Salamander won't work for all of the final battle as you need to be able to cast Air, Earth Fire and Water spells. Ranged and melee yeh, but the axe you get in the quest > anything for dags tbh.

Cool, I have all reqs for once.

So just how hard is this quest? The combat parts anyway. Having just come back from retirement I'm pretty poor (around 6m). Would anyone recommend me a setup/supplies for this quest? Thanks in advance. (p.s., I don't want a guide, just some advice on what to bring.)

you'll probably want to bring both some melee armour, as well as some dragonhide or similar. Take a melee weapon (for the start), and both a ranged weapon, as well as combat runes. (i didn't take robes for this, as i needed defence, but a magic staff of some kind may come in handy.) Other than that, take perhaps a couple prayer potions, and quite a lot of food.

Would a salamander work?

wouldn't count on it. It would pretty much only be a use for the final battle, as a range weapon. And then you would be better off with a rune crossbow or something like that anyway.

*shuns den for not reading quest dialogue*

Basically the ancient tomes revealed about the rising of the dagannoth daughter to mother and Siglim (my fremmy name) will be the saviour.

Because she's trapped it weakens the other Dagannoth from what I gathered from the dialogue from Brundt and Baba

Sorry, im usualy on top of all this information aswell. :( I never got to read over the tomes a second time so I couldnt remember much of it.

On top of that, its been so long since I did Horror from the deep I cant even remember doing it. Couldnt even remember who that guy in the dreams was before Baba told me. :?

Wish Jagex would let us play through previous quests to get info on old storylines like they do.

Arguably you never meet Silas until this quest.

You're sent to look for him, but you fail to find him.

That's what I was saying in a Mirc channel, we do all this for the fremmy and lunar people, and they still throw you off the island for not having a seal, especially for players like you grieving widows where's the sympathy right? that's the reward I was hoping for no more seal of passage, my beloved astrid (that's her name right? lol) got taken from me who I havent talked to since thrones of misc in 2004 or 5 and I get a new axe I need a new npc e-bridge now and a seal of passage because Babe took it off me during the quest@@ :(

[hide]walk don't run and attack everything on the way out so they're on you once you see the ladder in visible distance run up it and he should spawn behind you ;)[/hide]

Nope, but using food on him heals him.

Id suggest walking little by little, make sure he is close by and try to tank as many enimies as you can while keeping him walking.

What Smelly said. :P

As me_hate_libs has pointed out, it's essentially the same fight with the daggonoth mother in the lighthouse quest. She is a bit stronger in this quest though, so be careful.

Um, if you attack them they'll stop attacking him and you can heal him with fish. And no, that slow little bugger won't walk faster.

Since 4 are magic based attacks, 1 range 1 melee, it's going to mainly magic based so best mage attack, with some defence in there too mystic and a proselyte skirt something along those lines, stand a few squares a way so she wont melee you so its only 2 prayers to worry about, i'd say 2 prayer pots roughly a crossbow, the axe you do need for first few rounds of combat and its handy for the actual melee based portion, basically you want mainly magic attack and barrows gloves should cover the range hopefully.

Air - White

Earth - Brown

Fire - Red

Water - Blue

Orange - Melee

Green - Ranged

F3 Prayers, F4 Magic spell book have fun ;) you'll need quite a bit of food and quite abit of space for runes too I took surges but Death/Blood will be fine providing your mage attack is high enough :P

I need help with the queen idk what to pray/what attack to use/what supplies to bring

[hide]First, the colours. The first grayish color needs to be attacked of the axe.

White = air spell

Blue = water spell

Brown = earth spell

Red = fire spell

Orange = melee

And green = range

The way i did it, (the time i was sucsessful) was to wear melee barrows armour, for protection against her range attacks, while i prayed melee. I found that she didn't use her mage attack often when I stood close to her. You could also take karils or similar to protect from magic, but that'll lower your defences against ranged, which she uses much more often. I would not advice to protect against anything other than melee, since that can hit 40+. It ko'ed me once, when i tried protecting from mage.

Other than that, bring a prayer potion, perhaps stat boosting stats. A super defence could come in handy, as well as high healing food. (in case you mess up, i would say shark+)

Another tip could be to fill up a bob with more food. It gives you more room for failures, as your inventory is already filled up a bit by the runes and diffferent weapons.[/hide]

On the other hand, smelly's tactic might work just as good. She isn't really that hard.

I had Neitz helm, Mystic top, veracs skirt, barrows gloves, Axe in my hand, D boots, Barrows gloves and Firecape the runes, a crossbow in my inv, runes, 2 prayer pots, a emergency ttab + rest rocktails (I had a yak full of 30 rocktails but I never touched them) I ate about 7 food on duration of the fight

With today's update, several quest givers are giving out additional rewards for their quests. I spoke to the Lumbridge cook and got 500 gp and 5 sardines.

With Father Aereck in Lumbridge church I got 5 Ancient bones that give 200 xp when buried. It cannot be used in a POH altar.

Farmer Fred NW of Lumbridge gave me 1940 gp.

Professor Oddenstein in the top floor of Draynor Manor (wich has been graphically updated as of today) gave me 2.7k, 10 eggs and 300 feathers.

I tried every other quest NPC and there doesn't seem to be further rewards.

Gypsy Aris' tent in Varrock is different now, and so ir her NPC model. She looks much older now.

the armada is coming :P that cutscene was cool

I liked this quest, maybe the axe will turn out to be relevant to dking o.o

450k prayer xp -> rank 5945 to rank 1338 lol

I owned her pretty good with Smelly's. I just had to do it a second time because I underestimated her and needed more runes than I brought, but second time was easy if a little slow.

I tried mixing up the karil and guthan armour i was using, but to me she used range attack at least 3x as often as the mage attack. I used a god cape for mage bonus, together with an ahrim's staff i just bought for the hell of it. gave me a mage attack bonus of -2 i think, barely missed her with the mage attacks. The range ones didn't go so well, however, so i kind of gave those up.

I used piety when i was meleeing her, thought that it would be best to use the axe for all that it was good for.

Didn't jagex say they're upgrading parts of older quests? (f2p are oldest of the bunch I also know I've made a typing error but can't seem to find it maybe i'm paranoid, don't judge.)
