3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion

Welcome to the world of unbuyables which was made possible by Jagex and the grand exchange.

 

 

 

Easters, pumpkins, and disks were very cheap and an easy target for merchants to buy the majority of the stock and hoard them in their banks just like 3rd age. This causes people to also try and buy them making a public demand so it's all there for a buyout.

 

 

 

Partyhats are also currently bought out so why would you trade something for the GE limit when you could sell it for smaller rare items and cash? Basically they trade a big unbuyable for a few smaller unbuyables which makes sense.

You have to be an active merchant instead of some lazo who sits and waits on the GE all day which I feel is a good thing.

How low do you think spectral will go?

I'd say the spectral is worth around 60-75M, but it will be constantly bought out until enough of the public have it that public demand will drop and cause the crash; or they could get manipulated up too high and crash, one of the two will work.

Partyhats drop a bit in street price today which could either mean a start of a crash or that more people are managing to get them. However, they are still strong and if they do crash the majority of the partyhats will be bought up by the public and then merchants will follow with another buyout starting with the higher p hats.

 

 

 

Althought, at this very moment in time there are no signs of a crash but merly a dip in street price which happens.

Well, at this time, people are trying to trade their purple and yellow phats for 3a melee plate and legs. Been 4 offers for mine so far, but I have no use for paper hats at this time.

 

Any input on that?

The plate and legs seem to have been bought out quite nicely but 3rd age can't be held for long.

I don't get how putting the offer right after g.e. updates thing works, there has to be someone selling for the new max in order for someone to buy for the new max right?

 

 

 

So that means that whoever is selling puts out their offer right when the g.e. updates, but that doesn't really accomplish anything.. they might as well put it up at any other time during the day and get the same result

The person who put their offer in first at the new price will get the first one sold at anytime of day if any at all of course. The person who is selling can sell at anytime of day but the person who put the offer in first will be the one getting it.

Yup, Disks are really hard to obtain. I had offers in right after the ge updated but only managed to get one.

You wont regret putting your money on discontinued items, unless they somehow end up being untradable

You wont regret putting your money on discontinued items, unless they somehow end up being untradable

 

 

 

Depends on how you look at it really. They can only get rarer as time goes on, but the players have a say in prices. If you're looking for a very long term investment, then sure..but as a short term, partyhats can crash at any time and drop down to the prices we saw 6 months ago (~70m for a purple etc). Besides, you never know whats coming; Jagex could release a brand new skill tommorrow which is a huge money-sinker.
