I got bad grades and my dad says it is because I do not study enough. I tend to study in my free periods at school and then relax when I get home. Usually I go on RS or watch the simpsons or similar.

Often he comes upstairs expecting em to be doing some complex maths equation or some long politics essay but won't believe me when I say i have finsihed all my work at school. He makes me sooo mad sometimes.

His idea of a school week is go to school come home, do schoolwork from like the moment I get home until dinner time at like 7.30pm. Then I should be "out and about" at the weekend. Does he not realise I have a life out of school during the week?

I tend just to ignore him and continue playing RS or whatever i am doing that is fun. He has gotta relaise taht sometimes I want to just be lazy and do nothing worthwhile i.e come home and just watch a couple hour TV after a tiring day at school getting my head round a 2 hour lesson of american politics or whatever I happen to be studying that day.

What I don't get about my dad is that he expects me to do loads of work after school which I often do not have any to do but he is fine with me doing activities such as orchestra or cricket taht take up the entire evening.

anyway he does not get in the way of my RS playing.

Lol, i am too old for my mum to really disagree how i spend my time on the pc. I attend college so as long as i am not a hobo just doing nothing with my life, she's fine with me.

I must make a comment though, i know about 4 or 5 people on RS who are parents, and got into it via their children.

Would any of you suggest to your parents trying the game. :P

But anywho, my mum has no problem with Runescape, she just comes in my room occasionally and says "Still chipping them rocks?" (I'm mining) and that is it.

They usually don't have a problem with me playing, as I often take the initiative when my grades are dropping and take a break to catch back up.

My parents used to nag me sometimes when I broke my rule of 2 hours a day; but now I probably only go on RS every 2 days for probably 10 mins. In my case; I have no worry of parents stopping me because of grades, I am the cleverest in my year.. :D

As my parents know I enjoy RS; they use it to punish me; like if I do something wrong etc etc they'll ban me from the computer for ages or something..

my parents dont know i play, but i am responsible enough to give myself my own limits as to when i can play or not. in the summer i had a job so i didnt play much and now the school year is starting and i am responsible enough to stop playing and make sure my grades r high and that my schoolwork is doing well. + i do sports and chill with friends so i really dont play much at all. i just play rs when im bored

They repeatedly told me that its a stupid game, unfortunately I am past the point where I can just put the game down, I'm not stopping now, but I know when I will, so I cram and cram....

Meh, just think of it as a game. You can always come back to it when you have more time ;).

But my parents are pretty easy going when it comes to my playing time. They don't like rs at all, but since I usually do other semi-productive things while playing rs they don't mind as much. But if they ever see a C on my report card for any class (unless I have a really good excuse for it)... bam. 1 hour a day computer time.

Nope im 20 and have paid for the internet and own the only decent computer in the house for the last 3 years now. My mum does call it "that stupid game" but never tried to prevent me from playing it, even in my younger years.

I think my dad was looking for an excuse to ban me from the game, and when I got a bad grade, out went Runescape. So I don't play anymore because of him. I will in 1.5 years, if I'm not busy with college.

Well, seeing as you have a car. Sell it, buy YOUR own computer and keep it in your room maybe even a laptop. As long as it's yours they can't do much.

Or else ignore them, let them get angry they'll realise they're over reacting.

As to your question. Yes I wish I never started playing but I also wish I had started playing earlier (2002). RuneScape has taken a decent portion of my life and I'm sure it has to many others. So in saying that I wish I never started.

Best of luck Haseo!

Yeah my parents say Im growing stupider day-by-day, but MY grades have stayed at an average of 87%. That's why they banned Runescape from me at one point. But my Dad was more easy on me, seeing that he kind of has an addiction to buying expensive gadgets, so he let me play 1 hour/weekend.

To my surprise, I lost that privilege because I stayed about 10 minutes late on rs once. That's when i got banned from rs. However my parents started nor caring about stuff like that, so they let me play a bit, but I still had to be careful.

Again, I stayed late on rs (by 15 minutes this time) trying out the new Stronghold of Player Safety. My parents soon find out from a neighbour, and *bam* there goes my computer. I think some of my clan mates might remember me saying "must stop playing, parents will ban me" when I was roach killing, it came true -.- .

What happened next? My dad passworded every single computer out there including my own, but this time with one of his own passwords. Amazingly, he left one user unlocked: his own. I started using it, and I know that my dad doesn't care too much about me going on it, but my Mom does (It's just that I don't think Dad bothered telling her that I still play  .

Well, that's my battle with my parents -.- .
