cadburys_egg
If cream doesn't work for you, go to a doctor and get that pill (forgot the name) prescribed to you. I did have a pill for 6 months and there was no difference. :? I know its not necessarily the pill Shadow meant, but you can use The pill to have an affect on acne. Or maybe thats just for normal hormonal spots. Either way, take contraceptives.

pennywise
I use the Oxy Maximum strength daily cleansing pads on my face, and they work very well. I used to use the Clearasil pads, but they just ended up making my face greasy, and my acne worse. So far I've been using Oxy for about a month and a half almost every day, and my skin hasn't dried out, nor is it greasy. I actually noticed my pimples getting a bit smaller after just the first time using it. Eight Bananas, MD.

gonpost
Hah, well I will tell you one SURE way to clear it up. Don't eat anything. I had oral surgery and ate nothing for a good two days except for tons and tons of water. I usually have a few zits here and there (you might be able to say very mild acne? nothing much), but after those days I had NONE forming at all. I mean literally zero. It was kind of cool. And then I started eating again, and they slowly came back. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.

BlueLancer
Just use soap and water, with that simple method I had no spots by the start of late teens. After you're past your teens, it probably wont reoccur, just keep showering regularly and it'll stay at bay. For some people it might be genetic though, not all topical creams or sprays can help an internal body problem... If you're 11-16, it's extremely hard to get rid of them even if you wash regularly.. Hormones will cause unnecessary clogging of skin pores due to the fatty glands producing too much grease especially while you sleep.. You can make it slightly less visible as a teen, but it's very hard to make it completely disappear. I had oral surgery and ate nothing for a good two days except for tons and tons of water. I usually have a few zits here and there (you might be able to say very mild acne? nothing much), but after those days I had NONE forming at all. I mean literally zero. It was kind of cool. The cleaner food you eat/the cleaner your body is.. The less acne you'll have. Obviously drinking tons of water is the optimal way to clean your body but it's not sustainable for long, even an adult would start having mood swings, depression, rage, weakness and other symptoms after not eating much at all & just drinking water for extended periods. fgfuyfyuiuy0
Day one update God damn. The day isn't over yet and I still wish it was... I have really fast metabolism and I have to follow a strict diet. I am eating 1 thing, 10 times a day and drinking tons of water. I literally have to force the food down because my stomach doesn't want it anymore. I have to go to the bathroom a lot. I just want the day to be over! warren211
^Same here. Can anyone tell me, is popping zits any good for stopping them, or just prolongs it for a while and it reappears? I looked it up and some website showed a guide to properly popping a zit without any infection or making the puss going deeper. The problem with popping zits is if you do it wrong, it reappears. By using the typical index finger and thumb combo to squeeze the sides of the zit, half of the puss comes out and the other goes in deeper. The site offered an alternative where you use tweezers and a sterilized needle just right to make all the puss come out. I tried it a bit and it seemed to work, though it left a scar for a day. Any other popping stories? http://www.acne-resource.org/acne-articles/remove-zits.html <-- the site with the zit popping guide. What I find odd is the beginning says professionals don't reccomend it, but then it gives a guide on how to do it anyways... [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. assassin_696
Is the diet thing really a good idea? It sounds like your body is trying to tell you to stop, I'd lay back on the processed foods but still eat high quality fibres, carbohydrates and proteins. I'm on an anti-biotic (not roaccatane) for acne on my upper back. My face is largely fine, although I get spots now and again i've found a really thorough face wash twice a day and clean (wet shave) daily followed by moisturiser and some topical gel applied to a couple of spots keeps my skin looking okay. They don't go straight away, but they're a lot less visible. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

Lenticular_J
I use Stridex pads every night, and sometimes when my face just feels greasy. I have next to no acne, apart from my family's trademark bumps around our nostrils and on our cheeks. The only problem is that my skin is addicted to it. If I go a week without it, my chin and forehead get invaded. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

fgfuyfyuiuy0
Is the diet thing really a good idea? It sounds like your body is trying to tell you to stop, I'd lay back on the processed foods but still eat high quality fibres, carbohydrates and proteins. From what I've read in the book and from feedback, it's natural the first 2 days. The first day feels like you are shoving the food down your throat. The second day, you crave food and this is where most people stop the cleansing diet. The third day is alright because it's your last day and you want to get it over. It's just three days. The book says the acne will go away in four. I am skeptic, so I am testing to see if it really works. I <3 Gears of War 2. aquariusman
I take Ret-i-Na and Tetracycline. The annoying thing about the Tetracycline is that i have to take the pill on an empty stomach. >_< I can't remember the exact name of the drug I used to take, I think it was (Apo) Minocycline or something, but it was in the same family as tetracycline. Had to take on an empty stomach also. The reason I'm not taking it is because 2 weeks after I have started taking it, I get what's called Serum Sickness. Symptoms? Hives. Lots and lots of Hives. Oh god that had to be the worst week of my life. I slathered my back with some pink lotion - which actually helped quite a bit initially - and at one time I couldn't sleep it was so bad. I got lucky it was winter, when I was outside the cold numbed my back and I barely noticed the hives. I decided to stay in side anyways. I never want to experience that again. Oh, and whoever linked to that "zit popping guide", I think that is nothing more than a way to lure you into buying their product. Popping a zit WILL do damage, no matter what you do, there's a reason it's no recommended by medical professionals. Also, that would be good if you had, say 2 pimples on your face. Other than that it would just be too tedious. Worst place for a pimple (To me)? Hairline. No reason, I just hate that I always have them there. Also, for some reason I think it would be cool if all of my acne simultaneously popped. I don't know why either, I kind of like the feeling, either that or it's just my habit of acne-picking. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. wild_goat_14
If cream doesn't work for you, go to a doctor and get that pill (forgot the name) prescribed to you. I did have a pill for 6 months and there was no difference. :? Acutane? I'm 4 months into it, and even though my skin/lips are insanely dry, my acne is almost completely gone. The "pits" in my back are still there, but they are supposed to go away in the last month or two. When I'm done taking it, I will be not dry again 2 weeks later, and I will probably be one of the 75% of people who never have acne problems again. Of the 25% that have to take it again, 50% of them never have acne problems again. If you didn't take this medicine, ask your dermatologist about it. It works, though the 6 months are hellish. If you don't know if this was your pill, if it didn't dry out your skin, it wasn't Acutane. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. Kaphias
I'm currently on tetracycline, and yes, it's a bit of a pain, as I was told to not eat anything 2 hours before or after taking the pill. So it's essentially come down to 3 meals a day- no more snacking. I've only been on it for a week, so no major changes to be reported, but if something does make a major change and this topic is still around I'll be sure to post it. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009
Exarch
There is a great site, www.acne.org, that has lots of information and forums on acne treatment. They also sell cleanser, moisturizer, and benzoyl peroxide (the active ingredient in Pro-Activ) for fairly cheap. Don't use pro-active. If it works for you, then buying BP at acne.org is MUCH MUCH cheaper, and if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. :P Anyways, I did have very bad acne since I was 12-13, and used benzoyl peroxide for a few years. It worked fairly well, but it didn't get me completely clear and it was a huge hassle (putting it on twice a day, face going back to how it was if you missed a few days due to holidays etc). If you're 19 or older and still have plenty of acne, I suggest looking into trying Accutane, which I took. It has lot's of hefty side effects, but they weren't too bad for me. Also, it's very expensive. For me, on Accutane, my acne got better for the first week, much worse for the rest of the month, then slowly better after that. During month 4 I stopped getting new acne entirely, and finished after 5 months. It's now been about 3 months after I finished accutane, and I have noticed one (count it- one) very tiny pimple. The downsides? For the first few months my lips would get very dry and sometimes bleed, chapstick is a frequent necessity. My face was a little dry and flaky, but nothing a bit of moisturizer doesn't take care of. Minor joint/muscle pain. Sometimes I would get nosebleeds in the morning. Minimal alcohol consumption (you're technically supposed to have none), and monthly blood tests. That's about it.
mmmcannibalism
have you ever tried rubbing alcohol on cotton balls? If you use it every other day does a great job of drying up anything you have popped. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed. Evaluate
I get the occasional few zits here and there, but I've found a product that works well for me. I'm all for saving money, so I tried the Equate brand of acne removing products. It's 10% BP, which someone mentioned is the main ingredient in Proactiv, and it's certainly cheaper. All you're paying for with that expensive stuff is the brand name. 7 years 'scape knowledge and counting99 Attack - June 8th 2010 99 Defence - August 2nd 2011 99 HP - December 2nd 2011
