Madmanpur3
I never had to take any written test for my license and the driving portion of the test was cake considering my dad started letting me drive when I was 13. May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!First annual Clausmas - 2009 December

thrash-boy
for all aussies the l's test is EXACTLY like the online practise one here: http://webapps.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vrlpq.nsf/practice?OpenForm and then you have 2 years of filling in a overly detailed log book. i mean, very highly detailed. heres what you have to fill in each time you drive: date (?.?.??) start (??:?? am/pm) finish (??:?? am/pm) driving time this trip (?h ?m) driving time running total (?h ?m) night driving time this trip (?h ?m) (dont subtract this from your total driving time) night driving time running total (?h ?m) car rego (ABC123) odo reading start (? km's) odo reading finish (? km's) traffic conditions (light/moderate/heavy) weather (wet/dry) light conditions (day/dusk/night) types of roads (residential roads/main roads/inner city roads/freeway/rural highway/other rural roads/gravel roads) supervisor drivers licence number (?????????) supervisor drivers signature trust me, it gets really old really fast filling in so much stuff. Lenin64
Nice. Right now I'm just happy to drive with my parents in the car. It's seriously awesome. What's the highway like the first :wall: time? It's pretty relaxed, getting on and off the highway, from personal experience, is the hardest part. My parents turned me onto the highway for a 4-hour trip home from my grandparents. Try not to doze off, it's too easy. One thing I've noticed is that when alongside an 18-wheeler, you tend to feel like you're being "sucked in". Try not to turn, and keep straight. I seriously lucked out on my test, I almost failed the vision part, but the lady who was administering the vision portion of the drivers permit test just let me pass, and told me to get my eyes checked. Probably the most piss-hard test ever for me tbh. lucky the DMV person I had was a biatch. the eye vision part was easy tho I don't remember a vision test. It was easy though, all I remember was panicking about being able to miss 0 of the sign identifications. But I passed. Command the Murderous Chalices! Zonorhc
With a little study and common sense the written test should be simple. If I remember correctly I got 19/20. I failed my first test because I said a pedestrian should give way to a vehicle. I'd think that was common sense that hey, it's a car, I won't walk in front of it. But yeh now I know that cars have to give way, which does make sense, can't run them over. A lot of the questions are worded to trick you too. In theory pedestrians have right of way at all times. In practice, it takes a special kind of person to walk out in front of a ton of steel moving at 60kph+. Iamdan
The test I did had 30 questions I think. I could get 3 wrong and missed 2. I winged it and had no problem but I know some people who studied and still failed it once or twice. Some people seem to find it easy and some find it hard, the test answers just seemed like common sense to me. Tim
Thankfully I Aced both. Learners I missed 1 because it was a trick question, Aced my Provisional 1 Test (Driving Test) and i go for my P2 Next month so i can legally go 100 km/h. Why I aced it? because I have a passion for driving... and keeping my licence unlike some idiots. : EDIT: And like Iamdan, i only had to do the 50 Hour Time, rather then the 120 Hr. \ Popoto.~<
ugafan_2009
Learners was easy, I missed like 2 on the road rules and 1 on the signs(I had already passed so I flew the last five and one was a trick question regarding a stop sign.) #-o Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651
Topazjewel
Be careful who you say that ("Oh the test was soooo easy!") to. I had that attitude after taking the written test (got 100% like you) and then found out my friend hadn't passed it -- after dropping the whole "What idiot fails that?" line. So be wary. But then I failed the practical half the first time. ;) Now I've been driving for 3 years and it all seems silly. :D
darkblade986
In Pennsylvania, our permit test is 18 questions, where you must get at least 15 right. I missed 1 question, so it stopped my test after the 15th correct simply because it's not necessary. I missed the question because I didn't know that a "barbiturate" referred to alcohol, so it was one of those questions I could've easily missed. Then I failed my license test my first time because evidently that yellow light I tried to beat turned red on me (which was automatic fail). Second time I managed just fine. Had been driving on and off since I was 13 (even though I wasn't technically allowed to at the time). Didn't even look at the book once, and didn't need to because I had paid so much attention while my parents were driving. Learned basically from experience rather than by reading. That was two years ago, and I've yet to get a traffic ticket (providing you don't count the $5 parking ticket at school because there weren't any parking spaces left). Several heart attacks as I drive past a cop, however. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
Lenin64
I got my liscense one week ago yesterday, actually. Because of the sheer distance, it woukd be fiscally irresponsible for me to drive to school and back every single day, so on that count I only drive to my bus stop (1.5 miles) and back. Except for air rifle practice, I drive to school those days. Command the Murderous Chalices! rangeor
Actually I first tried for my permit around a month ago. The signs test requires 100% correct, did that one pretty easy. Then the next part was 25 questions and required you to miss 5 or less, and I missed 6 :wall:. Going to try again this weekend.
PoorLepRecon
When I took the test to get my learners, I almost failed. I was allowed to miss 6 wuestions, and I missed all 6 of them. I was nervous at the end, I thought I would miss one of the last three questions. The guy next to me failed the test, but I was lucky to pass it. Nice. Right now I'm just happy to drive with my parents in the car. It's seriously awesome. What's the highway like the first time? I was nervous on the highway for the first time. Once you finally hit 60-70 miles an hour it is a different experience. Just make sure you look whenver you need to change lanes and when you are merging, and you will do fine. I lost my study book and cbf finding it. Yeah I'm 16 and about 4 months and still don't have my learners :wall: I got mine when I was 16 and 3 months, so it's not that bad. I still don't have my license, and I have been eligible to get it since January 4th. Nom
I hate the highway. Largest concentration of fools I've ever come across outside the internet. Driving stops being fun once you've had all the transmission fluid leak from your car, slide on a patch of ice and bust out the front headlight within a week of getting it back from the shop, and hit a deer at 35mph within a month of that. Estonian dude
Well, driver's license limit is 18 years here, I have 3 years to grow till I get it. But yes, 20 questions?!?!?!?!? We have 45 over here. And we have tests made on computer and there aint 2 similar tests. So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. Funny, today while I was driving home with my dad, we were close to a deer passing the street, and later we saw an entire deer family on a neighbor's yard. My second day driving and I'm already at risk for a deer collision. :?

You think 35 mph is bad? Try hitting it at 80. Goodbye fender. Tonight was my biggest time driving alone to date. I dropped my sister off at her gymnastics class, went to the grocery store, then picked her up again. It's pretty cool, I must say. It'll be depressing when it just becomes a chore. Iamdan
On the topic of young people driving, I have a mini rant that I want to get off my chest. Why does the general population of people under 25 have the idea that driving an automatic makes you unmanly and a bad driver, or that an automatic is a bad choice? See, a manual isn't any harder to drive than an auto you morons, it just means eating while driving is harder. My '02 toyota carolla auto may be a chicks car, but it sure has more balls than almost all the cars owned by younger people I know of. 90% of conversations I hear about people getting cars goes like this: Hey man I just got a 198* x. Is it a manual? Yeah man, why the hell would I get an automatic? I know how to drive a manual, people who get automatics are bad drivers because they can't push in a clutch and change gears because it's so difficult. I can do it, which makes me a good enough driver to try and drift around a corner and total my $350 car that I bought on a whim from the guy down the road because it has racing stripes on it. :wall:
