Kashi
The other day I was in the bathroom wetting my hair down, and when I stood up to shake the water out of my hair (as I typically do) I got a horrible stabbing pain right in the center of my head ... ... and since then I've had the weirdest dreams and freakiest nightmares, all night, every night. I just dreamed an old fat guy named 'Shibidale' tried to set me up on a blind date with his 13 year old daughter 'Radiohead'. Also the other night I dreamed my own death in about 10 different ways. And the weird thing is, I usually only remember one or two of my dreams, but now I'm remembering like 5-10 a night, with vivid detail. My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race. However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.
Lenticular_J
Doesn't mean you have a brain tumor. You had a wierd dream and your head hurt. Seriously, if that means you have a brain tumor, then mine must be a [kitty], since it hasn't killed me for nine years. Might as well go to a doctor or something, see if they can give you sleeping medicines. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
Kashi
Furthermore, I don't know if anyone's ever heard of a phenomenon called 'Sleep Paralysis'? There's actually a part of your brain that paralyzes your body while you're asleep to prevent you from acting out your dreams. If this part of your brain isn't working straight (usually from psychological reasons, but there is an actual disorder that causes it too) then you get a sleepwalker, and if it's overactive ... you get sleep paralysis. The second thing you should remember is that when a person's air is cut off while they're asleep, they'll wake up immediately. So if you roll over in your sleep and end up face down in your pillows, unable to breathe, you'll wake up after a few moments and roll back over because you couldn't get any air. Unless you experience 'Sleep Paralysis' ... ... in which case, you sit there, usually for 30 seconds to a full minute, barely getting enough oxygen to stay conscious, totally disoriented from having just been asleep, and trying to will your body out of immobility. This has happened to me about 3-4 nights a week since I was a kid, but ever since that incident in the bathroom it's been happening almost every night, and during the day as well (I have 2 hours between classes, so I'll often take a nap in the hallway while I wait, and it's been happening to me without fail during these naps). So I'm pretty sure for these reasons, plus the fact that the right side of my head is very slightly swollen and won't go down, that I have seriously messed up something in my head. My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race. However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.
atronic92
I've had a pain like that, usually I think nothing of it; it just happens sometimes, like when I'm tired. If you really think it could be a brain tumor, you could talk to a doctor and he would probably tell you of other symptoms to watch for. Usually it seems that you can tell when there is something wrong with you; if you can't shake your feelings of uneasiness in a week, going to a doctor might be a good idea. I really hope that you don't have a tumor. One of my friends died of a brain tumor when he was 12.  Reading your second post, there can't be any harm in going to a doctor. If you are concerned, I urge you to see one. Dizzle229
It's better than a post from waaay back. I remember a guy who said he had a brain tumor or cancer or something, and that was his goodbye thread. Everyone gave sympathy. This was back in 2004. I thought "Wow, that's kind of sad". I then looked at his recent posts. He posted again in 2006 :ohnoes: Get back here so I can rub your butt.

db300
I get pains in my head too, but in the side. It hurts really bad but for only 5-10 seconds at a time, and only once or twice a week. It's been going on since I was in elementary school though so it's not as if getting a pain means you have a tumor. Either way though, if it is bothering you to the point of being seriously worried, just go to a doctor.

I get that maybe once every 2-3 months. It's quite frightening. The worst part is, I'll wake up but then fall asleep again in the same position, meaning it happens again, and again, and again. Ouchy
I really hope that for your sake, it isn't a brain tumor, as those are nasty little devils. I would urge you to go to a doctor and get it checked out, and see if it is a brain tumor, or if it is something else. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
venomai
There's actually a part of your brain that paralyzes your body while you're asleep to prevent you from acting out your dreams. If this part of your brain isn't working straight (usually from psychological reasons, but there is an actual disorder that causes it too) then you get a sleepwalker, and if it's overactive ... you get sleep paralysis. Sleepwalking occurs during slow-wave sleep. During this stage of sleep, you can experience "dream-thoughts," but you will not experience the same full-blown dreams that you would in REM stage. REM sleep behaviour disorder (loss of muscle atonia, i.e. not a full paralysis) can result in twitches and movements during sleep (rarely full sleepwalking), but this disorder is usually seen in older persons (around 60 years old). A lot of people experience sleep paralysis, and it can even be induced with enough will and determination. During atonia, your respiratory muscles are spared from paralysis. Even if your breathing feels shortened, your body will ensure that you have enough oxygen. It's important to relax as best you can -- sleep paralysis may be an unpleasant feeling, but it poses no immediate risks to your health, and panicking will only make things feel worse. So I'm pretty sure for these reasons, plus the fact that the right side of my head is very slightly swollen and won't go down Get that checked out immediately. An increase in dream recall and sleep paralysis isn't necessarily a bad sign, but things like pain and swelling are not normal. PS: Sleeping in the hallway between classes? Do you often get daytime sleepiness? If so, you may want to also ask your doctor about narcolepsy. It's pretty common for narcoleptics to experience sleep paralysis.
