That proportion is not so small as you may think (hope). And since you can't prove that wrong either, Bassy is also right.

Prove me wrong. He made unsourced, unfounded claims, I stated facts. Who's wrong here?

It is not a fact that corp teams are the only ones keeping the bgs up in price, nor has it been verified that only a small portion of the demand is from 'noobs'.

Then what ARE you refering to ?

I don't know which mod did this. I don't know why they did it. If they're looking for money, I can tell them I don't have any as I'm a student. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over 4 years of RuneScape. Skills that I have worked hard for and people like them can't take them away. If they give me my particles back now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for them, I will not pursue them. But if they don't, I will look for them, I will find them, and they won't like what'll happen

A small portion of misinformed 'noobs' doesn't keep the demand curve high for very long. Unless you could prove there are a lot of these 'noobs' in proportion to those who actually know what a Chaotic can do, I'm still right.

Wow, look who just did the same thing?

While you may have a reasonable point, chaotics are not a perfect substitute, and they are certainly not free (recharge cost + opportunity cost of getting to 80 dg). Currently less than 30k people actually have access to chaotic weapons, while over 800k the ability to use a godsword.

street price of divine = rank 1 dung

I lol'd so hard, haha.

For those who don't know, current #1 dung the former #1 a Divine SS for trade price so she'd stop dunging :)

And I didn't name names so I didn't break any rules FYI.

So hey guys i have found an old account with a red partyhat, a santa hat, 2 green masks and a red mask on it (Im happy as hell).

How should i trade stuff to get a divine?

You could trade red phat for a divine straight up. I'd do it lol.

I wouldn't its a freakin party hat.

Party hats have no inherent gameplay value. Spirit Shields actually have a use. I would absolutely swap a phat for a divine, as amassing pointless wealth is, frankly, boring, and when that's all that's left to do in a game, I usually just quit playing.

Do all your posts have to look like it was written from an amateur who just got back on rs from a short term break? Seriously.

It's obvious you don't own a partyhat, or never felt having one before for that matter so your definition of "frankly" "boring" is just as obtuse

as your head is.

Fun games are fun when they're fun. Eventually you get to a point where more money and xp aren't noticeably enhancing your fun, and there's no shame in declining to pursue them past that point. After all, how much money do you need? You don't get a prize for being the richest player, so if you're not deriving some personal satisfaction from your wealth and none of your goals involve collecting rares, it's perfectly reasonable to spend it, no? Zelda Spirit Tracks was a fun game, but that doesn't mean I'm going to waste my time grinding minigames to try and find all the train parts after I've already beaten the final boss.

I mean, we all know that partyhats are baubles whose value comes from their scarcity rather than their utility. They don't add anything to the actual gameplay, their only purpose is storing and showing off wealth, blah blah blah. They do evoke certain emotions of awe or whatnot in lots of people, and for those people, the partyhat might be worth the price. But those feelings are far from universal, and I'm sure you know that, so there's no need to talk down to me like I'm some poor crazy idiot who just doesn't understand how partyhats are super-special-awesome serious business.

But you are acting like one. You completely ignore the intrinsic value of a party hat, which is there due to rarity.

Id keep the party hat for the novelty and ever increasing wealth, and then play the game as normal as i usually do.

As far as im concerned i can live without a divine, and i can live without a partyhat, but what can i say, i like/would like the attention more than i would a better shield, plus its increasing value means i can always trade it for a divine if i ever feel the compulsion, but not the other way around.

O.O

I have owned a partyhat, have not owned one, and own one again now. I know how it feels and I cal tell you that when you have one, it's nothing special (which is why I ended up selling my hat several times before now), and when you don't, you somehow feel the urge to get one back cause you know it's rising (well, the 2 times I sold my hat, they ended up doubling in value after that). However, flaming Troacctid cause he doesn't feel the need to get one, is going a bit far IMO.

I'm pretty sure a red partyhat is worth far more then a divine. It might be somewhere around a divine and a green or yellow partyhat, maybe. I'm not up to date on street atm, but last I heard divine had dropped in street down between purple and yellow.

Uh...no...I said it has no inherent gameplay value and that its value comes from its scarcity rather than its utility. And those are just facts...I don't think anyone would reasonably dispute them.

troactid is right. a partyhat does not help you do anything in the game. a divine does. this is why i traded a higher phat for a lower phat + divine. i don't regret it at all.

also divines rise in the ge as well. i've made over 50m from my divine rising since i bought it. not to mention all the monster hunting i've done with it.

Too true. Same thing happened to me, and I can't part with it again simply because of the fact that it's rising and nearly impossible to reobtain.

Could easily debate that, as merchanting, and supply and demand, as well as street price, and buying power are all intrinsically part of the current RS market. Use in solo-style gameplay? No. It won't help you kill a boss. But it will help if you use it as a commodity.

To buy a divine :P. How's my favourite shield doing on the market?

Whats the deal with fury kits? I know I've asked this before, and was told they were down to like 80m or so street value, but just yesterday I went to world 2 at the G.E. I saw a guy trying to buy a fury kit and was offering a third-age melee set for it (414m mid price). Are they rising in street?

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.
