July 3, 200719 yr Was at my parents and I only had a small selection of DVDs so i had to watch Jeepers Creepers 2 yesterday lol. I followed it up by the much better film Starship Troopers tho :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. July 3, 200719 yr Hostel 2. About the same as the first... nothing special, and not as gory as they claimed it to be. The plot was pretty much the same as the first, so that saves a lot of explaining. The best thing about this movie was Lauren German... she's really cute :) Tarantino is beginning to disappoint me now... that's a few poor movies he made lately. 5/10 for this one.Well, Eli Roth made Hostel 1 and 2 so... Yeah, but I'm sure Tarantino was the main man on set.... he probably let Roth to push some of the buttons n' stuff lol Would be pretty hard to say no to Big Quinton ;)
July 5, 200719 yr The last movie I saw in theaters was Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It was better than the first although that's not saying much. Basically the Silver Surfer starts freaking out people on Earth and telling them the planet is going to be destroyed. They find out the board is the source of his power. They steal it from him. Victor von Doom tries to use the board for his evil doings. Invisible Woman or girl (i Dont know) charms silver surfer, norrin radd (i think), into destroying galactus(the planet eater) into by killing himself inside galactus (i'm not sure what he actually does it just looks that way to me) and they all live happilly ever after. I recently watched the Godfather at home on Bravo and it was much better as you'd expect. Basically, it tells how Michael Corleone, who tries to stay out of the family business, is drawn right into it and ends up becoming a huge mafia boss.
July 5, 200719 yr "Veronica Mars" seasons 2, 3 - So I am finished with the series now. The first two seasons each had a main storyline that started at the first episode of the season, and ended at the end. The third season didn't, it had a long plot line (about 7 episodes) and a good amount of short ones, some going on at the same time. Surprisingly, that worked just as well as the first two seasons (except not as good of a finale). Overall I really enjoyed it. EDIT: Done with VM now so I have been able to watch a bit more... Secret Window - Guessed the ending by 10/15 minutes into it, was positive by about 30. It was alright I guess, Depp did awesome as he normally does. "Halfway Home" season 1 - Watched the first three episodes when they came out, just got around to watching the last seven. Funny at times, but can be lame at times also. Started off OK but I was pretty bored by the end. 300 - Since it came out on DVD I figured now would be a good time to see it again. Liked it, of course. Zack Snyder did this pretty well, hopefully he does just as well with Watchmen.
July 9, 200719 yr 300 - Since it came out on DVD I figured now would be a good time to see it again. Liked it, of course. Zack Snyder did this pretty well, hopefully he does just as well with Watchmen. Yeah, saw that recently, and wow. Snyder certainly knows what he's doing. The 'bluescreen' effect worked surprisingly well :o The Descent - Had to mention this one. Maybe it was the movie, or maybe it was the 50" plasma and surround sound, which my friend (whom I envy greatly) owns, but this movie scared the 'eff' outta me. SPOILERS [hide]I enjoyed this 'edge-of-your-seater' very much, although something which annoyed me throughout was the movie's predator - the crawler. I mean, sure they were ugly, but they weren't physically strong or really terribly dangerous if you consider what the women were doing to them. They were mentioned at some point as having become 'perfectally adapt' to hunting and living underground with bat-like senses, yet they couldn't find their prey when they were 2 inches staring it in the face, or holding the palms of their hands on it. Another thing, when Juno stabbed Beth in the throat, she manages to survive for a long period of time and actually talk to Sarah when she finds her later in the film. I am not a doctor, but I think there's some serious vocal chords and arteries there.[/hide] However, again I'll say this movie did scare me a few times, or was it the incredibly loud speakers? Who knows, I'll give this film 8/10.

July 9, 200719 yr I saw Die Hard 4.0 at the cinema a few nights ago. It was entertaining as you'd expect, lots of shooting, big action sequences and the odd bit of humour. I enjoyed it though, it was well done and wasn't a total disappointment like Rocky (eventhough it went a bit OTT, even for DH, with the plane). That being said, I don't think its as good as the other 3, but I liked it regardless. Just seen this today :) Thought it was pretty good actually, although they're really reaching by calling this a Die Hard movie. I mean, it's John Mclean and that's it really... Anyway, thought it was better than 2&3, but not as good as the first one. A great movie if you try to ignore the impossible plot as the action is pretty fantastic at times. 8/10 from me :) What makes you think that? Just what I've read about him really. I imagine he'd be an enormous influence on set... he's a legend after all. I doubt they hired him just for his good looks lol... so he must've had a LOT of say on set.
July 9, 200719 yr Author For what I know he only was excecutive producer. And did some small adjustments on the script. And then they just hung his name on it for promotional purposes; the brand Tarantino sells better than Eli Roth. He may have inputed a little bit, but I don't think he did much. South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut - Epic, as always. Great, great movie.

July 11, 200719 yr Author Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix What a let down. I'd even go as far to say "worst of the series". After part three I had some hope, but the fourth one was a step back already. And this one is another step back. It's one big RUSHED mess. I expect the score to lower pretty soon on IMDB. After the fanboys luckily there come people with a pair of brains, most of the time. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
July 11, 200719 yr I watched Rashomon this morning for the first time. I think its in the public domain now as I was able to watch it all via Google video ( its possible since it was released in 1950 but I'm not sure enough to g post a link here). Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised as I really enjoyed it. Beforehand I was thinking that I could be disapointed since everyone hypes up Kurosawa & his films so I thought there was no way that they could live up to the hype. I liked how he was able to use all the different witnesses to give their own versions of events and keep you guessing until the end (I'll not say any more about the plot so I don't spoil it for others). I'm just wondering, if a film is in the public domain, would it be okay to post them? Obviously this would only apply to older films (I doubt it for a number of reasons but I'm curious). July 11, 200719 yr 76,995 movies all of which are in the public domain, courtesy of Archive.org. Rashomon was on there, but I think that was the only Akira Kurosawa film.

I would've liked to have seen this in the cinema in all it's glory but I really can't see the local Odeon showing it anytime soon :( . I watched it fullscreen on my tv though ( via my ps3 browser) so it still looked good plus it a good quality video. Technically speaking I do have it on dvd now though ;) . July 11, 200719 yr For what I know he only was excecutive producer. And did some small adjustments on the script. And then they just hung his name on it for promotional purposes; the brand Tarantino sells better than Eli Roth. Indeed Tarantino has just become a brand name really, and his name is splattered over anything he produces as if he has major influence in it. Like directing and stuff which isn't the case. Anyway Tarantino's alright, I'm not his biggest fan but his last few movies have been a let down (Kill Bill, Grindhouse). I hope his war movie starts up again soon. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
July 12, 200719 yr Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix - Still don't quite know what to think. They tried to put so much in the film, but never gave the viewer the time to let anything sink in. I pity the people who haven't read the book, because they will be in for one rollercoaster of a film. Heck, I was completely confused and I've read all of them more than once. The more they move on in the series, the more I wonder how they're going to solve the plot mess they've been making. On the plus side, there were some nice details for the fans, such as the goat in the Hog's Head. Very funny for those who remember the incident between Dumbledore's brother (the barkeep of the Hog's Head) and some goat ('inappropriate charms').
July 12, 200719 yr I watched Die Hard last night, after i saw Die Hard 4.0 a few days ago. Die Hard 4.0 was alright... i mean if it wasn't for Bruce Willis is would have sucked. The villain Thomas Gabriel was awful, what the hell happened to Alan Rickman and Jeremy Iron type villians that are witty and sophisticated? This dude was just annoying. Another thing was his new buddy for the movie who was pretty awful, and his friend "warlock" who took on every stereotype under the sun. I know Die Hard even the first one stereotyped it's villians or henchmen to a degree but this was just painful. It wasn't really a Die Hard film since it lacked it's dark humour, irony, incredible villain and some ninja woman who kicks the hell out of him after everything he's been through. Yeah right. I understand Die Hard usually has an element of technology to it but this was just 100% computers and stopping them, it got annoying and old. What the hell happened to him being a normal cop too? Yeah some things in previosu movies were un-relaistic but taking down a military jet with a [bleep]ing truck. Give me a break.
