November 7, 200817 yr It has taught me about the American economy... HAR HAR YOU IS FUNY WIT UR POLITICAL JOKEZ While your at it, explain how America kills wolves and gets red helmets that are worth millions of dollars, or the fact that burgerking hats are the most expensive items in the market. Wow, you're quite the jerk. Maybe I misread basiliko's comment, but there are strong correlations. First of all, the GE is a simplified stock exchange like the NYSE or DOW Jones, two massive components of the American economy. Secondly, the ebb and flow of runescape prices illustrates a Laissez-Faire style economy, in which item supply and demand (among other factors such as newness, rares like phats, etc.) create capitalistic fluctuations in price. Thirdly, like government intervention in an economy, Jagex will sometimes affect the rarity or power of an item to raise/lower demand for it, like a price floor/ceiling, tariff, etc. Your absurdly literal analysis displays thought process clearly below that of basiliko, because the connections are clearly there. Also, Sarah Palin kills wolves, and she was almost vice president of America  So next time you wanna call someone stupid, make sure you're smarter than they are first. Cheers! His joke was that the RS economy is down the tubes, and the political joke was that Americans cant manage their economy, so it ends up like the RS one. Now that I explained it to you; its even more un-funny. Also, according to your logic, I can say woodcutting in real life is like RS woodcutting. Same trees, same axes. Now where do the shades come in? And birds nest with diamond rings in them? 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th

November 7, 200817 yr lol taught me how to type, that steel is made frm iron and coal and i now can do calculations in my head faster coz of the constant maths required in rs!
November 7, 200817 yr RS does not really help with much, mostly typing skills and quick math. At least thats what I thought. To be honest, RS helped me the most when I took economics . I got one of the highest grades in the class, and thats saying something for a C/B grade person. Got like 97% or so. The thing that rs helped the most with was demand laws and such, along with inflation and deflation ;) . Heck, my teacher even let me do my final presentation on the "economics of mining in runescape", and I aced it  [hide]Come, be my light.Mingle with my darknessMay we mix to createOur own twilight sunsetThe dusk breezeSpreading cloudsOn our murky horizon~Darkpoet837~[/hide]
November 7, 200817 yr alot of times in classes, and i aced my english epic fantasy essay, but i have to becareful what i say because in my school, runescape is deemed "gay", "nerdy" "for ******** only" etc :( :? :| DK's Drops: 7 Berserker Rings, 2 Warrior Ring, 1 Archers Ring, 7 Dragon Hatchet, 1 Seercull, 3 Elite Clue - All SoloGWD Drops (CS): 1 Bandos Chestplate, 2 Armadyl Hilt, 1 Armadyl ChestplateSlayer:1 D skirt, 2 Whip, 12 G Mauls, 2 Dragon Boots
November 7, 200817 yr I remember when I was doing A-level chemistry I knew the basic metals needed to make steel, thanks to Runescape i guess. Other than that, it has only really helped me in meeting my boyfriend as he sometimes plays runescape and it gave us something to talk about when we first met. I would like to add though, we didnt meet through runescape :-P

I'm not saying that every aspect of the game is paralleled, but there are some basic similarities. I'm not pointing out any actual realism in the game, once again don't be so literal. And thanks for pointing out the joke in that statement, I took a break from the game and didn't realize the RS economy was busy taking a nose dive.
November 7, 200817 yr Patience, perserverance, loads of maths, general info about weapons, profit & loss, break even (mostly due to GE), some english, some unusual creatures. And the rest...

November 7, 200817 yr Runescape has extended my english vocabulary. In an english class a couple of hours ago I could explain the difference between borrow and lend. I would'nt have been able to do that if I had'nt played runescape:p It is with runescape as with all games, you will learn small things while playing, and you'll have fun with it. Playing games can be an easier way to obtain knowledge than anything else!:) Skeletal wyvern guide: 100-150 crimsons per hour and PROFIT

November 7, 200817 yr The main thing that RuneScape has taught me is doing basic math in my head. With the constant calculating of exp per hour, money spent, how to save money etc. Also, it shows how to manage your time well to get the most out of every minute/hour/day. Yep, same here. I do a lot of basic calculations in my head too, and rates of anything is what Iv become very good at lately. Also, my typing speed has improved almost ten fold since when I started, and, Iv been able to formulate sentences better and use better words from just using forums and having to talk to different types of people. same here.
November 7, 200817 yr Runescape has taught me many different things about even my everyday life. The game has taught me about economics in general, doing math quickly in my head. Just in the past three weeks I have used basic math in my head to figure out how fast my basketball's team down and backs are. We average about 7 seconds to get to one end of the court. (that is with 6 down in backs in 72 seconds.) Other things are just generally, typing, I knew a little bit about most things, but without runescape here I would have just forgot about all of these things and they would have gone un-used for a long time... All in all runescape has just taught me patience and time management. Summoning help:[hide=Wio, lol][/hide]
November 7, 200817 yr runescape has help me with alot of things i can now type 5 sentences a min. it also told me hoe to spell =P and it has made me alot more patient. its also helped me learn rules befor i would always get introuble and no i dont get introuble in scholl or around the house i guess that helps also Dragon Dagger: 40 K Dark Bow: 1M Seeing the look on someone's face as you're speccing them for 40's four times in a row: Priceless.
November 7, 200817 yr Last friday we had a English test in the class. It counted for my schoolexam. We had a text and we had to translate 27 english words. Today we had ours (marks? Numbers?) I had a 7.2 ( Scale 1-10). There we 3 people who scored above the 5.5. ( Under the 5.5 is not good) Most of the words i had to translate were words wich are used in Runescape :D
