Well we are certainly due a boss monster, the last one being Tormented demons but that's not really a boss and it was a while before that was for the last proper boss.

 

Guess we'll just have to see, really hope it's not a F2P boss as that'll be useless for members (I don't see Jagex making a F2P boss that drops things even on the level of dragon items).

I didn't even realize that gigantic castle was there just east of Clan Wars. I definitely hope it's either a good quest or a good boss monster.

 

Though I hold little hope for new boss monsters thanks to all the turmoil/overload'ers out there that could easily crash/camp for ages.

I do remember them saying in one of the question and answer sessions that F2p would be getting a boss, but I doubt that this is it.

Simple, just make the boss monster drain your prayer to zero at all times, and cause your potions to burst. :thumbup:

 

The F2P boss update, due this year, should at least accompany another member update though. Not because the update's bad, but it helps to prevent bad vibes on the forum on how members aren't getting anything, and killing the atmosphere for one whole week.

I just know that whatever it is, people are gonna rant about it.

I'm not so sure you should hold little hope for them.

 

Keep in mind bosses are so easy right now because they were designed with super potions being the best possible stats. Now that extremes/overloads are already in the game long before these current bosses were in development, I can only assume Jagex will keep keep that trend and base overloads being the best possible stats against new bosses.

 

In short, new P2P bosses are going to be harder. Much harder.

 

Either way, sounds like a very promising week. Its been almost 2 YEARS since we've had a boss monster added to the game (C-Beast). I really hope this is what it is.

I hope this will give my heaps of money spent on herblore a workout...

 

1500 4 dosed overloads, 2600 4 dosed brews, 400 4 dosed extreme sets + magic + ranged, 1800 special restores, 1900 super antifires, and 1500 super prayers...

I bet it is a free to play boss. And if it is demon related, they could have lesser and/or greater demons in there too since they are already F2P. Just a thought.

Due to recent trend: Must be a mining / smithing / crafting D&D (and I am really really really really really really (have I mentioned really..) tired of those)

 

But my hopes go out to a skill based boss (aka something like nomad) where pure stats don't matter as much as moving / chosing attack style and timing matter. Perhaps something.. BRILLIANT!!! And no ofcourse not f2p, that would be silly wouldn't it be ;)
