I'm going to be plain and simple and say NO. It is written by one of the world 2 merchants who, like most others, buy for lower, seller for higher, and manipulate prices through propaganda. Although his information seems accurate (except for partyhat cash street prices), he can easily slip (on purpose) and manipulate a price if he sees an avid following to his thread. RSOF is something you shouldn't really trust because it's too hard to moderate all the content that goes on there, causing it to be infested with bad 'stuff'.

In the end, the same can be said about this thread.

The only real rare you can buy is a Santa. You could get some semi-rares, though.

Personally I'd keep flipping if I were you til you have maybe 50m cash + money for a santa. But if you don't want to do that I'd say buy now. The prices is stable and I see no reason for it to crash. If you're lucky people may try to buy them out again.

Anyone have insight on green mask?

 

I just bought one to avoid losing money on a merch that I did and I'm not really sure what to do with it.

I figured it was a safe buy as opposed to keeping my merched item and losing tons of cash on that.

With everything there is, there is corruption. You of course are well aware of this because it even happens within the P mod community. However, due to the fact that the majority of us aren't full-time merchants, there hasn't been any real incentive for the active posters of this thread to even try to curve things for their own advantage. Not to mention that most posts about major subjects (i.e crashes and buyouts) will get comments by people who have a relative idea what they are talking about and know when to question something. Our intelligence level is higher than the average person who is going to browse RSOF for prices on items also. There are many reasons why this thread is much better an example of true prices on items , with the main one being we're a different type of base of players, with the exception of a few who have had posts hidden for manipulation, who tend not to want to make profit off of trickery. With all information posted anyone, people should believe it at their own risk, some, like Tip.it, can be more readily believed than others, like RSOF.

So if the merchants own most of the rares, circulate most of the wealth, and are the driving forces behind most of the RuneScape economy, wouldn't their prices be the "right" price (since they appear to be in control)?

 

On a side note, is there any chance of my noob account getting a green phat someday (or will they climb forever)?

Not unless something unpredictable and drastic happens. There are simply too many people with money and too few rares, more and more people will continue to get money and the amount of rares will stay the same. There aren't enough rares to satisfy the demand.

Since I do corp a fair bit, I am curious if the recent update to the divine spirit shield will have any effect on its overall usefulness, and thus its price. I'm not really sure how many people used the shield for PvP vs PvM solos.

 

Is the demand so high on the shield for solos the update wouldn't matter, or do you think divine may start to even out in price with some people switching to Elysian instead of Divine for PvP use-age?

* Adjusted the code for the divine spirit shield to correctly reduce damage in all circumstances.

 

The problem with this shield was that in PVP the shield still reduced damage even after you'd run out of prayer.

 

The divine shield effect now stops working all-together when your prayer reaches 0 as it did in PvM.

Well, the primary use of the divine is MHing, not PvP. I've only seen a few divines in PvP, and these players would be praying the entire time anyway. I don't see this is a really large change to affect them. Perhaps they lose a little street in panic until people realize that nothing has changed.

Like bladewing said people might panic but then realize that nothing big happened. I doubt that people boss hunt/pvp would let their prayer drop to 0 anyways.
