Today I ducked out of class early to go to work, which I'd normaly be cool with, but today's work just sucked cause I had to redo virtually everything I did from Monday.

So I was being a loner in gym today, when a mentally and physically challenged kid walks up to me and asks for a hug. Not wanting to hurt his feelings, I hugged him. I thought it was just going to be a friendly, nice hug. No, he hugged me affectionately. He squeezed tighter and tighter and dug his face in my shoulder. We stood there hugging for about thirty seconds, and then I finally broke the hug. It was pretty awkward, and it didn't help that there were two Gym teachers standing there.

Might be awkward but it makes them feel noticed and welcomed. I know personally I'm planning on going into town one day with a free Hugs sign in the street to raise awareness for ReachOut!
