Americas spent half a trillion dollars of tax payers money invading iraq last i heard so this experiment and the discoveries we will see in 18 months or so will be tremendous, dont forget the laborotory cern has birthered some really siginificant discoveries in recent history so this is nothing but exciting. He sais that they actually accelerated the protons through the tunnel and that was a success. According to him, they haven't actually collided them yet.
