my junior and senior year i had a ton of vocabulary words that r pretty much everyday in rs wether they r said by players or npc's or jagex and it helped alot with spelling and definitions as for math i always cheated in math classes so if it werent for rs i wouldnt know basic math at all lol

lol well sometimes i type to fast that i misspell words :P

lol taught me how to type, that steel is made frm iron and coal and i now can do calculations in my head faster coz of the constant maths required in rs!

RS does not really help with much, mostly typing skills and quick math. At least thats what I thought. To be honest, RS helped me the most when I took economics . I got one of the highest grades in the class, and thats saying something for a C/B grade person. Got like 97% or so. The thing that rs helped the most with was demand laws and such, along with inflation and deflation ;) . Heck, my teacher even let me do my final presentation on the "economics of mining in runescape", and I aced it :lol:

I remember when I was doing A-level chemistry I knew the basic metals needed to make steel, thanks to Runescape i guess.

 

 

 

Other than that, it has only really helped me in meeting my boyfriend as he sometimes plays runescape and it gave us something to talk about when we first met.

 

 

 

I would like to add though, we didnt meet through runescape :-P

How does my logic say that woodcutting in real life is like RS woodcutting? I'm not saying that every aspect of the game is paralleled, but there are some basic similarities. I'm not pointing out any actual realism in the game, once again don't be so literal.

Patience, perserverance, loads of maths, general info about weapons, profit & loss, break even (mostly due to GE), some english, some unusual creatures. And the rest...

a LOT. i did a speech on.... yup about runescape for english about how cool it is and why people play runescape got first at my school...went to next round first.. lol and then southland finals where you on a stage infront of like 300 people and i talked about runescape it was very good subject. then after i walked off the stage some guy yelled out.. "n00b i pwn you" haha i just laughed but that how it helped me.. sorry for my english/grammer :(

Runescape has extended my english vocabulary. In an english class a couple of hours ago I could explain the difference between borrow and lend. I would'nt have been able to do that if I had'nt played runescape:p

 

 

 

It is with runescape as with all games, you will learn small things while playing, and you'll have fun with it. Playing games can be an easier way to obtain knowledge than anything else!:)

well its helped me in school with words that are in rs..

runescape helped me increase my english in the past two years i have never learned for an english exam and at the end of the past two years a 8,5 was my average erm number? i dont know how to call that. it increased my maths, economy, knowledge and incredibly increased my english vocabulary (pot of flour helped me to win a quiz lol!)

You were saying the American economy and Runescape economy were similar, you were the one being literal, trying to justify the fact that you can learn about one by looking at the other, so, with that applied logic I can do the same for most things similar in RS.

I have learned to type english better, and type faster.

The main thing that RuneScape has taught me is doing basic math in my head. With the constant calculating of exp per hour, money spent, how to save money etc. Also, it shows how to manage your time well to get the most out of every minute/hour/day.

I do a lot of basic calculations in my head too, and rates of anything is what Iv become very good at lately.

 

Also, my typing speed has improved almost ten fold since when I started, and, Iv been able to formulate sentences better and use better words from just using forums and having to talk to different types of people.

Runescape has taught me many different things about even my everyday life. The game has taught me about economics in general, doing math quickly in my head. Just in the past three weeks I have used basic math in my head to figure out how fast my basketball's team down and backs are. We average about 7 seconds to get to one end of the court. (that is with 6 down in backs in 72 seconds.)

 

 

 

Other things are just generally, typing, I knew a little bit about most things, but without runescape here I would have just forgot about all of these things and they would have gone un-used for a long time... All in all runescape has just taught me patience and time management.

its also helped me learn rules befor i would always get introuble and no i dont get introuble in scholl or around the house i guess that helps also

Last friday we had a English test in the class. It counted for my schoolexam. We had a text and we had to translate 27 english words.

 

Today we had ours (marks? Numbers?) I had a 7.2 ( Scale 1-10). There we 3 people who scored above the 5.5. ( Under the 5.5 is not good)

 

Most of the words i had to translate were words wich are used in Runescape :D
