I simply wouldn't alch the axe because it's a free death. If I die and lose it once, I can get it back for free. It's not like the 120k or so is really worth anything

Finished that stupid thing. Thanks for an escort, which I hate but others might like, and a totally unoriginal boss fight that I feel perfectly justified criticizing you for.

Might be unoriginal but it relates to the dagannoth so it's not really since that's what the quest is related to :P I thought it was a good quest tbh but reward was too generous :P

It was far too generous a reward, but I won't complain, it got me a 99

Sadly, the Waterbirth shortcut does not work after the quest. :|

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Yes, but in the Dream World the Mother said they found a way to make the new generation tougher and that modern man didn't know a weapon to fight them. I got that this probably meant that we needed an "old' weapon like the Balmung, but I thought it was gonna change the mechanics of how she worked. She could at least do something new.

I saw it as.

She started as grey in the fight and thought she was unstoppable. But that axe could hit her, after she saw this she reverted back to the old school colours/damages.

Plus arguably the dagganoths sentinels and guardians seem something new to before, stronger, seem to have armoured patches etc.

Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig!

Im a little confused right now. :P

[hide=Me mindstorming the quest]We fought the Mother, not the Daughter right?

Or was the Mother now, the Daughter of the previous Mother?

The dagannoth found a new way at becoming invincible to human attacks, possibly the armor they were wearing. (Sentinels + Guardians).

The Balmurg however had the ability to hit through the armor because it was made from some special ore and sharpened with dagonnoth's hide.

The quest had a little much info in it throughout a short period of time, as im still confused about us getting another Dagannoth quest or not. :P [/hide]

Yes the lore of the dagganoth (as revealed by this quest is thus:

Dagganoth Mother leads the Dagganoths.

The Mother can only lead the Dagganoths When she is free.

The Dagganoth Mother was trapped under the lighthouse.

When the Mother does a Daughter evolves/grows into a new Mother (in the same way Kalphites grow into worker, soldier, guardian or queen depending on what is needed)

As we killed the trapped Mother a new Mother grew from a Daughter and thus started Dagganoth war.

[hide]So what happens with the current mother? Since we trapped her no new one will arise and the mother is not able to send orders to the rest, I take it?[/hide]

Looks like we need 75 in all offensive stats now... I've 70... so sigh, got to keep on working.

Im a little confused right now. :P

*shuns den for not reading quest dialogue*

Basically the ancient tomes revealed about the rising of the dagannoth daughter to mother and Siglim (my fremmy name) will be the saviour.

Because she's trapped it weakens the other Dagannoth from what I gathered from the dialogue from Brundt and Baba

Ohhh, I had it on first so when I hit her I didn't really register that. Plus the pills donchaknow.

Sorry, im usualy on top of all this information aswell. :( I never got to read over the tomes a second time so I couldnt remember much of it.

On top of that, its been so long since I did Horror from the deep I cant even remember doing it. Couldnt even remember who that guy in the dreams was before Baba told me. :?

Wish Jagex would let us play through previous quests to get info on old storylines like they do.

So just how hard is this quest? The combat parts anyway. Having just come back from retirement I'm pretty poor (around 6m). Would anyone recommend me a setup/supplies for this quest? Thanks in advance. (p.s., I don't want a guide, just some advice on what to bring.)

Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne.

Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!

you'll probably want to bring both some melee armour, as well as some dragonhide or similar. Take a melee weapon (for the start), and both a ranged weapon, as well as combat runes. (i didn't take robes for this, as i needed defence, but a magic staff of some kind may come in handy.) Other than that, take perhaps a couple prayer potions, and quite a lot of food.

Would a salamander work?

td2sig.jpg

Salamander might work for the end battle. But for the beginning fight, if you want to fight the far-away enemy, you will need a weapon that reaches further than the salamander.

mother DOES a daughter??
