AceBeam Posted March 24, 2009 Share Posted March 24, 2009 Scariest Dreams thread :D Obvious instructions Starting now: I remember a while ago I had this insanely scary dream. A zombie apocalypse was happening, but it wasn't the zombies that scared me. It felt insanely real, as all dreams normally do until you wake up. What scared me was that everyone as dying, and the simplest actions became impossible. While I was sleeping and dreaming, I could actually feel my heart unsteadily pumping, and it hurt like hell when I woke up. It felt like a real apocalypse, and it made me realize that nearly 100% of the zombie threads plans would be pointless and undoable, as it is really unnerving thinking and knowing (in the dream, which didn't feel like a dream as when you're dreaming they don't normally feel like a dream) everyone around you is going to die horribly, and that everyone you ever knew is probably dead. No more fun, no more family, no more friends. Just impending doom. It was scary as hell. All I wanted to do was off myself, but at the same time, I wanted to live. I knew living would be pointless, because all it would be was hiding for the rest of my life every night and day from them, until I finally die. It felt like my mind was trying to kill me by itself, but basics protected me from it. Oh yeah, and I've thought of taking babies and throwing them. Anyway, is there a medical definition for that feeling where you dream that you're falling and it truly feels like you're falling through the air? I don't think I have many nightmares, just weird and strange, (but still negative) dreams... The Observer Posted March 24, 2009 Share Posted March 24, 2009 I had a dream once where I was shot. I remember everything turning to blackness and the inability to breathe. I then woke up afterward. Quite a short dream. I also have other scary dreams where I'm walking on a side of a cliff. Then I fall. Before I hit the ground, I wake up with a terribly fast heart beat. mustangs407 Posted March 24, 2009 Share Posted March 24, 2009 my scariest dream it wasnt that scary if you dreamed about it now but seeing as i was 4 (i think i saw e.t. and which im prbaoly stilll of aliens)and i can still remember it ill tell you well i was in a house i no longer lived in and all of sudden there was an alien sitting on my next door neighbors tree and i tell m parents they shoot my sister in the eyes and she has two pupils in each eye the end. I tried to stay up all night during the Holiday break, and the result was really trippy. By 5AM, I had the thought in my head that various types of rodents hiding around the room were conspiring against me, and the ringleader was a beaver that lived behind my TV... :uhh: :shock: :ohnoes: :? It was so real and it was so long that when I woke up I couldn't believe it. I thought I was still in a dream or something...I was sick to the stomach during that nightmare, everybody getting shot up or killed someway...I had a hard time doing the daily activities afterward because I was shocked. Kevin_ Posted March 25, 2009 Share Posted March 25, 2009 The only 2 'scary' dreams i can remember is a giant dinosaur chasing m in the woods and this one where i got shot in the stomach at the school toilets, was really weird and i woke up having my hand on the spot where i got shot in the dream :P. Could've been sleep paralysis, that's what most cases of alien "abductions" are said to be. Actually, sleep paralysis is usually more terrifying that most nightmares (from what I've read); you can experience horrifying hallucinations. I've never experienced it myself, but I think it'd be interesting if I did. More related to the topic, just a couple weeks ago I had the worst nightmare I've had in years, where I actually woke up literally panting. Something like this happens in my dreams occasionally, and it's pretty damn scary. I have a fear of any open water really, so those are probably my scariest dreams. I've had it in one or two of my dreams. One of them was that I was on a plane and it started crashing and I fell out the window and it actually felt real. I had this one dream that there was this terrorist in my house and he had a knife. I grabbed a knife and threw it at him and it went through his body. He started chasing me and then I woke up with my heart beating pretty fast. Edit: Didn't Abraham Lincoln have a dream the day before he died that in his dream he died. I get the really bad painful dreams often. I really hate those dreams where you fall, and then you wake up, and it feels like you just smacked down onto your bed. they feel cool though. but a bad cool. I can name 2 dreams that really freaked me out while I was dreaming: 1) I was licked by some human-size dog which had bulging eyes and had a massive tongue that felt like sandpaper. 2) Me and my mum were being chased by a gorilla with a bazooka.
