Okay little story here.

Yesterday evening I was biking to practice when all of the sudden I see something in the grass next to me. I turn around and start looking for it. I find it, it's a cellphone. Some kind of Samsung one, looks pretty nice too.

So I decided to start calling some numbers in the phone's list. There was some name that obviously represented her/(his?) boyfriend, so I called it. He said his friend lost his phone (not sure if it was a he or she so I'll just say he smile ) and that I found it. I couldn't meet up tonight because I had to go to practice. So I gave him my address and he's coming to pick it up tomorrow.

Now that I think of it, I could've just thrown the SIM out and sold the cell for 60 or so. Mean ? Yes. Do I know the person? No. Meh, I guess he/she/it can be happy the mean side of me didn't get the upperhand :P.

Man, I really am evil deep inside :o It would really suck if lost my cellphone, so I can imagine how it feels for that person.

Edit: I kinda realise now I really chose a wrong title.. I'm changing it.

I hope karma will repay me for this one day lol...

Anyways, what would you have done?

You're a good guy, I'd probably be a [bleep] and sell it for a bit of cash. Your not too friendly, just the right amount.

That's why you're on the TZDF blackdawn. Even your balls can tear zombies to shreds.

I don't think you're too friendly, I'd appreciate it if someone handed in my lost/stolen goods.

Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

This thing happened to my brother, he lost his phone after a drunken night out and well, they met outside ASDA and he gave the phone back, what a nice man.

Luck be a Lady

I probably would have done the same thing. I have a very overactive conscience at times, I have a feeling that would be one of them.

they're quite aware of what they're going through.

I probably would have kept it, even though I have no idea where to sell it :P

I don't consider myself to be an [wagon], so I certainly wouldn't have thrown out the sim and kept/sold the phone. I'd probably do what you ended up doing - give them my address to come pick it up. No disadvantage to me and they get their phone back.

You did the right thing.

Evil as most people are, sometimes people (like me) let their conscience take over. These people are called teh ossimsause.

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Similar thing happened to my dad. He found a cell phone in a manure pile outside one of his hog buildings. Dusted off the poo, looked at some of the numbers, and managed to get it back to the owner. He was surprised it still worked after all it had been through.

same thing happened to me, but I knew the girl who owned the phone. She's one of those really [bleep]y girls who has way too much money and takes everything for granted, thinks she's better than everyone else, and acts like the world revolves around her.

I kept her phone. stupid [bleep] got another god damn blackberry the next day.

The owner came to collect her phone, she rewarded me for returning it with... some chocolate eggs.

Sounds like a good deal to me. :D

You did the right thing, while many people wouldn't. +1

Yea, returning lost stuff. It's all that Hitler ever did, man.

I might have kept it. And destroyed it. But I don't really know. The only time I've ever found stuff was a small figurine (which I kept) and a calculator (small one, but I kept it. Still serves me today). Both would be hard to track down an owner.

Nah, I mean I was thinking of selling it to get some extra money, which I REALLY could use right now..

You did the right thing.

I want to say I'd return it, because I have lost some electronics in the past (back in high school I lost my gameboy SP.. never got returned of course.) and it always sucks.

You did the right thing. I lost my phone at a gig a while back, didn't think i'd see it again but the guy that found it stayed not too far from me so i went round and collected it. Huge relief.

kept it, and the sim card for a little while, called everyone on the list being an [wagon] about it and cracking lame jokes, then sold it. or if it was better than my phone, and with my company, i'd use it with my sim card.

You guys can't really say "You did the right thing" when there's not really a right or wrong involved. He did the good/nice/kind thing, yes, but not the "right" thing.

May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!

First annual Clausmas - 2009 December 25

I'd call the numbers, say I had the phone and ask for an address to send it to. Then send him my crappy phone and his SIM card and be psyched about my upgrade.

OH S***! He/she/it is back!
