Same. I can think of a lot of things that I'd rather do than a clue scroll.

 

I agree. i havent had a single good drop so i gave up and i rather lvl something or do anything else, than sit infront of a puzzle...

My current pathway to the last 1.2m exp for 99 range is to hunt clues and try to fill up my costume. I find them fun, enjoyable, and nice, even if the rewards aren't. The only reason I did Underground Pass so many years ago was to finish a coordinate I got that was there. I only got 63 fishing to pie my way into the Guild to do Uri's emotes. I've never had a reward above 600k, but that doesn't matter, I find them fun, which is what this game is all about.

Havn't done clues since 78 or so slayer, I'm 92 slayer atm and don't regret it at all. \

I still enjoy clue scrolls, although i find lvl 3's frustrating sometimes. -.- I know I won't get a huge sum of cash from it, because everything in them has become just about worthless (like those mage comps i keep getting, 6k ea.) I never get much money, but I still have a little bit of fun, since it's like opening a present, you never know what you're gunna get.

 

 

 

On a different note, i have a question. Can you get more than one clue scroll at a time? I would be grateful to anyone able to help.

Since April I have constantly hunted avians for the clues and would leave immediately after getting 1. My rewards were great and my junk was limited. On average I would do 3 clues per 3 hours of play and get over 1.5 mil for the 3 clues. Including what the Avians dropped that was a net profit of close to 4 mill in a 3 hour period. But after I did the Legacy of Seergaze quest the ratio of clues stayed the same but the value dropped to just over 300k for 3 clues and the time increased to almost 50 minutes to complete a clue.

 

Between April and when I did the quest I played 5 hours a day, every day and got rich. My total rewards were sara, guthix, and zammy full rune and the full blessed d' hide. But after I did the quest (which was at the end of October) the best I have gotten from a clue 2 peices of rune armour.

 

Looking back at these numbers I started doing vyrewatch cremation and immediately started getting more money per hour of play just killing vyrewatch and creamating their remains than i was killing avians (which btw I kill under 100 per clue) but that has changed again thanks to RuneScapes newest quest.

As I am F2P i can't do clue scrolls, but I feel that I would do them whenever possible. Just the chance of making a few million would make it fun for me.

I always do my clues, and in fact, hunt for them. I don't hunt for level 3 though, I hunt for level 2. Why? Level 2 are usually quite easy, but are still fun, and still have decent rewards. No multi million gp items, but they do have the trimmed addy and green dhide items, which give decent rewards from being f2p. The god cloaks are anouther good set of items that level 2 clues have to offer : . Imo, level 3 clues hardly seem worth it for all the extra work you do for them. Guess its just a matter of choice. Oh, and my best reward from a clue came from a level 2, a Guthix cloak back when it was still 800-900k \ .

i used to do every clue i got after slayer tasks, but then i kept reciveing clues where i had to have certain quests done or started..

so i end up dropping most now, too much effort to get 5 steps in to drop it because of a quest only area. :twisted:

It can be worth it (economically) for some people.

 

It all depends on wether if you are good at making money in another way... I for example have had my current clue scroll in the bank for around 9 months... because i am able to earn money in more efficient ways, and also i'd rather train my skills than hunt for money... and it isn't because i hvan't got any high price rewards... i have gotten robin hood hat and several other things.. but i just feel i have quicker and more efficient ways to earn cash

I do every clue I get, no matter how bad of a luck I've had with rewards. And sometimes the rewards will make your eyes shine of happiness, other times you just have to swallow the slight sadness of a crappy reward. But overall, clues are definitely worth doing. You just got to have hope in them, that's all.

I enjoy clues personally, even though they haven't given me a good reward in a while. Though i can't complain much :-# , 6 months ago a pyrefiend dropped a lvl 2 clue, and as a reward i got some ranger boots when they were worth about 4.5m :o. Since that glorious day though my rewards have been pitiful, but I still do em. :lol:

the first clue i got sat in my bank for like a year cause i was too lazy to get the coordinate equipment. :wall:

 

 

 

the last couple ive done a lvl 1 and a lvl 3 both stunk

You can get more then one at a time, but it is a hassle to do so.

 

If you drop a clue you already have, then get a clue as a drop from the monster your killing, then pick the first clue up, you have 2 clues. ;)

Same thing here... All I get are cheap rune items and useless furniture. I could probably make more money spending the time it takes to do a clue picking flax. Something is wrong here if a level 3 clue < flax. I used to eagerly do every clue I got, but now they are next to useless. They just aren't fun anymore because I used to imagine myself getting something good, but after a few level 3 clues that cost more to solve than I got from the reward I mostly gave up If you still find them fun then more power to you, but for the rest of us it's time to move on to other things if they aren't fixed.

Considering that an average clue gives me the same gp as 1 trip to the astral altar crafting runes I don't do them anymore. :|

I've been doing clues for ages and i have gotten 1-2 good rewards.

 

Recently I was lucky enough to get a mask, I don't remember what kind it was though , which i sold for about 7 mil.

 

Everything else has been pretty bad but that may be because most clues I do are lvl 2.

 

I can only hope that my current clue will give me something good and that it will be worth the lvl 50 ranged requrement.

When 3rd age came out I would quit a slayer task to do a scroll. Now they aren't that exciting but I still do 1 per task.

 

I have all the stuff used in all lvl 3 clues in my treasure tail tab and I use lunar magics so I can get around very quickly.

 

 

 

I have recently started doing level 2 clues that you get from Dagganoths and kind of like them. Maybe they are better money than level 3s if you think about masks and stuff.

 

 

 

They are still fun to do and I'll keep doing them.

I do every clue I get regardless of reward because I actually enjoy the puzzles and it's a nice break away from a long slayer task.

 

 

 

I also rarely make under 50k on any given level 3 clue which takes me about 20 minutes to do. That combined with loot from slayer kills really add up for me.

 

 

 

It's also really nice after a lot of bad clues, I do finally get a "rare" item, be it purple sweets (rare to me anyways) to a piece of blessed d'hide armor or Rune trimmed armor. it brightens me day a lot :thumbsup:

Did anyone else notice that the announcement on the main page of the new Times article says Treasure trials? :-# But yeah, f2p, so I've never done Treasure Trails, but I think they sound like fun, so I probably would if I was a member. But who knows?

i have a screenie of 2 clues laying on the ground however it isn't possible to pick both up... you have to choose :P
