God I hate those. Especially when you need an extra 2 or 3 cents to make a purchase and the cashier gives you a dirty look as if you're stealing his 3 cents.

My cat loves sleeping on my loose change... she also likes sleeping on marbles or on a cold surface...

 

 

 

needless to say.. if I want her in my bed.. I have to have money. -.-

I have found that change is a good way to build up a small bonus after a few months. Each time I get change, I just plop it on my side table, and when there is too much, I organize it. After about 6 months, I get around 30-50$ worth of Dimes, nickles, and quarters. It's nice to go turn it into a bank and suddenly have 30-50$ in bills, ready to spend on something nice.

 

 

 

I do the same thing. I actually made a vase type thing in my 3D art class last year that holds around $50-$75 in change so when it starts to get full I take it to the bank and claim my prize :D

Those stupid rules have never stopped me before. I basically take whatever I want to school, I'm just not stupid enough to pull it out near cameras or authority figures.

Anyway, I just keep my change, then later exchange it for bills.

I also keep all my change at the bottom of my purse. I try not to spend it... it makes a pretty good weapon. :mrgreen:

I'm another saver. What doesn't get spent (usually the pennies) gets put into the coin jar and, eventually, taken to the bank.

 

 

 

My mother is another saver. She recently called me and told me that she finally took all the change she'd been saving for at least several years to the bank (she's the type that spends the dollars and throws the coins on her dresser or in a drawer). She said it came to almost 1000 dollars. Talk about saving!

 

 

 

When my Grandmother was younger and my Grandfather was still alive, they'd make coins into jewelry, belt buckles, cuff links, etc.

change under quarters is worthless to me, and i rarely use it. setting prices to strange amounts like $1.99 or $3.97 is simply a marketing technique. most people (and yes, people can be stupid) will look at an item priced at say $1.98 and think it it under $2.00 instinctively.

Every penny counts. :ohnoes: I try to save some change so that I can pay the cents at least, and the dollar amounts I can get some bills back instead of a huge handful of coins. :lol: At the moment I have a nice piggy bank full of pennies. Eventually I'm gonna have to go to the bank and get some rolls for the pennies and exchange them for bills.

I usually just pocket them. They get lost in the washing machine anyway.

i keep them in a tin in a locked drawer in my desk. i had a good collection of almost $50 australian but then my brother brought home chocolates for a chocolate money making thing so ive spent all my $2 coins on that. i wish i hadn't though, stupid addictive chocolate.

I used to spit on them and throw them away, see if anyone picks them up.

The penny costs more to create than to spend, right? And the fact that millions of pennies are tossed in the garbage, dropped on the ground, or thrown in water fountains.

My friends like to roll 2p coins out of the windows at school. I reckon there's about £10 in 2p's on the lower roof bit. :lol:

Well, apparently here in the U.S. they've decided, once again, to keep the penny despite the fact it sometimes takes more money to make it than it's worth. I buy sour straps with my change. Sour straps are great. Or gummie bears.

Out of curiosity I rolled up all my change, came out to be $173 plus about $3 I couldn't roll. Probably not going to turn it in for a while, I always feel stupid when I do that for some reason.
