Need a good quote from King Lear to start a speech discussing the relevance of Shakespeare today. Any ideas?

"Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! rage! blow!

You cataracts and hurricanoes, spout

Till you have drenched our steeples, drowned the [roosters]!

You sulphurous and thought-executing fires,

Vaunt-couriers to oak-cleaving thunderbolts,

Singe my white head! And thou, all-shaking thunder,

Strike flat the thick rotundity o' the world!

Crack nature's moulds, all germens spill at once

That make ingrateful man!"

- William Shakespeare, King Lear, 3.2.1

Guys, how do I stay up at night for extended periods of time ? I've tried caffeine and it doesn't work for me, I have around 5 cups of strong brewed tea a day so I think I've built up a high tolerance level to caffeine. I've tried various energy drink without any real results except being super effective diuretics. So far, going for a run or doing some exercise has proven to be most effective, any suggestions ?

JxJ: im sleepy and I need something to pick me up, what should I drink?

GCa: Well, a can of coke has about 45 mg of caffeine. A shot, about 90. 8oz drip coffee 180-220. Ice coffee ~250+.

GCa: These are estimates, btw

GCa: My ultimate pick-me-up drink was an iced venti coffee with no ice, add two-three shots, a couple pumps of syrup and top it with cream

GCa: Then I would slam it... INSANE amounts of caffeine

GCa: Approx 16oz (you can get 32oz now) of iced coffee (500mg)+3 shots (270mg)= 770 mg of caffeine, or the equivalent of 17 cans of coke at once

GCa: I used to pull up allnighters on that stuff just to ace finals. never failed anything.

Dorne: [cabbage], at that point caffeine is basically coke

GCa: Don't try to drive while on that.

JxJ: what the hell was your major?

GCa: english

I am having an issue.

I want to move to Columbus, OH, and live with my Uncle while attending a college nearby (mainly to get out of the rural area and get to an area which has jobs in the field I am looking into). The only problem is that my Uncle is homosexual. My dad will not pay for any of my college if I move to my uncle's house. I am straight, but don't really have a problem living with a homosexual person. He owns a three-storied house and lives alone and he said I could get the finished basement to myself (has kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, a living room, etc).

So what should I do? If I stay here, I will miss out on several job opportunities, go to s cruddy university/college, gain high blood-pressure from dealing with my dad , and have a heart attack and die at age 30  . If I move in with my uncle, I will piss off my dad, but I will have a chance at getting a good education and having a good life. I pay $100.00 rent living with my parents and I would if I was living with my uncle as well.

My dad has some crazy mindset that I will change my sexual orientation if I was to live with someone of a different sexual orientation than myself.

Thank you in advanced for reading this.

Move in with your uncle. Like you said, you'll miss out on lots of stuff otherwise.

I would have to work a second job to pay for college. I have tried and tried to convince my dad to cover some of the fees and tuition regardless, but he is homophobic apparently. I kind of want to get away from my dad anyway. I have had problems with him since middle school (Grade 6).

I don't know your father, but that might work- my best bet would be to make him understand you'd move whether he pays and whether he doesn't. The idea is to make him understand he's being pointlessly stubborn and will only make you work harder for no good reason. Sorry for the short advice but I'm just about to leave. Good luck. ;)

Laugh at them. I met some friends at the mall the other day, they were baked like a muffin. It's the best. It's easier if you carry munchies, or else they might not like you for making fun of them.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

Your dad's a nut. Move in with your uncle. Sounds like it's a nice ste up. Worry about paying for college later.

I don't know about drunk people, but it's not hard to get along with a stoner. You'll probably make them laugh without even trying. Just don't try to scare them or anything, they'll be really gullible. Food is good too.

Does anyone know of any music similar to this?

I don't mean jazz, I mean music with a slow tempo (..?) that I can fall asleep to.

(I've been listening to this track + rainymood on repeat to get to sleep lately, works wonders)

Definitely the Uncle. If it means better job opportunity and education I would do that in a heartbeat, regardless if my relative/friend/whatever was gay or not. Over time your dad will hopefully understand YOUR needs and well, if he doesn't there's always the vast job opportunities there to help. Wish I had a relative/friend to stay with, make life so much easier.

Here's what you do:

GO to your nearest Home Depot. By 6 flower pots, 4 nail guns and 3 black lights.

Now go to your nearest starbucks, there's always gay people there. Get some rainbows.

Then go to Wal-mart and buy 2 richard simmon's exercise tapes and a box of twinkies.

And if you're implementing in reality what I am in my mind, you will soon have infinite babes, money, lulz, and a gay dad with a flower pot in his ass that is a hit for raves, and has been known to hide gold from leprechauns in it.

Or just realize this: it's his money, it's his rules. Lifes a [bleep]. I would know. Just accept it, which do you want more, your morals/freedom, or free money? There's no wrong answer, but only you have the answer. Despite my previous quasi paragraph, and the corny line i just said, I'm being serious when I say not only is that the only option you have, it's really the best.

Nope, can't afford it.

After thinking it over for a few days, I have decided to look for a full-time job and move to Columbus. I would rather provide for my future family/self instead of wishing I could by choosing to stay with my parents.

My mom fully supports me, but my dad still needs to take some midol and chill. He was yelling at me about how I will never succeed if I move away. That really pissed me off. He was just a factory worker his whole life (not dissing on anyone who may work at a factory or knows someone who does) at GM. I want to do something more with my life. I want to own a nice house, a complex server room, several nice computers, a nice car, etc.

Since my uncle works and knows several people, he might be able to get me a job as an IT or something computer related :) Also, I hear there are great LAN parties nearby :D.

I would like to thank those who provided advice for my situation.

How are you doing, Dark Aura?

Crap. Filling out forms for "Unreasonable to live at home" stuff to try to get Centerlink to allocate me a small unit or something. I can get by without major necessities for a while like internet but I just need ot get away from this home.

A good place to look is internships at the IT departments of actual cities. My brother worked at one, sixteen dollars an hour and amazing experience - he's going into a Computer Science degree now at Texas Tech. The only downside was that it's around 20 hours a week, so that's just barely enough to live on. But you're paying low rent, and your uncle sounds like a cool guy.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Yeah he is an IT for an insurance company or something like that. He has 24MB internet .

'

I am also getting a Computer Science degree, but if I could find an internship for 16 an hour only 20 hours a week, I could see if I could get a second job for another 20 hours. I will look into this.
