RuneScape in a way can teach you bad things too. Like when a "Mysterious Old Man" gives you a "mysterious box".

Really, tbh, I doubt any kid in real life would open that  Didn't parents ever teach their kids not to take things from strangers?!

Runescape help me learn english  :D \:D/

i came to canada when i was 10, and my cousin introduce me to runescape, we play runescape everyday lol, then in like 1 year i understook almost everything the npc said

and now gloves and mittens still confused me  #-o

I can't even start to explain how much RS has helped me out IRL.

Well, first there is typing...

I'd never be able to type as good or as fast as i can now if it wasn't for RS.

And grammar is another things.

I was never good at it, nor was i good at spelling. But whenever i play RS, i take on this logical side of me that doesn't show much IRL.

And math working.

I was really good with math all through school and up to now. But i figure out my problems differently then anyone i know. I'd memorize all basic math problems instead of quickly figuring them out in my head. And RS has done nothing but reinforce that.

*9 times 3 is 27, so that means i can ectofungus 9 bones every trip and still have 1 more slot for my ectophial*

Getting 60 prayer, that was going through my head all day today.

Oh and I am a master at those sliding puzzles now. \'

OHHH, and that's another thing. Sliding Puzzles, i rock at them now too!

And also a few other things...

I've always liked crafting weaponry, out of what ever i can find(wood, sticks, leather, sting, fabric, you name it).

It started when i started playing 'The Legend of Zelda' when i was 7. And thanks to RuneScape, i can now make decent bows that fire far, and arrows that fly well. GIVE IT UP FOR IRL FLINCHING!

And i know almost every weapon that they used back then. Like one day, when we had a bunch of friends over, we where playing Blurt. Basically, You're given a description, and you have to guess the word based on that information. And one of them was 'a light spear that is thrown from a distance'. Since i thought it was so easy, I'd let someone else answer it. But a minute passed, and no one answered. So i yelled 'Javelin!'. And everyone, including Lizze (who was holding the answer card) was starring at me like i was a crazy person. And another one that i thought was too easy was 'A large piece of steel or iron that Blacksmiths use to shape metal'. Witch, of course was a Anvil.

And since i know all about these prices going up and down in RS, some times i explain it to someone in my family that knows nothing about the RS economy. And they always say that i should invest in stock when I'm older because i have this knowledge.

And steel is not made out of coal and iron @__@ It's made out of 98% iron and 2% carbon or less. The RS recipe for steel is messed up.

The coal is used to heat the furnace to a higher temp thus, heating the iron, removing impurities from the ore. Making stronger, and in the process, creating steel.

That's why runite ore requires 8, because more impurities in the ore needs a hotter furnace. Of course runite metal isn't real, it's just an example how the thought that was put into this game.

What'd I learn from RS? That small, furry rodents explode on impact. Oh yeah, and how to avoid a censor. You know, important skills I'll be needing for the rest of my life *cough*

I had a question on one of those standardized-test-thingers that was somthing along the lines of "Using your knowledge of latin roots, determine the definition of the word 'Regicide'."

It also helped me learn about a few different trees and a little bit about metals.

QUACK!

After playing runescape for a few years i can now type very fast.

Before i started runescape i was still scrolling around the key board looking for different letters and now im typing like the wind!

Ah runescape. good times good times.

You spelled grammar wrong. :> Keep playing more! :D

Didn't say anything about Spelling.

Spelling = as always

Spaz4010.png

my spelling probably hasn't improved much, but my typing is unbelievable. i use to type with just two fingers, one on each hand.

now I type with all 10 XD

I'm actually very proud of it.

Sumondskull6.png

Well, thanks to Runescape, if I ever get a question on a test that asks "What is the 100% drop of a mithril dragon?", I know i'll get it right.

Love is the most powerful thing on Earth, unless you have access to weaponry. Seriously, it's no match for even a rudimentary knife.

With the help of thr RSOF and all the newbs there, my debating skills are really good. Along with the being able to type uber fast lol

I cant remember, but one time Rs helped me i cant remember what it wastho

But anywho lol

Yeah, I've learnt a bit of stuff from RS. When I first started my typing was really bad, but after a while I've gotten alot better. It's alsohelped me with other random things like medieval weaponary and what flax is. Good ol' RuneScape! \'

How come some of my problems in real life cannot be solved by playing Runescape while many of you guys are being successful?

Break the Walls down!

It has taught me about the American economy...

HAR HAR YOU IS FUNY WIT UR POLITICAL JOKEZ

so-not-funny.jpg

While your at it, explain how America kills wolves and gets red helmets that are worth millions of dollars, or the fact that burgerking hats are the most expensive items in the market.

Wow, you're quite the jerk. Maybe I misread basiliko's comment, but there are strong correlations. First of all, the GE is a simplified stock exchange like the NYSE or DOW Jones, two massive components of the American economy. Secondly, the ebb and flow of runescape prices illustrates a Laissez-Faire style economy, in which item supply and demand (among other factors such as newness, rares like phats, etc.) create capitalistic fluctuations in price. Thirdly, like government intervention in an economy, Jagex will sometimes affect the rarity or power of an item to raise/lower demand for it, like a price floor/ceiling, tariff, etc.

Your absurdly literal analysis displays thought process clearly below that of basiliko, because the connections are clearly there. Also, Sarah Palin kills wolves, and she was almost vice president of America  So next time you wanna call someone stupid, make sure you're smarter than they are first. Cheers!

I learned about time difference in the world so now I dont have to think to know about what time of day it is at other places.

Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

i used to be terrible at abrieviating my words, but now i do it all the time

koolchicken1.png

I is more betterer at grammar than I used to be  Nah but seriously I can't really say that it's helped me much but it hasn't hurt me either seeing as I read ALOT so the reading I do overpowers the brain rotting that occurs during play (joke) so what I'm saying in the most drawn-out way I could stand is that it doesn't help me

P.S.-I love the brain rotting <3:

I learned timezones. Sadly most Brits and Americans haven't.

Nothing has really "helped" me, but when I see things that RS has in RL, I get it. Like the yew bow and glassmaking.

Templar Guardians

When are trying to lend something, the word to use is borrow. Not barrows, which is a mini-game.

actually, i have been using many shortcuts in typing while playing rs (e.g.- "u", "r", "nvm"), and i ended up doing that while writing essays. one of my friends copied a storyline from one of the quests and turned it into an essay, handed it in and got an F because apparently our teacher played runescape and remembers that storyline.....

lmao so funny :P
