Meaningful is relative. I don't think what constitutes a meaningful relationship to a teenager or adult is going to exactly match up with a 10 year old. If they have fun, why not.

 

 

My mom's dryer is broken, and now it cycles through the end of cycle alarm options. BEEP beep [pause] BEEP beep [pause] BEEP beep. Not cool, but at least it only does it when the dryer is running.

Almost didn't make it to 22 years old, holy cow. 2 nights in a row I got shitfaced here in Montreal with good friends (one night involving a 22-cup beer pong game) and the third night I somehow managed to go up to Quebec city and party with cousins, also got shitfaced there. Needless to say on the fourth day (Sunday) I did not rise like Jesus had and instead stayed in bed most of the day.

 

BUT Today is Monday and I am cleansed. Time to get stuff done.

Why do people give gifts on easter? or even celebrate it?

My mom always gives me a shitload of chocolate. I'm so not complaining :thumbup:

 

What I do find funny is how people NEVER go to church.. then suddenly on Christmas and Easter it's absolutely packed. I feel like.. if you think it's important to attend church at all you should go as often as you can, not just twice a year. idk. It always seemed silly to me. As if people are hoping that by attending on the 'important' days they'll be 'safe' and fulfill their obligations to their religion or something.

 

Lucky, I didn't get anything this year, although we did go out because my mum didn't feel like cooking.

 

My youngest sister mentioned how we didn't get chocolates this year and I, jokingly, said how disappointed I was to wake up and not find any chocolate. My other sister asked me why I celebrated the holiday (she's Christian.) My response of "it's a pagan celebration so you shouldn't be the one celebrating it" shut her up pretty quickly. Then I had to explain to my family that Easter is really the pagan celebration of spring, and Christmas is the Winter Solstice. It got difficult to explain once they pointed out that Easter is in Autumn here, and Christmas is in Summer.

Well, technically the topic is what happened to you today, though normally its anything going on in your life at the moment (so near future and past too). I don't worry to much about it on this thread, since it also doubles as like the OT chat lounge since we get into discussions about stuff a lot, and if it gets big enough it will simply be split or merged and everyone will be happy.

Spent the weekend in San Francisco. Saw Sleigh Bells Thursday night and then saw a friend of a friend's band Friday night in Oakland, and then on Saturday night we went out to an irish bar. Spent the days hanging around Golden Gate Park. A pretty fun weekend if I do say. Could have done without the drive between SF & LA though.

Day of boredom. Went to a report of a shoplifter who was able to produce receipts for everything she bought, commence facepalming at the store staff/security for calling police.

So I took those receipts, and I THREW THEM ON THE GROUND! I don't need your items! I'M AN ADULT!!!

Those are the best days to be honest. It's happen to me a few times and it feels so good to be able to go home and do other things.

 

Been a interesting few days for me. By the looks of it I am not going to accompanist for my recital or music jury. Lesson learned, never anger a Doctor of 25 years in music...and never EVER miss a lesson :ohnoes:

Mom's dryer flat out died. I think its having a power supply issue and the signal was just the first system to feel the effect. Now it can't light up its display at normal brightness, change any of its settings or even start, so its fairly useless. Fortunately, there is another super old dryer (like one knob and a start button) here that we almost forgot existed, and its handling the drying for now. A lot less conveniant though. There are two houses on our property because my parents built the new one on the same lot. The old dryer is in the old house.

Are your parents going to get the current one repaired or buy a new one? I absolutely love new appliances. I fear that it's going to hurt me in the future every time something minor happens though.

First day of work at McDonalds today. It went well, although I smell like fries now.

Wait till your hair can be styled with ease from the grease in the atmosphere. When I worked at Hungry Jacks (aka Burger King for non Aussies) I had to wash my hair twice a day, EVERY day due to the sheer amount of grease. It was disgusting.

I can remember when saying Tip.It was censored on RS.

I don't know what they'll do with it. Be nice to keep it if the repair isn't going to be too much since its a matching set to the washer. In the meantime I guess they'll make do with the 2+ decade old purely mechanical dryer, for which the closest thing to a repair its needed is replacing the heating elements.

Things should be fine...I hope lol. And yeah the new avatar is hard to get used to. I wanted to change it up a little, so I took a picture of the collectors edition of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and used instragram to edit it a bit. E mailed the picture and got that as a avatar. Looks good in my opinion :)
