Pker attitude-Spreading like a disease?

We've all heard it.

 

 

 

And where was it the most-that's right, the Wilderness and Bounty Hunter.

 

Dunno where did it start, people could fight normally without insults before.

 

 

 

I've met a max of 3 pkers who can pk without name calling. And who watches pking vids, knows what do I talk about.

 

 

 

And so, idiotic kiddies try to act cool to call everyone nerds, make up rules and flame who doesn't follow their rules, etc.

 

 

 

So which game is still safe from these people.......?

 

Yeah, could try fight pits...

 

 

 

So I enter, bunch of 115s mostly. I get immediately called a nerd for being a higher level and training summoning.

 

Okay, let's see if you can only talk.

 

I pot up and attack the one who talked the most crap.

 

Once his buddies notice he ain't going to win, I have 4 ppl on me, all name calling, insulting and stuff.

 

 

 

"lmao your clan got pwnt nerd"-I'm a alone-what the hell?

 

"lol praying nerd"-4 on 1, let's see if you could last longer.

 

And more. And I didn't even say a word for all of them praying melee 4v1 in veracs? Hypocrites.

 

 

 

Okay, second round, took ice barrage for fun.

 

Managed to pick off the 3 flaming kids, then like 15 more attack me. This is normal, unfortunately.

 

 

 

Died fast, third round. One of the guys who constantly have excuses for losing attacks me.

 

Despite him having ags, I beat him. Of course, he MUST come into these orbs and call me a lucky noob.

 

Somehow, lasted with the 3 last people to the 1s. We all took food, and it was pretty close.

 

Ended up winning.

 

 

 

As I exited, almost everyone "lmao fat kid, go get more food"

 

Yeah, even the ags guy I beat without food said the same thing.

 

You can afford an ags, but not stupid 20 monkfish? Come on...

 

 

 

Same situation in FoG-Decided to take a spirit terrorbird for fun-extra run for the inability to use portals.

 

Lasted the full timer, every time the guy almost caught me, he HAD to insult me.

 

He calls me an idiot, yet he takes only melee and tries to mage me in rune.

 

 

 

Duel arena-basically dead.

 

 

 

BH? 3x worse than pits. You get flamed for anything that is out of the "pking rules".

 

 

 

Castle wars-only decent PvP, but you still get flamers.

 

Atleast they never have teams and are easy to take down.

 

 

 

Thank god the monsters in fight pits can't talk, or I would get flamed to hell after 1 round.

 

 

 

Don't say "public chat off" because it doesn't change the way people act.

 

 

 

With the current player-made rules, anyone not used to pking much gets instantly name called and flamed.

 

 

 

So, what do you think? Why did all of the name calling and flaming basically pass to EVERY PvP game?

 

I swear I could play fight pits before without getting flamed constantly.

i dunno, but i know what you mean. usually its the same people who will break their own rules at the first sign that they are loosing. my little bro takes advantage of the f2p bh "no arm" fights and pulls out that 99 range/2h ownage, and half the time the other guy will call him a range noob or something like that and run away(still gets kills from this :) ) its not really a pker attitude but more of a immature player attitude that is in everything. it does no good and usually makes me feel even more inclined to "cheat". if its some higher level bragging i just point out that "my [bleep]er ele could rape ur rune scape noob"(guild wars) and some actually like to argue it. anywhoo just wait for pk worlds and see how much of these ppl are willing to risk their agss in tru pk atmosphere.

Yea, the "pker attitude" is quite disgusting. Anyone who can't get through a fight without trash-talking the other person should just dig a pit and go die there. They most certainly don't deserve to be with the rest of society.

1 - Don't retaliate

 

2 - Just leave or try to stop fighting them if possible

 

3 - If that fails, ignore list

Example:

 

A regular pker is fighting someone who rarely pks.

 

Non-Pker eats

 

Pker: Safe noob

 

This will incline the non-pker to be less likely to safe eat, and seeing as he won't be as experienced in PKing as the other guy, will be more likely to undereat and die. The PKer gets free armour because the other guy doesn't want to be a noob.

 

 

 

People make these topics because they get upset for not following the PKer's rules, which is silly because it means you are winning, by not following their rules. The PKer just wants you to be easier to kill, it's that simple.

 

 

 

You can either follow the rules and not be flamed, but stand a larger chance of dying, or you can do what you want and expect to get flamed, in return for your safety. It really just depends how often you PK for which one you chose.

Probably the most ridiculous name Ive ever heard was when i was playing f2p FoG last wweak when I ran out of members...

 

 

 

 

 

The name i speak of is "runner noob". When i hear this I think to my self, " Wow this round is going to be even easier because he/she is going to try and tank in the middle, seeing as they hate the idea of running about, even though the game is a glorified hide-and-go-seek, where one person runs around trying not to be seen and the other person looks."

This isn't a pker attitude, this is the attitude that comes with anonymity. Stop sterotyping. Besides why do you care so much about what they think or say? The whole point of them saying those things is to affect you.

Back in the olden days of the wilderness, where early clans roamed the land and no one even heard the word "pure" or "hybrid", there was little to no insults. Since runescape became more popular over the years, more people from different sides of life started joining. Many escaped from the mundane boringness of outside life, many needed a place to vent their everyday frustrations. Apparently, and ironically, the frustrated kids went on to become pkers (since watching your opponent die is a antidepressant???), when the bored kids went to become skillers. Alas the pker community is mostly biased towards being rude and immature. They think it's a rule to call their opponent vulgar names to make him lose his ground and be more prone to losing. The funny truth however is whereas they spend time to type the message, the opponent can be more focused to killing that sucker, completely ignoring his cussing. Putting public chat on hide in crowded areas and combat minigames can be an effective cure. You won't see who typed the nasty message, you won't see it spamming up the chat box either. Or just turn the chat off completely. One thing is for certain, there will always be kids whose mommy and daddy didn't teach them manners from young age, now the tykes try to be a badass in a mmorpg. Nothing we can change about it, unfortunately.

I used to PK alot back in f2p, and the name calling didnt really bother me. I just went on with the fight, sometimes I won, they would say "GF", sometimes they would say "noob", but it was the same to me.

 

 

 

And why is this called a "PKer attitude"? I think that some skillers have bad attitudes too. I was cutting willows in draynor once, and this guy asked "wc lvl?" so a lot of us answered. Then he said "HAHAHA noobs im 88, u guys suck!" :roll:

 

 

 

It's not a PKer attitude, its just an attitude that some players have.

Yes, PKers will be coming back and with them will be the dreaded PKer attitude...

 

I suppose PKing was fun, and having it brought back (more or less) won't be without a compromise.

 

I kind of missed being called a Def Noob/Prayer Noob by every single 9 year old who's throwing a tantrum because I'm not playing by their rules and letting them kill me easily.

 

I had a rant about that in the Rants forum on Tif, a lot of people liked it but I doubt it's still there.

 

Basically, I either ignore them or just keeping going "lol" every time I deal them damage in the double digits (which is quite often, hehe). It really pisses them off, and when someone is being as annoying as a PKer I have no problem pushing their buttons. :lol:

I have Pk'd since the beginning of time. :^o Well, the last 6 years. I have skilled also on an off over the last 6 years. And with out a doubt other than maybe the times of dueling in lumby, I find skillers are more arrogant than any pvp'er, no matter what you do these days, somebody aks's you your lvl in it, and if it's lower, they abuse you. If it is ALOT higher than them, you're a no lifer. You can't win, but when it came to Pking, more so in high lvl wild, there was not a hell of alot of abuse, more so just people who logged out an switched world would be teased, but I meen when we all had over 95+ cb back then (rsc, 4+ yr ago) you should have enough to lose the 200k worth of rune, pots, food, if you was out there in purpose to pk when it was a fair fight. Anyway, in conclusion;

People just dont understand honour is only good if it is to there advantage. You only get flamed if you are beating the other guy. It the truth, I know people who can't wait for this, and they're great people. Of course they may change once the PKing comes back, but I'm thinking not. Anyway, skillers are exactly the same, (note that I'm not talking about all of them, but a good few.)

 

I can't say anything about PKers, cause I only risked it once with nothing on at about level 25 or so I think, and once a got to greater demons, a PKer killed me, it was done in about 2 hits I think, and he said nothing, so yeah.

Their advantage eh? well lets just look at it in a different light now shall we.

 

 

 

Safing, how cant that work to your advantage? Well, in gaining the other peoples items, thats what. Say I'm a safer, and me and my opponent get redbarred, me being the safer, I would INSTANTLY eat. However, my opponent, being the guy who had a slight speed advantage in attacking, can continiue to bash on you, after you had your meal, he starts to eat. This way, he had more hits on you then you did to him. Effectively making you less effective in killing the other player.

 

 

 

Now, the prayers. Sure, you can put on protect from melee, and run away after it has been drained, like all single one of those prayer guys do. Or you could put on a different kind of prayer, lets say steel skin. Not only does this give the effect of a slower prayer drain, but in a long fight ( which all f2p fights are ) it will give you an advantage over the other player. Allowing you to flip on protect item too.

 

 

 

Then again, you go to Bounty hunter. Yet every other former pker hates bounty hunter because its a Pilejumping, one iteming, backstabbing extravaganza fest there. These people normally were considered the bad apples among the pkers, since they used the most language.

 

 

 

And yes, there are other flames in the wilderniss, but look at your grounds. It is not a player killers aditude. Its just the average 'Scapers aditude. Have you seen any increase in a better community? No, every other day there is a topic here in General discussion the downward spiral of the community. And guess what, most of the pkers left! That leaves what? Oh right, the skillers, the minigamers, the immature people, and the vengefull game-hater-who-continiues-to-play-in-hope-the-wilderniss-someday-returns, but-until-then-decides-to-stick-to-forums-and-discuss-the-matter-till-it-dies.

 

 

 

Its the community taking a dive, its not the player killers fault. Some people decided to flame the pkers once their wilderniss was gone, now that obviously count as mature because he is a skiller right?

 

 

 

Now, unless we need to go over every other thing all the time, I think most of the discussion has already been done in this topic. Or we could continiue in a Post-Usefull-Thread-Fashion.
