This thread is about all that weird and unusual food you have eaten.

You can put in one-offs and also food you eat on a regualr/daily basis, but due to cultural difference it can be called weird.

So occaisonly I have lotus root pickled and lotus root as a main meal.

Also, today I had popped lotus seeds. Mmmm, tasty.

One off weird food/drink must be when I first tried proper Chinese tea with those pearl thignies, I thought they were goat eyes!

I'll eat just about anything at all, I wouldn't know the difference.

Lemon = sour.

Chocolate = sweet.

This concludes our lesson food.

Wow, and I thought dipping a peanut butter jelly sandwich in ramen broth was weird :-#

This post, out of the entire bunch, struck me as oddest.

Ramen? Ramen and jelly?

Come on.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

Sweetbread is the most disgusting thing I can think of, eating those bits of animals is wrong just wrong. The idea of eating Thousand Year Old Eggs repulses me as well.

Pork blood stew. Yum yum.

That sounds quite nice, I just looked it up on Wikipedia it's called Dinuguan in Filipino right?

I don't mind blood being used in food, some Italian recipes use blood to thicken out pasta sauces and I like Black Pudding.

Yeah, that's what's it called

And I looked up those eggs too lol, I still don't get it. Are they rotten?

They're soaked in a brine for a while and then they're preserved for a few weeks so they're pretty much rotten but somehow still edible.

I haven't traveled enough to try many strange foods but I watch that bizarre foods show on the travel channel quite a bit and I'd definitely be willing to try most if not all of what he tries.

I have had live sea urchin, baby octopus, bull testees, peanut butter scrambled eggs...

May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!

Dragoonson, I've eaten inner organs and I've enjoyed them. I'M MORE ASIAN THAN YOU. -triumph- But seriously, go find yourself some pig intestines on a stick, they sell them everywhere in asia.

Image of Egg in question

No, they're not rotten.

...Chinese cuisine ingredient made by preserving duck, chicken or quail eggs in mixture of clay, ash, salt, lime, and rice straw for several weeks to several months, depending on the method of processing.

My mum's made them before, very nice.

I think I'll start typing a list of the stuff I've eaten/eat on a weekly basis which will seem weird to your pansies/non-asians

- Alligator

- Intestines

- Fish eyes

- 1000 year old egg

- Frogs

- Random bugs that look like maggots

- Birds Nest Soup (aka bird spit)

- Pig Blood Tofu/coagulated pig blood

- Snake soup

- Shark Fin Soup

*will edit when I think of more*

I have a feeling someone is going to throw an unneccesary joke at me about glass.
