"Got a penny? Leave a penny. Need a penny? Take a penny."

God I hate those. Especially when you need an extra 2 or 3 cents to make a purchase and the cashier gives you a dirty look as if you're stealing his 3 cents.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

I have found that change is a good way to build up a small bonus after a few months. Each time I get change, I just plop it on my side table, and when there is too much, I organize it. After about 6 months, I get around 30-50$ worth of Dimes, nickles, and quarters. It's nice to go turn it into a bank and suddenly have 30-50$ in bills, ready to spend on something nice.

I do the same thing. I actually made a vase type thing in my 3D art class last year that holds around $50-$75 in change so when it starts to get full I take it to the bank and claim my prize :D

Oh [cabbage], forgot your are not "allowed" to bring a lighter to school in America.

Those stupid rules have never stopped me before. I basically take whatever I want to school, I'm just not stupid enough to pull it out near cameras or authority figures.

needless to say.. if I want her in my bed.. I have to have money. -.-

Where have I heard that before... :uhh: :-w

Anyway, I just keep my change, then later exchange it for bills.

When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!"

I'm another saver. What doesn't get spent (usually the pennies) gets put into the coin jar and, eventually, taken to the bank.

My mother is another saver. She recently called me and told me that she finally took all the change she'd been saving for at least several years to the bank (she's the type that spends the dollars and throws the coins on her dresser or in a drawer). She said it came to almost 1000 dollars. Talk about saving!

When my Grandmother was younger and my Grandfather was still alive, they'd make coins into jewelry, belt buckles, cuff links, etc.

well, in america ive heard that the penny might be discontinued as it now costs more to produce than its worth.

change under quarters is worthless to me, and i rarely use it. setting prices to strange amounts like $1.99 or $3.97 is simply a marketing technique. most people (and yes, people can be stupid) will look at an item priced at say $1.98 and think it it under $2.00 instinctively.

Every penny counts. :ohnoes: I try to save some change so that I can pay the cents at least, and the dollar amounts I can get some bills back instead of a huge handful of coins. At the moment I have a nice piggy bank full of pennies. Eventually I'm gonna have to go to the bank and get some rolls for the pennies and exchange them for bills.

I used to spit on them and throw them away, see if anyone picks them up.

(Pretty sad but kinda funny, don't do it now though)

Now I try amass few dollars from change every school term and buy chips and drink on the last day ::'

Oh and I also throw it sometimes cos theres a guy who will run after any money trown, no matter where it goes, its entertaining for like half a minute.

I have cousins in Australia. They told me the Aussies removed the penny entirely and just round up to the nearest 5 cents for prices. Can anyone confirm this? I think it might be pretty interesting. The penny costs more to create than to spend, right? And the fact that millions of pennies are tossed in the garbage, dropped on the ground, or thrown in water fountains.

A long time ago, when I was in a different school, we completely surrounded the building with a line of 2p and 1p coins, then donated the lot to comic relief.

A good one is to superglue them to the pavement, and see who tries to pick it up.

Always fun to do, not fun when a builder comes along with a chisel and nicks your money though...

Well, apparently here in the U.S. they've decided, once again, to keep the penny despite the fact it sometimes takes more money to make it than it's worth. I wish we'd do away with it and just round to the nearest 5 cents for pricing. It would make more sense.

Yes. Yes we do.

I buy sour straps with my change. Sour straps are great. Or gummie bears.
