Fat kids were actually the biggest (ha ha) reason my school cancelled their P.E. classes. Once you got them moving they just wouldn't stop. It was like that Indiana Jones movie but with a lot more wheezing. Untold amounts of property damage.

Now I am really curious on the details. Care to indulge in a few specific examples you may recall?

Well, I checked out the rules of the American dodgeball and in Estonia, we play like a mixture sport. Dodgeball, but with only 1 ball. And we usually played with volleyballs and some full-rubber balls, which were quite painful in the end.

And I can't get it why people have something against P.E in high school. High school is a place to develop at, not only mentally, but physically aswell. And those few hours you have every week might be the only few hours you do any active movement on that week... Seriously, moving brings such joy and freshness to body that nothing can compare to it. Granted, I also go on basketball practices at least twice a week in addition to P.E classes, but still.

And you guys say you are overweight or have overweight people in school... Not a single person in my class is overweight.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

I actually didn't mind gym class all that much, we had an excellent teacher who really tried to make things fun. The problem was the other students, specifically the elitism exhibited by the ones who were very athletic as they looked down on the rest of us who weren't as good.

Yes, I was looked down on. I was a math/music nerd (specifically a "band geek"). As hard as it is to believe, I wasn't always the suave and confident person I pretend to be over the internet.

^I really doubt many of us are. Something about potentially having hours to formulate a witty reply and no need to worry about physical repercussions can really do wonders for one's apparent confidence.

Fitness was a [bleep] for us too. We had like 30 girls and a few pieces of equipment in a dinky little room though.

Our P.E schedule worked on a rota. Usually played sports like hockey, football, netball etc for 4 weeks each and when it rained we went indoors to do benchball/play in that little dinky room.

Primary school P.E was epic though. Everyone remember that parachute?

Long live the parachute. I think I'd still enjoy playing with it, given an opportunity  One holdover from childhood that should never die.

Back in grade 9 I took a leadership class. It was pretty much a free credit, but one of the things we had to do was run gym classes for kindergarteners, and we always brought out the parachute. Making the giant tent was the most fun part.

Giant tent, good memories...

Also, anyone have some good ideas for things a large group of teenagers could do in Halifax, NS?

Halifax eh? Depends on what your looking to do really. I'm assuming your not going to do the tourist things. If you can, Halifax has a pretty spectacular night scene from the charming bars and pubs to full blown night clubs. In the winter, you might also be able to catch a hockey game at the Metro Center if you buy tickets before you arrive, something in the top of the lower bowl is fine.

Sounds like it's a fairly proper reenactment of medieval times. Oh wait, it's supposed to be fiction. :P

I don't pretend to be any different on the internet, though I may portray myself with a different flavor. I'm not gonna give you a whole life history but I basically only put the more interesting things on the internet. I don't usually feel the need to update you guys with those days where I play Battlefield 3 for 18 hours straight and watch TV until I pass out ~8 hours later. I dunno, you see a geek when you look at my face? An ex-runescaper? A psych major looking for answers on why society works the way it does? An occasional poet? A wannabe frat boy? State Champion soccer player? Cause I'm all of these things. We never stop being who we are; we only progress.

The day Lang makes a serious post is the day this forum will be shut down.

But I'd say "exaggerated version of myself" would be an accurate depiction of my internet persona. I'm a lot more bold and upfront here, but I don't really take on a brand new personality.

Doesn't the very nature of gym class preclude doing it online?

You do the health component online, then you log 85 hours of 'moderate to vigorous' exercise in your own time. I have to wait until Friday to find out if there are any slots available though.

Holy Jesus. I retract everything bad I've ever said about my college (which is actually a lot if you take a gander at my status history on facebook). Last semester I had a stripper in my class and she was awesome. This semester I have an ex-NSA spy/transgender person and a porn star in my class. I am literally over ecstatic right now. I can NOT wait for class again on Thursday. Oh my lawd.
