CookMePlox
I have an idea: We could use waypoint markers to locate where we are in relation to the world map. We could plot out everything. We'd have to use two points, and use the direction of the arrow, to find out where things are on the map.I already did it to find out if the smoke dungeon at the Tower of Life was real, it wasn't the real one. Well, not only can we prove our hypotheses right or wrong, we can even triangulate where everything is on the single plane. I already did it for the Water Altar, using a 90 degree angle (going south) and a 45 degree angle (going southwest), and came up with an approximation of where the water altar actually is on the single plane. It's way off of the main map.Anyway, we could make an entire map of the whole plane of RuneScape, because it seems like it's all on one level. Ned
That is true, I actually have been using them and a lot of the finds have been confirmed. I've been really busy for the past few months but I will try my best to update the first post. Glad to see people are still interested in this. Want to help the Tip.It Crew? svs
There's loads of areas surrounding agility plunder minigame, i hadn't my orb with me but i could see that there's a floor above one of the rooms where the mummy is not in and there's flat pieces of land near some of the rooms and other kinds of land near the other rooms. The Runar
[hide][/hide]This is from the HQ in Quiet Before the Swarm, I think it's the ship used later in the quest but I'm not sure [hide][/hide]Void Knight outpost and Pest Control are next to each other, no surprise there [hide][/hide]From the runite resource dungeon, I guess all resource dungeons (except the one with willows and maples) are next to each other. SwreeTak
Wow, that is a lot of nice discoveries. It really seems like there really are a lot of dungeons "below", or how to say it, our normal world in Runescape. I have seen how some places are misplaced in the game when I have been playing in HD myself, but I have always thought that there were just a few of these, and that they were random generated errors. But this thread proves that this isn't the case. Very interesting and fascinating, in my opinion. If I see one of these places again, I will be sure to upload it here and share it with you guys. Awesome work everyone. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

Zargo_VI
I saw this in the dungeon below Artisan's Workshop. Doesn't show up in the map but by stretching out the window it appears.Took from different angles. K4ylan
The Runescape map is pretty much like Pokémon; any "special" areas (dungeons, areas you are teleported to, etc.) are just separate areas thrown in the blank spaces all over the map. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~
WolfieMario
You know what's great? I was in Draynor Sewer, using Orb of Oculus, and I noticed the Artisan's Workshop is visible from it. Then I came here and saw Zargo's post :P Also, something bothers me: On the Agility Pyramid's duplicate/IA (you'll know you're in it when textures change, lighting changes, the fog becomes a little darker, and there are no more sliding blocks), I can't manage to get the Orb to exit the limits of the area. When it hits the edge of the duplicated map, it just stops moving altogether, as though I've reached my panning limit. But if I go one floor below, back to the regular RuneScape, I can pan much farther than I can in the duplicate. Has Jagex nerfed using the Orb to find hidden places? Ned
I do remember when I first posted this topic, over time a lot of methods we had previously used (coordinates, follow player) to get orientation started to get patched. It could be coincidental but maybe they are pushing immersion on players rather than allowing us to see these things. Personally I think this kind of investigating is more interesting than environment/game immersion... I would not be surprised if they set strict pan limits in instanced areas. I guess they think some players would have their gaming experienced "ruined" or something if they saw Waterbirth Dungeon next to Pyramid Plunder. I've gone back to use the orb of oculus in places where we had found hidden areas prior to orb release, and some of these areas don't exist anymore from what I can tell (they were probably moved). I doubt Jagex had been intently scanning this topic for things to patch though. Want to help the Tip.It Crew? Visit the Website Updates & Corrections forum! WolfieMario
Well, some areas disappearing may have a connection to the release of underground maps - it is possible they've started reorganizing the areas to actually match the underground maps, rather than just making the map draw data from separate areas of the world. But I also wouldn't be surprised if there actually is a specific pan limit added to the OoO for IAs, most likely added when they gave us the Fine Control mode.
