The things that these people are not only willing to do but have already done in the name of their religion are nothing less than horrifying. This group goes above and beyond anything else that this world has ever seen short of Nazis. Treating the group as anything but violent lunatics is not only foolish, but can be costly. We need to be ready for these people to start pouring out in the streets in an attempt to convert or massacre every person they can find, any way they can. Forget this petty squabble about whether or not there's a God or an afterlife or any of that. It's a pointless debate about something that can't be proven OR disproven with any physical method. If you want to find something to spend your effort on, spend it on learning about Scientology and get ready for anything. I am NOT kidding.

I dunno, someone on here lives in Dunedin about 5-7 miles from me. On another note, I have to say the buildings they move into/build look much better than most churches.

(I was too scared to go in in case they recognised me from protesting a bit back) and she came out all smiling. She said they were really nice and treated her like an adult. It freaked us both out how... happy she was coming out of the place after spending only 2 minutes there. And she knows all about Scientology too, it was scary =/

Oh definitely. Being where I am, I deal with them all the time. They are often very plite, cordial, intelligent people. But once you're a part of it, that's when the scary stuff kicks in.

but frankly I was talking with one of my friends who is a christian while I am pointing out flaws and other things that annoy me about all religions. And after I had pointed thing out about most major religions someone else brought up this one. And I knew almost nothing about it besides the south park episode I saw. Which is semi-accurate. And frankly I could not see anyone actually believing in this.

 

 

 

Another thing that I really hated is how secretive they are about it. but I'd prefer that to the preaching parts of other religions.

Scientology is a cult/joke and they believe that they are possessed by alien warriors...and there is no point of salvation or anything similiar which is the basis of religion.

 

And the difference between a religion and a cult is if you leave a religion, they will still talk to you and won't exclude you, where as a cult would. and also cults tend to have one person say they are the messiah and involve mass suicides or brainless rituals.

 

I myself am a christian, but not of the religion, I just have a relationship with Jesus. and tithing is a donation that is usually 10% of your wages, but it can be any amount, and should never be mandatory.
