No thanksgiving in my country, but I had helluva lot of fun with me mates down in the city. I honestly can't remember, how many beers I had this time, but I am writing faily decently on a computer keyboard.

Gotta have fun tomorrow and atm I have 4 training sessions in 2 days. And I already had the overpractice microshards in my leg-bone. I dunno how to say it in English... The bone below my knee, the one strong one has exhaust breaks in it. And it gets [bleep]ing painful.

Black Thursday/Friday at Wal-mart...*shudders* Makes me wonder if I should keep working there or not though. I'll get a good sleep tonight, keep some butt in music history homework tomorrow, then be ready for work Sunday and Uni for Monday.

 

 

With exam season coming up, I tracked this article down and gave it another read. Nothing like combining the stress relief of humor with legitimate advice.

 

In particular, I find myself wishing that osmosis actually did work; that I could simply sacrifice a good nights sleep by using a textbook as a pillow and absorb all the knowledge contained by morning. I was looking through my computer textbook and found some more interesting stuff I could probably use in my project, but realistically I am not going to have the time to learn that much stuff beyond what we actually leaned in class, and I need to be careful to make sure I actually do include some nice features.

 

Also a first for me is planning out the program. I get the feeling I will be doing a lot more of that in the future. I've just never written anything big enough I couldn't plan it in my head before.

The bag I want from DeviantART is on sale AGAIN, down to ~$50.

Did some Black Friday shopping today, nothing crazy though. Arrived at stores around 9:30 (am) or so, got a few knick-knacks and an Xbox Live card from Gamestop for half off. Pretty relaxing day.

1st word problems

I continue to be successful in the art of skipping classes without getting kicked out. I'm going to start looking for a job next week, need to start saving for a car.

 

Luckily I have till February before I have to apply for University. I'm pretty much guaranteed to get in though, all I need is a 75% average over 5 Grade 12 courses and a min. of 60% in English.

It is. Though I think my mum is going to buy me it for Xmas anyway (assuming they don't run out since it's been on clearance for a while)

 

Anyway, bf's sister gave me a full hairstyle and clean up. If I did it normally where she works, it'd cost about $300 (model senior hairstylist) but I only paid $10 and even said she wouldnt mind getting me to do facial modeling later next year for her projects. :3

 

Which comes to my next motivation step; Im now eating healthier, and starting monday I'm going to be doing jogging/walking also. Calc'd that its a 2.5km job around the full block so that's a good distance for starting off as I want to shed the fat off now for January (for TAFE) as opposed to doing "Nar, next month/ nar, new year resolution" because we all know it never works.

Most diets/exercise plans are started "tomorrow". :lol:

There's two bones, but you're most likely referring to the shin bone, which is the tibia. Pain is good because it's the body's way of saying "There's something really wrong here," so get it seen to if it's hurting that much.

 

Today I discovered that the end of the taskbar on Windows 7 is the Show Desktop button. I've missed that button ever since XP and I thought they'd removed it completely, so instead I'd pinned all my programs to the taskbar. Can remove all the clutter now.

I had no idea XP had that button.

Granted I always Right-clicked the taskbar and Show Desktop but making a button is so much faster!

Its when you have multiple windows, or worse, non-maximized windows so the Red X isn't always at the upper right corner.

I'm not a very organised person so I have about five or windows open at any one time. Takes a while.

I haven't used desktop shortcuts in ages; I just hide them. The most important programs are pinned to my taskbar and I can easily find the rest in my Start menu.

Same, I don't actually use the desktop for much. The programs I use the most are pinned, and for just about everything else I just hit the windows key and start typing. By now my computer knows what programs I use, so it's normally just window key > keyword > enter and boom, I have the program I wanted. Once in a blue moon I use the arrow keys.

 

I do still have desktop icons though, as I normally start there when I have nothing running.

Decided the approach I was taking for my project was kind of crazy. Most/all of the code I wrote last night is still useful, though some of it will need minor modifications as it was orinally inteded to work with more classes than the final version will have (final version will only be two, unless I can figure out a GUI which I think adds a third).

 

Unfortunately, I am now working on the file I/O, though I suppose it's good to get the hard stuff out of the way. It's quite a learning experiance, though it's starting to make my head hurt. Now I need to take the time to actually read the chapter through before I go on, or this is going to take hours.

Damn. Party in here was quite dead... Highlight of the night was me seeing for the first time lesbians making out (for more than half an hour in a row). The girl I like didn't show up, by 1:30 AM everything was dead, but I have no transportation before 7 AM... Can't sleep either, music is too loud and someone turned the lights on...

Oh and I was hungover from last night until I had my first beer here, but I took only 4 and so I am completely sober now at 5.30 AM.

Today I rewrote part of a rendering engine I started a few years ago. I saw many noobie mistakes and poor conventions from when I originally started it when I was new with C++. It was easier to rewrite it from scratch. Basically, it is a tri-brid rendering engine which allows you to render using software, OpenGL, or DirectX, from Java using JNI/JAWT. It is inspired from RuneScape's engine. I have the software portions and OpenGL portions nearly complete. I can only render basic geometry with the directX portion. It is incredibly easy to low level interfaces for Java.

 

 

Along side that, I am doing research on possibly working for the games industry. I am debating between customer service and Q&A. I have experience in both managerial experience in customer support and I know how to break things in video games.
