Sir_Kurity
If anything, only the wreath holds meritfor having the highest prayer in the headslot.Second-highest, if halos count. (And I would argue that they do.)Halos technically have no prayer bonus. But yea, true. Halos only take what, 100 hours to get on average. As opposed to the ridiculous price for wreath now which with phats as a street price would be worth far, far more than 100 hours. Then again, none of these new items are ever wanted for the stats =D O.O
stonewall337
IMO merchers sell most of the phats. Merchant sells phat for items A, B and C, and rebuys from another player for A and B.Opinion. No, I'm actually a pre-law student. As such, opinions, without either observation, proof, evidence, etc, mean NOTHING to me, nor do they add anything to this thread. As such, show WHY you think so, or I'l say again, its your opinion, and I won't even consider it without some reason WHY I should do so. For example, I know blue party hat is the most valuable phat. I can see that from forums, w2, the GE graph (Which only relates to GE price not street) as well as cheating sites where people pay far more for a blue then for a purple. As such, I can back up my observation. Your opinion has numerous logical issues. First, what do you mean by merchant? Most people mis define merchent as anyone who uses the GE to make money, eg manipulators, etc. They aren't all the same. Merchents work on supply and demand, as well as the ability to "snipe" certain items. As well, there is another logical flaw, saturation. Phat trades aren't rare. If they happened as you said, soon the merchents would own so many Phats that no more would be traded in even close to similar numbers to what they currently are. Etc etc. In short, what you describe is NOT how the market works, and although you may have an opinion that says so, your opinion is WRONG. There are opinions, "Castle wars is a more fun activity then slayer" "Fire surge is the coolest looking spell". Then there are FACTS. "Extreme potions are more powerful then super potions" "The Whip is better to slay with then the dragon mace, after 70 attack". Etc. Stev
Stone, think about ti this way... Elysians were huge merchanting tools. Merchanters bought them to sell them minutes / hours / days later for more then they paid. They have no interest in holding them for lengthy periods of time. Then there's the public. I busted my ass for an Elysian. I no-lifed TDs for ages to be able to buy it the only way I could.. Off a merchanter who wanted double it's GE value. People (The public) do the same for phats. After spending so much time to get them and making the money for them, we have no interest in selling. Ever. In that respect, I fully support i_D_r's opinion. You could use the RSOF as an example. You'll see user X buying an Ely / Phat. Shortly after they get it, you see a thread by that same player, or they stand at the GE, selling the item for more. The public who want these items will hold them because they've worked hard for them. All the time at the GE, you see player X with some phats. The very next day, they've got different phats / divines / etc because they don't keep them.

I'm not saying you gotta agree (everything on here is IMO but i specifically typed that acronym), I just stated something based on some passive random observations, as stated in my following post. I'm not about to do statistical analysis to back up my opinion, nor will I try to define a normative term (at least in RS) such as merchanting. DyingSilent
I kinda laughed at FindYourFate's comment on Stonewall's apparant overuse of commas because when I look at Stonewall's post I only see comma's where they're needed which is where he uses multiple examples and I don't see how that even really applies to this discussion since as far as we're concerned this thread is about RuneScape and not grammar and to be honest I think Stonewall used comma's appropriately because if he hadn't you would have a really really really really long sentence like the one I just typed that is hard to read and by far the worst run-on I've ever written in my life. *DEEP BREATH* And since when do comma's even have the ability to be "incorrect." There isn't really a right comma and a wrong comma... Much needed unspam: Fury kits are dropping, as Blade mentioned, about 80m street right now. stonewall337
No, I'm actually a pre-law student. As such, opinions, without either observation, proof, evidence, etc, mean NOTHING to me, nor do they add anything to this thread. Your opinion without basis is WORTHLESS here. This is a FACT thread, an OBSERVATION thread, and any OPINION should have something to back it up. Not just an IMO. As such, show WHY you think so, or I'l say again, its your opinion, and I won't even consider it without some reason WHY I should do so. For example, I know blue party hat is the most valuable phat. I could go into more reasons, but there shouldn't be any need to at this point. If you're a pre-law student I hope to God you're a freshman. You use more incorrect and unnecessary commas than a junior high drop out. So, good, luck, with, your, LSATS. and: It's MERCHANT. Wrong, at least as far as commas go. I even double, and triple checked my work. Nice ad hominum/ straw man as well. Not to mention, in instances where correct grammar is irrelevant, due to this not being as "technical" as a paper, etc, the point is far more important. Now, a mis definition, or failure to define terms is a far different matter. As well, only the first sentence was aimed at the childish name caller. The rest was to clarify the purpose of this thread. but I digress. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. Numismaster
Immature response. Can we please stop attacking each other? It's getting really old. <_< OT: I have a noob f2p account with a Santa hat and 110M that I solo merchant with (mostly just flipping crashing items). Since the Santa hat has been fairly stable around the 100M mark but the Red mask is still falling, would it be better financially to hold the Santa hat for possible future gains and merch with the 110M or sell the Santa hat to buy a Red mask for min (instant 7 mil profit) and merch with the 70M? Or should I buy 2 Santa hats and merch with only 16M? I like Santa hats because they are a more fluid item than the masks (faster upward potential), but masks tend to retain their value longer during a crash (fewer price updates). But if the masks recover, will this cause the Santa Hat to fall temporarily (as people sell Santa hats to free up cash for buying masks)? And is there any possible chance that I could acquire a partyhat on that account (given lots of time, effort, and determination)? Thanks and  for keeping this thread alive.
