It's really strange how much a person can change over a year. I thought about it the same one last new years also. The only difference was when I was thinking about it, it was because I had depression. 2012-2013 I was thinking how much my life went downhill and it amazed me. This new years, I feel like I'm on top of the world. I have a job, a fraternity, new friends, new internship, steady relationship, and I'm more fit than I have been in a while. It's a great feeling.

except without the job, relationship, independence etc BUT I am optimistic it will happen soon. (at least the job and moving out one, not fussed on dating atm)

Honestly, not too bad. Lyrically you're pretty good. The delivery is alright, better than I expected. I think the problem is that the beat is pretty bland (no offence if you or a friend made it, it's much better than I could do) and it makes you come off as a little bit stiff sounding.

 

I think with more production you could definitely throw something cool together. Either way though nice job, I've always wanted to get into rap/hip-hop myself. I've always doubted my musical ability though (of which I have none) and I sound... really white for a want of a better description.

Not bad maze. I don't have any major critique on either the beat or lyrical delivery, though they don't compliment each other as well as they could. Also i kept expecting a hook, when there really wasn't one.

I've been super restless the past two days. I want to get back to school already. Or rather I want all my friends to come back and I want to throw parties every couple days until the semester starts. I don't know what it is, but for some reason throwing a party makes me happier and more alive feeling than pretty much anything else. Which is weird, because I hate going to parties. I think it must be because when we throw the party I have a connection to everyone there in at least some way, even if they're just a friend of a friend of a friend.

 

But yeah, basically I haven't known what to do with myself. I've been super tempted to shave my head, no clue why. I just want to do something.

I totally agree, throwing parties is super life affirming. Shame the last one I threw was such a train wreck lol. At least my buddy got a girlfriend out of it

In about an hour now I'll leave to hop on the Greyhound and head back to school. I enjoyed all the comforts of home, but I'm looking forward to this coming quarter (in most regards, that is).

So tired of being home. All I do is work it seems like. And living with parents after my first semester away is so weird. Just want the next semester to start. My college won its Bowl game so that was exciting. I just hate living at home with not shit to do. I live in a town of 800,and go to school in a town of over 100,000 so it's a bit different haha. I love it.

You've moved away from your hometown and discovered the world is far bigger, far more complex and far more exciting than you thought before. You've also discovered those taken-for-granted truths your parents gave you are more debatable now that you've been exposed to life without them. It's only natural that parent-child relationship is going to change because, to state the obvious, you're not a child any more. Expect a lot less mothering and lot more negotiation in future.

 

That's normal, and it's something myself and a lot of my university friends go through every time we go back during holidays. A lot of us don't even stay at home throughout the holidays and return late or come back to university early.

Back in my own house. Feels good, though I have to admit, I was really enjoying being out with my parents.

 

Mom and I went sledding on the hill down to the lake (~45 ft high, two 90 degree turns. It's quite fun). I haven't had a sled on that hill in a couple years at least (it takes a fair amount of snow. Such as the Blizzard we had). Dad came out and took some pictures. First try with the camera I almost ran him over because I went wide through the first turn. Also had the dog out for some exercise. Just a tonne of fun.

 

Classes start up again tomorrow. Can't say I am super pleased with that. I prefer it like the fall term where we always start on a Thursday (which gives you every class once, and then a weekend). A nicer way to get back into it versus a full week. Also don't have my Tuesdays and Thursdays clear anymore, though all my days are lighter as a result. Loved that schedule though, minus the part where I had two classes at the same time (just sat in on a different prof).

Tomorrow I have my first real university exam. Exam as in the only test or thing that I supposedly have studied for since September.

 

Honestly, only did go to 2 lectures in that subject. Which is evolution and evolutionary mechanisms.

Now I have studied for it for 2 days and I think I will do just fine. The grading is supposedly done with a ruler as in you have some very wide question you have to answer and your grade depends on how much you can write on it.

And I also heard that the professor is so lazy that he doesn't want to do another exam for those who have failed so he just doesn't fail anyone.
