Simple question, does Print or crusrive affect anything professional in people's lives? My dad told me that I should write my resume in cursive, but then agian. I mainly right print except for my name, which I write cursive in.

 

 

 

So what I'm asking, does different types of hand writing effect anything important in life? Like resumes, speeches, articles ect..

 

TBH I only use crusive when writing my name :oops: I almost forgot how to do each letter except the ones in my name :|

I got my mom to write my resume (as I dictated) because my handwriting is bird crap.

I don't see how writing a speech in cursive would matter considering you're the only one reading it :? . As for articles, those are in newspapers/magazines so they're always in print. In general, people prefer if you write in print as it is generally more readable by everyone. As long as your writing is legible, you'll be fine.

I always write in print, never learned cursive.

I can write in both, but cursive takes me way too long, a total waste of my time. If teachers want it done in handwriting, I do it in printing anyways.

I haven't written in cursive for a loooong time. I don't even remember it.

I write everything in print besides my signature (which is actually print connected in ways that make it look like cursive). It's been so long since I've had to write in cursive that I can't anymore. Thinking about it, I can barely read it.

I write cursive, but it's so unreadable that a page of my writing looks like someone was just experimenting with signatures.

Always print. Most schools do teach cursive too, but I, too, sure as heck can't write it in a fashion that makes it readable to (many) outsiders. It's been so many years since I even wrote a small excerpt of text in cursive.

 

 

 

Then again, your best bet is making a CV/resume by OpenOffice or a similar computer program... Guarantees readability to everyone.

Firstly... your resume should be typed and not hand written. That out of the way, I write in a mixture, sometimes I start printing then it merges into some offset mix of the two, it's a little strange really but meh.

This board has inspired me to start learning how to write in cursive (properly) :/

I was going for a Declaration of Independance look on mine.

I can hardly even read cursive. Print is always better, and being able to print Helvetica would be awesome.

i prefer print better

print ftw. cursive takes too long and ur hand has to do all this unnecessary maneuvering. However my print is kind of wierd and original i think. its print but i attack the ends of the word to the beginning of a new one.

Honestly.I use print,I think but I write so fast and uncaringly its almost always either cursive and illegible.Or left-leaning like my political views,apparently.

In my days at school, and that's a while ago, but not exactly ages either, you were obliged to write in cursive. I don't really know how to write in print... and in cursive has a lot more style and personality, I think. Then again, I hardly ever write anything by hand anymore. Only shopping lists and the sort.

Seconded. Your employer will wonder if you're even able to use a computer correctly if you can't even type a resume.

 

 

 

I haven't written in cursive in about 10 years now. I was taught how, but I have terrible handwriting, and the teachers prefered me to write in print so they could grade it.

Same for me. That's why when i try to write in print it always turns in some mix of the two.

 

 

 

OT: Your resume shoud be typed as some others said, much neater and better chance to get the job. Heck, nowadays, I pretty much only type when I write, except in the french class where the teacher doesn't want us to use our laptops/college laptops.

I print, as I still can't find someone who can read my cursive (even I can't)
