July 12, 200719 yr 76,995 movies all of which are in the public domain, courtesy of Archive.org. Rashomon was on there, but I think that was the only Akira Kurosawa film.Is it full-screenable? Cuz that would be awesome (I'm still going to watch it either way, Blockbuster doesn't carry Rashomon).
July 12, 200719 yr Author Garbo Very interesting introduction to the most beautifully photografed woman in the history in cinema. Those eyes! But what a tragic career. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
July 16, 200719 yr Is it full-screenable? Cuz that would be awesome (I'm still going to watch it either way, Blockbuster doesn't carry Rashomon). Here is the direct link, which you probably already have been too. If you want to stream it, I don't think it can go fullscreen. Might be able to someway. I would just use one of the "Play/Download" links and save it to your computer, then play it in WMP or VLC, which of course can do fullscreen. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. "Arrested Development" complete series - The best sitcom ever, easily. Second time through, so not as many rolling on the floor laughing moments, but it was still very enjoyable.
July 16, 200718 yr The Departed. I don't watch movies in theaters much :? Noted raw mackerel drop... Wtfh? Always buying: Watermelon seeds, 2K each. Strawberry seeds, 800 each. Contact Via PM on forums.
July 17, 200718 yr Author Men in Black Bought this a few weeks ago in case I ever got sick. Two days ago I wasn't feeling too good, so I put it on. It's a lot of fun. No more and no less. The Palm Beach Story It had been a while since that I had seen this movie, so I decided that I should rewatch it inmediatly now that I received his DVD box. And it's really good. Claudette is fantastic and I'm a fan of Joel McCrea. Rudy Vallee is also genius in his supporting role as naive multi-millionare. Great jokes as well, but that's Sturges of course. "Neetz" "Yitz", gotta love Toto. Preston Sturges: The Rise and Fall of an American Dreamer 76 minute documentary which is found on the Criterion disc of Sullivan's Travels. Very informative on Preston Sturges from birth 'till death. Psycho (remake) Well, that's something else for a remake. Pretty interesting project, not all that bad as everybody claims it to be. Yama no oto I love this kind of stuff. It's so calm and relaxing. The Japanese were/are so good with this type of family drama. Setsuko Hara is such a fantastic actress as well. You can wake me in the middle of the night for this. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
July 19, 200718 yr Dejavu - I loved it. It made me think which I didn't mind. Our family is still trying to explain it to Mum :P ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
July 19, 200718 yr Hard Boiled (Lat sau san taam) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104684/ Even better than I remember it being. If your looking for deep & meaningfull characterisation then it's most likely not the film for you but as far as action films go, I'd struggle to think of many that are this good. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
July 20, 200718 yr "Reno 911!" entire series - Not a big fan. I did laugh a few times, but that was spread out over 4 seasons of episodes. Reno 911!: Miami - I guess this wasn't in the same continuity as the TV series. A few funny parts, but not even as many as other generic comedies. Overall very disappointing (even expecting as little as I was), but I guess if you like the TV series it might be OK.
July 20, 200718 yr Citizen Kane http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033467/ I was under-whelmed by Citizen Kane. I understand that at the time it was a technical achievement in terms of it's effects (use of deep focus etc.) and I might be judging it a litlle harshly since now as a modern movie-goer I'm so used to seeing the stuff that the film pioneered (to the point where you can't even notice the effects). To be honest though, I can't put my finger on one specific thing that put me off the film which is unusual so maybe there's something I've missed or something I haven't really appreciated that'll make a second viewing better. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
July 20, 200718 yr I felt the same way about Citizen Kane. I always meant to watch it a second time through, maybe I will do that tonight. It just didn't seem as great as it was supposed to be.
July 21, 200718 yr Author When you're seeing kane for the first time you'll miss a lot. It wasn't just the deep focus that was revolutionary. The so called 'archive material' (which was presented in a unique way) at the start of the movie, the genre combinations which Welles uses. But perhaps most importantly it's the way the story is told trough all the different flashbacks. The picture of this Godlike man gets bigger and bigger. And what's also very clever is that every flashback is different on how he gets displayed. One person thinks he's the best and another person thinks he's the biggest [wagon] ever walked this earth. And then there's of course the visual aspects. The endless compositionary posibilities you've got with deep focus, the expressionist style of the movie and all the other visual trics. Toland is a genius and almost 70 years after it's release this movie is one of the best looking movies ever made. [edit]And of course it can't live up to it's expectations. It's not exactly easy to be labeled the best movie ever made. :P Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
July 22, 200718 yr Yeah, it being labeled the number 1 movie of all time I think is the main reason it didn't feel like it lived up to expectations. I will have to watch it again, but it seems it isn't on my computer anymore so I will have to buy it. "Drive" complete series - They finally put the last two episodes up a week or so ago, so all six that are going to be coming out are out. Was it a good show? Not really, it actually kind of sucked. The plot was stupid at best, the dialogue was atrocious at best, and the acting did leave something to be wanted. However, for some reason I liked it. I know it wasn't very good, but I was still pissed of FOX canceled it. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - This movie was different. OK I guess, kind of boring at times, most of the time it was just plain weird. Most of the time weird is good, but this time it was just kind of meh.
July 23, 200718 yr Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - This movie was different. OK I guess, kind of boring at times, most of the time it was just plain weird. Most of the time weird is good, but this time it was just kind of meh. Oh, I really enjoyed that one... didn't expect much, so I was surprised at such an original movie. It was an odd movie, but I thought that was one of its charms. The ending was a bit... strange. I went to see Transformers last night and all I can say is.... WOAH!!! It was freakin' awesome. Ok, the plot was about as deep as a puddle, but that's not what I went to see it for. The CGI was just about the best I've ever seen, and the attention to detail was incredible. The pace was just right and it was really funny at times. I'm glad it didn't take itself seriously, it just wouldnt' have worked, so they did a nice job with the humour. I'd been waiting for this movie since I was a kid (20 years ago lol), and I can barely describe my delight at this finally being released. Highly recommend it... 9.5/10
July 23, 200718 yr The Third Man http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0041959/ It was an enjoyable film, I liked it. The only criticism I have is that I wasn't surprised by the plot twists because the film has been referenced so heavily by pop-culture (although that isn't the films fault). He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
July 27, 200718 yr Zodiac - Kept me interested the whole time. Was made pretty well, and all the actors did well. I know it was supposed to be dark and everything, but the one problem I had was it being too dark to see what was happening sometimes. Full Metal Jacket - Awesome, as always. My favourite war movie.
July 28, 200718 yr SicKo: Must watch, very terrifying look at how screwed up Americas health care system is HP & The Order of the Phoenix: Well it was dark like the book with some good acting, but not the most interesting Transformers (2007): WOW! AMAZING MOVIE Sig
July 28, 200718 yr Transformers- Loved it! I cannot say enough about it. Live Free or Die Hard- Funny with some good action... An all around great movie.
July 28, 200718 yr Battle royale..awesome movie =D 42 delinquent students. 3 days. One deserted Island. Welcome to Battle Royale. A group of delinquent students from a Japanese high school have been forced by a legislation to compete in a new forum of reality television. The students are given a bag with a randomly selected weapon and a few rations of food and water and sent off to kill each other in a no bars hold (with a few minor rules) game to the death. This means that the students have 3 days to kill each other until 1 survives or they all die. The movie focus on a few of the students and how they cope. Some decide to play the game like the psychotic Kiriyama or the Sexual Mistuko whilst others like the heroes of the movie Shuya, Noriko and Kawada are trying to find a way to get off the Island without violence. However as the numbers dwell down lower and lower on an hourly basis is there anyway for Shuuya and classmates to survive? Tif 360 MGC Leaderboard
July 28, 200718 yr Just came back from Transformers. Awesome :D Enjoyed it all And soon going to watch 'The Simpsons'. "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
August 6, 200718 yr Saw Bourne Ultimatum last night, it was AMAZING. : That's not out here for another couple of weeks... I can't wait to see it. I loved the first two. I hear the shaky-hand-camera-man is really annoying though. Last movie I watched was Flags of our Fathers and Hills Have Eyes 2 Flags of our Fathers was pretty excellent. I'm really beginning to enjoy Clint Eastwoods direction. For action, this one was up there with Saving Private Ryan and for story, it was well ahead of it. A nice character peice as well as a good action flick. Although I hear the Japanese one Letters From Iwo Jima was even better, so gonna watch that one next. 9/10 Hills Have Eyes 2 was actually a lot better than I expected. Just as brutal as the first one, and I quite enjoyed it. 6/10
August 6, 200718 yr I still haven't seen the second Bourne film yet, I must do that soon. Saw Transformers last night though, amazing. I love the 80's and I'm so happy that Bay brought it back for me ^_^ Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. August 6, 200718 yr Saw Transformers last night though, amazing. I love the 80's and I'm so happy that Bay brought it back for me ^_^ Yer, that was just about the best cinema release of the year so far... :) I've seen it twice now lol.
