Honestly i think i'd prefer 60C over extremely cold weather. Live in general is much better suited for hot weather. There are ACs everywhere you go. In fact, even during the hottest days of the year the Malls are never much warmer than room temperature. I just hate shivering, and feeling like i can't get warm enough. I hate that my hands and feet are constantly freezing.

Must be a climate thing for what you are used to. Here I'm much more comfortable at cold temperatures, although I wouldn't consider 15C(60F) that cold for my preference, because I can always either wear more clothes or turn the temperature up with everywhere having heat but not always AC.

This morning my fingers hurt a little bit after a 20 minute ride on my scooter in <20 degrees F.

edit: Oh and this is pretty neat.

Even better...

[bleep] the heat.

Seriously, I'd take a proper cold instead of a heatwave anytime.

And the sad part is, it is the silly season here, with Christmas and heat and all that shit and it's 25C+ every day and sun. Summer.

I miss the cold.

Ooh, lights. The 'sun' is above the pillar (squarely in the middle of the area). It blends between the two lights as the little guy walks around.

Spiffy.

I hate programming graphics. If it weren't for other people then everything I've ever written would be pure command line, so kudos.

I got LSPDFR (play as police in GTA V) setup again, mostly because I finally got into watching DoJ videos on youtube (DoJ is a roleplaying group that uses the FiveM mod for multiplayer, allowing them to set up proper RP mods). The AI is way too goofy for that level of experience, but I don't have the time to get into DoJ stuff, so this will do. I also finally figured out how to mod in new cars and a mod that adds more ambient crime (something I feel GTA V lacks compared to GTA IV) which makes things so much better for me (I want to do more than just traffic stops and answering calls. I want things to happen dammit!).

Graphics are the best part. I've done so many cool things. Deferred rendering, PBR, painterly rendering, and my favourite, resolution-independent vector graphics. Next best is gameplay. But I usually move on after implementing some cool rendering technique. The part that sucks is making content.

...

Oh wow. I just booted FreeBSD (I'm developing on Windows) and ran my game and just worked via WINE without a hitch. Nice.

ozXHe7P.png

I think if i lived in a colder place for a few years again i could definitely get used to it again. I just feel like cold weather doesn't fit well here. I'm sure if i lived in a colder place for a few years it wouldn't be long before i hate the heat again. When i first moved here it took me a few summers before i could actually handle it.

On a completely different note, i went out for a cigarette a few minutes ago. Saw a guy casually park his Lexus SUV in the open "field" opposite my house. He casually walks to the back, opens the trunk, and casually takes out his pet falcon. That was pretty much my signal to head back inside. I'm not about to make the morning news because someone's poorly trained falcon decided i looked like prey.

Don't get me wrong, the math and methods behind graphics are amazing, particularly signals processing. It's just never been my cup of tea. For a game, I'd much rather build the world itself than the rendering of it.

The weather here is too warm, and I'm pretty sure the UK stole our snow. It hit 11C yesterday with high winds which made driving on the highway with snow tires just oh so fun (like driving a wind vane). Needs to get cold so the snow can stick around a bit. Even a light dusting would be nice going into Christmas (Christmas music feels wrong with no snow).

Don't get me started on the Christmas thing, it is all wrong, ALL WRONG HERE!

Back home it is nice and snowy, here it's my third month WITHOUT negative degrees! This is blasphemy!

Just burning my ass off.

FCC is a joke, Disney bought 20th century Fox which means Deandra Reynolds is a Disney Princess and I found out my building "doesn't recycle paper"

But I'm about to see the new Star Wars

What a rollercoaster day

Hopefully I'll be there in 4-5 years, too. But I'll be 29/30 instead of 25.

Nice one, I still have a few years to go, once I get back to studying...

Saw the new Star Wars. It was... good.

Spoilers avoid you must, it twists is that movie make.

Spent half the day trying to figure out the technical fault to cause the bloody rear brake light not to work on my bike. Took apart every single electrical thing, cut quite a few wires and rejoined them (properly, smoldering together and covering with melted on rubber cover), cleaned all the fuses and relays.

And the bulb was out. It was pretty much the last thing we checked.

Got the new bulb from a standing Toyota Land Cruiser :D

Got a new tent and gonna do first overnight trip here on this island. Gonna see how motorcycle touring looks like.

New star wars was sick. Easily top 3 films of the series. I'll give it a week or so to discuss it since it just came out though

the new star wars was pretty and I really liked parts of it but I came away from it feeling like I just watched a marvel movie in space and there were parts that reeeeeally pissed me off

[spoiler=spoilers]leia levitating back into the ship after being blasted out was very weird and confusing and also kylo ren's personality switch after snoke died felt so ridiculously out of character that it was hard to enjoy the rest of the move after that

The oddly timed humor both physical and dialogue was absolutely reminiscent of recent marvel movies, I totally agree

never saw rogue one, I enjoyed episode 7 for what it was when it came out and thought this new one was a step down from that though. if you already didn't like episode 7 I don't think there will be much for you in the new one tbh. but plenty of people loved this one too so opinions man, depends what you didn't like about episode 7 but this just didn't really feel very much like a star wars movie to me

I'm not all that excited about it...I thought EP7 was pretty mediocre, and suspect this won't be any better. I didn't love Rogue One (bad acting and writing) but appreciate that they at least took some interesting risks plot-wise

TLJ is very much a different experience than TFA. The plot is quite unpredictable if you are expecting it to go like any previous Star Wars movie before it. Obviously, Disney is trying to rebrand Star Wars, and it really shows in this movie.

My biggest issue with it is that there is one subplot in particular that seems forced, unneeded, and out of place, but that will always happen when you have 4 main characters in a movie, each with their own plots.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

Yeah the B plot is pretty weak, but I appreciate the total lack of fan service. I loved TFA when I first saw it, but I didn't like it as much outside of the theater. Rouge One might be my favorite star wars film, and I thought TLJ was flawed but thoroughly enjoyable. It absolutely takes the series in a new direction, but I'm pretty ok with it
