Did anyone notice the population yesterday? Worlds were almost empyt

Yeah, I went for my daily bot reporting sweep through W7 and found far less then usual. And this was like 12 hours after the update. I guess some bot owners don't turn the bots back on right away for fear of breaking? Regardless, 12 hours after an update and there were still 50,000 less players online than normal.... :ohnoes:

I sensed the same. Normally i report some bots, but now it was desolated in Al Kharid furnace, Draynor bank and Varrock west bank.

Even 6 hours after the update. It looks like more and more players are bots or have bots active on their main account.

Positive effect: the players who where left over in the game ARE talking back! Finally a conversation. In the big mass of bots it was a wide uncomfortable silence.

You know I don't understand why they would keep the voting on the cape design open to everyone if only P2P players would get to use it. Seems a bit misleading for F2P players and unfair to P2P players if the intent was to make a P2P only cape.

It would be very nice to have the cape, even stat-less, in f2p. I like knowing who else has been playing for a while.

Yeah why on earth would they make the vote f2p if it was a p2p only cape. Its like they want to stir up trouble.

The purpose of the vote was to choose a good design for the cape. F2Pers are humans (heh, excluding the bots) and their tastes helped with choosing the best design from those given. I really don't see the basis behind the I-was-allowed-to-vote-so-I-should-get-the-cape argument. In fact, the Dragon Scimitar redesign vote was also open for F2P; did you object that time too?

This. I can't help but feel cheated, it is a complex matter and I am a 9 year player been p2p off and on. It feels sorta dirty of Jagex to just pull this out from people's noses

especially when its just a cape for christ's sake how many man hours does it take to model a flat piece of tapestry to give to some dedicated fans that have played throughout the years.

That's good, if Jagex could make small update like that every 2 to 3 days, RS will remain a better place........ When I am world 113 training, unless I am at grand exchange, everywhere else is just dead quiet despite the number of players at several popular training spot. Then it would take to long to check to see which one of them is botting because u don't want to drag legit player into it.

At the new capes and how it wasn't released to F2p. That's ok, most F2p that caliber, playing for that long won't care about that kind of stuff. You have the combat lvl to show off (whether u like it or not), and the Top 250 F2p list to rely on, those 2 beats those capes any day... oh forget to mention highscore.

Maybe you guys should not look at everything from the pure-F2P point of view.

It's not because we ( a quite small selection of players ) wont become member tomorrow or the day after,

doesn't have to mean that the thousands of other (current) free players will stay F2P forever.

In these polls, most F2P'ers simply vote for features they'll have access to in the future.

" Most players will become member at one point, so why not focus on helping them make that decision? "

This seems to be something that Jagex always keeps in mind when releasing certain updates.

I surely can't blame them. We all prefer some profit for all our hard work, don't we?

They are just as efficient as some of the players wish to be. Get as much money with as little effort possible.

Also meaning that lots of work has to bring in lots of monies of course. ;)

Anyways, it's just a cape guys & girls! :P

We'll just have to stay pleased with what we have - which is plenty!

It's just a cape, we don't need it, and it saves us 50k... *holds on to clancape*

I hope you guys aren't too upset about this. just keep in mind, there is one way to get those capes... ;)

I share the same views as you actually, Water.

Even though I won't be going members anytime soon, tons out there probably will, and it's only fair that we as a whole help members make decisions as well. |^_^|

In my opinion, any other update for f2p is simply a bonus. I'm content with what I have in f2p Runescape (if I wasn't I would have quit already).

They first say the cape will be for all players and then they slam the mem button in my face. I doubt I'll be more motivated to get members (on my skiller Feuer Hase) because of this. In fact it's demotivating. If I can't trust Jagex's words I'll have less fun playing RS and so I'll less likely buy membership. I don't think thats Jagex's intention.

Q - The death system in dungeoneering seems a bit extreme it's so easy so mis-click into a room by trying to open the door and instantly lose 14% exp. Are there any plans to address this issue?

A - No!

i think i remember them saying that they will want to add an confirmation message while it is a boss room.

eep I did not realize until today that they had the same design.

Dungeoneering q&a qc: 254-255-85-62748152

notables for me,

q) The XP cap for F2P players severely limits players to train dungeoneering and really puts a really weird fix to an issue that could potentially be solved another way. Are there any changes to the F2P cap?

a) There are no plans to change this.

q - Right now, teams that skip every resource, leave every monster alive, let themselves die and don't even pay attention to the dungeon are able to get 3 times more experience than normal teams, who are able to get 7 times more experience than soloers. Why is this?

a - Yes I agree that's fundementally wrong. I want to increase the XP you get for clearing rooms properly, but we are waiting for some data before we can do that.

Q - Rangers have been requesting an Ava's device for use within Daemonhiem for some time. A few have suggested placing the device's effect on the Ring of Kinship. Is something like this possible?

A - Possibly yes. This is on the list for "inside dungeon rewards" which I would like to work on at some point.

lack of capes due to clipping, lolz!

As long as Jamflex isn't a Jamflex on that and rushers don't get penalized in any way, I would be happy with this.

My solution: Make it so that level mod goes up to +25% instead of +10%. Makes more room for getting more xp per monster killed, and actually get penalized LESS for rushing (because of the increased percentage range).

Hopefully that would be fairly significant.

You are completely missing the point. If Jagex had said the capes were p2p from the onset there would not be a single person complaining.

No one here is complaining that F2P doesn't get enough benefits. They are complaining that Jagex said the capes would be for all players but didn't deliver.

The wording suggests that it would be available for F2P players in addition to P2P players.

The winning veteran cape design will soon be available to all players who have had a Runescape account for at least five years.

Ah, ninja'd...

But yeah, until now whenever Jagex said 'all players' it has always meant F2P inclusive so we assumed that it would still mean that now. I guess we now have no way of predicting if an update is F2P from BTS's anymore... <_<

Jeez im still pissed off about, i was really looking forward to the veteran cape, is there any other way to find how old your account is in f2p?

Nope, don't think so.

Don't be too pissed, lighten up. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time :)

Does anyone know any good money making methods that involves skilling? I'm quite low on cash atm (like 400k lol), I want to get 90 mining, so think I'm going to try and mine iron at Falador and bank at the resource dungeon, got the urns for 90 all banked too. Will maybe use that later on smithing (artisan workshop). I just want to make like 10M, don't need much more and would rather train skills than do merchanting at the moment, never even tried doing that, read Zarfot's guide though a few days ago. I want to skill my way to 10M, maybe try my luck at merchanting some after I get to 10M, who knows.

Botkilling doesn't require any skill, just patience.

Speaking of which, a scorpion just killed a lvl 8 in full steel. He dropped 5k raw swordfish and 6k raw tuna. worth ~1.4m... yay!

I think that puts me at 99 cooking.
