assassin_696
Out of interest, does anyone know of a cover of one of The Beatles' songs which is better than the original? A couple of weeks ago I read something from a music journalist who didn't think so because of George Harrison's guitar work (which I disagree with but hey) but it got me thinking, and so far I haven't been able to think of one. A couple of weeks ago I read something from a music journalist who didn't think so because of George Harrison's guitar work (which I disagree with but hey) but it got me thinking, and so far I haven't been able to think of one.   I feel like a broken record, but Zakk Wylde did a cover of Beatles's Come Together which I think I prefer over the original - although that might have something to do with the fact that I heard his version about 100x times before I heard the original.   [hide=Come Together][yt]WT8ez972VuY[/yt][/hide]   He's done literally a ton of covers (probably something like 30-40). Here's one of Stairway to Heaven which I honestly also prefer over the original, the solo is orgasmic.   [hide=Stairway to Heaven][yt]ZO2djUastZg[/yt][/hide]     Also two covers Joe Bonamassa has made, first one is Tom Waits's Jockey Full of Bourbon and the second is of the classic Feelin' Good. The guy is a blues genius.   [hide=Jockey Full of Bourbon][yt]Od8Sx9MKlvM[/yt][/hide]   [hide=Feelin' Good]fIE6fVNeBXc[/hide]

aquariusman
[yt]jqo8sxQ5puA[/yt]Â Â Â We Will Come Silhouettes by The Shins. Original song by The Postal Service. Great song, but the style of the Postal Service just doesn't do it justice. The Shins make it wonderful though. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. Plugpoint
Sea of Treachery's cover of Paramore - Misery Business. I love both versions. [yt]v=Fn-VYmNDszc[/yt]   Also, Ben Gibbard - Against All Odds (Phil Collins) Iron & Wine - Such Great Heights (Postal Service) The Academy Is... - Working Class Hero (I normally hate bands covering classic songs but this is pretty good. Opened my eyes to how amazing John Lennon's solo stuff is.) Maxed 15/06/

Erk02
I feel that this is far better than NIN's original version.   Which may have been why I mentioned it on the first page, and two other people already quoted agreeing with me.       Go eat a rock. At least I posted a video.   [yt]1VlRUIHwygc[/yt]    [yt]OQKOR9t9ynM[/yt]   Before you say anything, yes, the second song is a cover. It's a cover of Robert Johnson, a legendary blues player. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Just keep it under 5 sentences, and PM me to use my fluency in Japanese to your advantage! EarthySun
Smoke on the Water covered by AC/DC is just great. Far better than Deep Purple's version because they aren't stoned out of their minds. So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.
