how can a mint be like 11mil when in ge its only a few hundred k trade limit prevents that....

btw santa crash has begun

We have gone over this too many times in the topic but here is it in a nutshell. People use junk that they have in their bank to boost their side of the trade. Junk is an item that has a lower street value then the GE price. Take unstrung willow bows for example. They have a GE price of 32 but no one wants to buy them. The street value of them is pretty much nothing. So if someone is fletching and they have 10k (u) bows they can use them to boost their side of the trade.

People also trade these high street value items for rising or other item that are higher on the street then the GE.

Yes, santas dropped 1.3M last update. I just bought 2 for min price (29.995M). On the RSOF people are offering santa + mint for pure cash.

People add junk so the buyer buys the mint cake with loads of unsellable stuff, for a total of 11m. On a related note, anyone know a good way to make 10m junk fast? ;-)

So i have a red mask and I'm in need of cash with no junk.

When should i sell my mask, soon?

If the mask is going to continue to rise I'll keep it but if not i might sell it.

I guess really, at that price (GE) should i sell my mask and / or when is it suppose to stop raising?

i believe lending items is the most conservative way to convert junk back into cash. however, most people buy crashing items in exchange for junk in hopes to sell it again in the future.

I'm sorry, I meant produce the junk, not get rid of it. Fletching bows is painfully slow, I won't be boss hunting for addy p++ arrows with these stats, and buying junk off another player completely destroys the purpose.

Waterfilled and empty vial and Eye of Newt boxes?

Oh wow, sorry, should've checked the prices before suggesting that...

Yes that is the eternal question that I have also asked many times. How to easily make load and loads of junk!

I think the simplest answer is to go borrow an AGS on world 2 for 24 hours, but you're really losing money if you do that, especially if you aren't going to use the ags.

I've decided it might be easiest to just use the mint in combination with cash to buy a rare. Money is not an issue, but are there any low-value rares that would need a mint to purchase?

Well since this is pretty much the merchanting thread, might as well ask here. I just came back to runescape with a goal of 95 prayer, which means buying over 35K dragon bones. They seem to have gone up alot since I left. My question is, should I buy them now or wait? Thanks in advance.

Not related to rares, but an interesting tidbit on tokkul:

Obby capes, shields, and mauls are all dropped by thzaar. Now that farming thzaar is the fastest way to get tokkul for the coveted fury, more of those may enter the game through this method.

The lower-end obby items, such as the knife, mace, sword, and staff are not dropped by the thzaar. Most of these are at their 1:1 tokkul to gp price (i.e. knife is 35k tokkul, 35kish gp in ge). The sword is 120kish and rising though, most likely due to its whip-like utility. Pre-tokkul updates, these were all 100k+ gp. They lowered so much, because you essentially spend 35k in fire runes, and buy a dagger for that amount, and resell it in ge for more. Hence why they all fell to their tokkul price. Fury never did because it actually took hours to sell 2.7m worth of fire runes to the ge,and the onyx price compensated for that time.

Now, fury is 1:3+ tokkul to gp and rising, and will continue to rise. At max combat, best gear, turmoil, and extremes, I can manage 90k tokkul an hour, MAX. This means even for the best player, it takes at least 30 hours to obtain a fury. At current prices, this is roughly 300k an hour, so I contend fury will rise even more, because a maxed player can make much more than that an hour, without focusing on one activity for 30 hours.

This also means the dagger that is 35k tokkul equates to roughly 100k an hour for a maxed player with the best abilities.

In essence, do you think this creates a merching oppurtunity for these lower end items? DIscuss.

Pray 2lum or Smokin doesn't see this. They'd hire you on the spot.

EDIT : They already snagged capes, the plague has begun.

It was obvious that all Tzhaar items would rise like mad after the update. Shields, weapons, fury, all were bought out at the start of the update. I've also noticed that people haven't been using obby shield in pvp anymore because it's unbuyable.

Yes, but those items have ridiculous tokkul ratios, and aren't worth the time to attain them. He was referring to the lower items.

Knives, maces, and swords are all dropped by Thzaar.

And the onyx is really the only super expensive item. I think the shield is like 67k tokkul or something like that, so that would take like no time at all to get, assuming you don't get one from a drop.

Are you sure about maces? Like, have you or anyone you know ever gotten one? I know that they're listed as being dropped by the 150s but if they are, they are considerably rarer than any of their other special drops...

And of course staves are only dropped by the mages, which are a pain to kill.

Both of these items are likely... The rarest of the bunch...

Also; lol@Garfe again...

That used to be true but when I quit/retired I did a Falador party and dropped it all in the chest.

Seems like a nice time buy a santa! Lol I told people not to sell off theirs since low prices means it's time to BUY not sell. Yay.

Addy arrows (p++) are funny :P

I have got them quite a lot lately from Zammy and noticed that they are actually rising junk currently. Reason for that is (imo) that weapon poison ++ seems to be merched which makes all poisoned items to rise along.

My question is do you think this is an intentional move by someone who has got a lot of those arrows to rise their value?

I'd say that's definitely a possibility, and pretty ingenious too if so :P

But it might be harder to get rid of the arrows in bulk (trading them by selling off a rare) to a half-smart mercher, but I'm sure there's some sucker out there.

Actually they're some of the best junk there is because it's not crashing due to its floor and, as you, said it rises sometimes. So it's quite easy to either lend it out or sell it with a rising item because of how good it is.

Oh definitely :P I was just referring to the current state of them.

Side note: Bandos plate, tassets, and DFS seem to be tapering off now, although it is too early to have any certainty with that statement; armadyl armor is definitely tapering off now.

Furies are a few hundo K off of mid; I'd expect them to jump up again shortly. At 9 mil, farming for furies is only 300k an hour for the best players, not counting drops.
