a_bert
[hide=Sarcasm explode]Also, considering cuba is still in an economic slump from the cold war and after, they don't have the resources to first, build drilling apparatus able to drill two miles through ice, then through the land below it, where there probably isn't oil at all, then build a pipeline to the coast, and build a massive port. That would 15 billion dollars or so. Plus maintenance. Don't compare it to the real world and there is a fair basis start and I have support too so I should be able to get the oil. No there's not. You're supposed to improve your country from where it is in the real world. You don't magically have billions of dollars. Why not work on increasing the cigar industry? EDIT: @Run4Runes - One word. Hyperinflation. Better idea: I should work on a machine that makes sarcasm detectable on the internet! :D[/hide] Add trolling to it. --- Japan has a large fleet off destroyers, and a small detachment of these (Say 4) shall be despatched to add to the Brazilian fleet, unless Brazil declines this offer. The ships would ultimately be loyal to myself, but a Brazilian commander would be acceptable to the ships. My military budget is currently largely in naval based activities, specifically aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines - however enough is put into a training programme for the new infantry. Japan's nuclear arsenal would quickly outpace China's. France's nuclear submarine costs just $13 billion and would be well within Japan's means. And Japan nuclear armament would encourage other Asian nations to also arm, even Taiwan. --- Japan will attend the meeting. --- Also, if everyone could state the alliances their country holds. Perhaps we could form some kind of political map. Kind of like the one here. 'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

Hedgehog
The New World Council meeting has been postponed to 5PM EST since my scientists needed me to complete their latest project (twice as good as the AIDS vaccine!). I ask every new world leader to attend, we are going to be dealing with very important matters to secure our new order's future. So, in 3 hours and 10 minutes from this post I ask everyone to meet your new world leader in New York City, the new capital of the world. Evil_mummm, the new ruler of the USA, assures us there will be no terrorist attacks that could cause us harm. The meeting will go on until 24 hours after it started, and there will be no war during this time. See you then. Do I have control over Finland? I would be glad to attend such a meeting, so long as I'm on the computer at the time.

anonymous1234
I have a steady supply of oil, NG, and lumber to sell to you Riku. The lumber however will only be supplied for a few more years before we have de-forested the amount we want.

Lenticular_J
Holy crap, could someone round up what's happened since we decided to break up the SAR? I think someone should take the initiative to round everything up every so often. Is the SAR officially broken up yet? If so, then Greater Argentina's experiments with agriculture have finally paid off! We've mutated a new crop, with extreme health benefits - hell, you could live off of this and a few glasses of water! We can distribute it to anyone who pays. Btw, I'll be putting current allies of my country in my sig to keep track of everything. France's nuclear submarine costs just $13 billion and would be well within Japan's means. And Japan nuclear armament would encourage other Asian nations to also arm, even Taiwan. Wait what? Didn't we say no nukes...? And of course I'm not willing to ally with Japan (due to the fact that I would then be allied with China), but due to the proximity of our nations, as well as the fact that you were once our masters, I would be willing to listen if you should like to trade. Also, if everyone could state the alliances their country holds. Perhaps we could form some kind of political map. Kind of like the one here. That's kind of what I meant with the CivIV diplomatic chart. An example can be found here. It's basically the same thing. Updates from Taiwan: -A new species of deadly poisonous snakes has been found in the mountains near Hualien. Doctors are expirementing with the venom as of now. -Coal mines have been discovered. (I'm not pulling this out of nowhere, there actually are a few coal mines in Taiwan...) -Time to look upwards. The military is working on the air force, which seems to be our weakest branch. And scientists have begun researching towards space exploration - given a big jump of a start from our Indian allies. (I...hope...) -I've boarded a flight headed for New York (not really), arrival in about 24 hours. Looks like I'll make the end of this meeting. Lenticular_J
Sorry, but Greater Argentina has decided to adopt a policy of isolationism. We will still trade with you, but the only alliances we are keeping are defensive pacts with the rest of the former SAR. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
frakir_staer
Venezuela is starting to increase our manufacturing capacity to wean off our dependence on oil exports. We offer heavy incentives for foreign companies looking to export their manufacturing. Lent, Venezuela would appreciate a few shipments of Greater Argentina's new food product. In return, we can offer prefered partner status (lower taxes on Argentine companies operating in Venezuela, lower tariffs, etc.) Early to bed and early to rise makes a man sleepy and blind in the eyes.Carai an Caldazar! Caromon
Ok somehow hedgehog has managed to steal Finland from me for some unknown reason so I relocated to Sweden which my peacekeeping principles are kept the same. I still would like to propose that smaller countries help by larger orders be used as safehouses so innocent people don't get injured by the war. Lenticular_J
Okay, Venezuela will be the first. We're actually in the process of removing our companies on foreign ground, but the tariffs will be a good deal. Although to be honest, if we could just get a trade of food for oil, we'd be happy. We're still trying to find ways to efficiently power ships and military vehicles without oil. It's hard. Finland, should the EC promote such aggressive imperialism, Greater Argentina will be the first to send our aid. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

indy500fan
Sorry hedgehog but Caromon already has Finland. Sweden is still open. There was a lot to catch up on in the past 8 pages, only a few things that Norway needs to deal with though. First up, I would like to form an alliance with Finland (Caromon) if he agrees, and I will be part of his peace initiative. If hedgehog would like to take another Scandinavian country (Sweden or Denmark) then I will extend an offer of alliance to him also. Terms of these alliances are just like in Civilization IV, if any of our countries are attacked we all go to war. However, if any of our countries decide to attack someone else then the alliance is broken automatically. Also, I welcome Venezuela to Nopec (not an acronym, so no need to capitalize it all). Now that Nopec consists of 3 major oil nations (Norway, Russia and Venezuela) we control 20% of the worlds oil production. I would now like to extend an invitation to all oil producing countries to join Nopec, regardless of size. I am specifically calling the US and Canada to join, since they are both large producers. The US being the third biggest producer but by far being the biggest consumer will have a lot to lose by joining, however if in this New World Order meeting coming up we pass environmental legislation you will have to cut down on oil consumption anyways.
