I thought about this a little while ago, on the whole RWIT subject...

What keeps RWIT from being knowledgeable enough to procure rares (or any items with large gaps between prices) and sell them at mid for a fee? If the items are in high demand then the person buying that item can go and sell at max, potentially making several million in GP.

Of course any item like that is probably unbuyable on the Grand Exchange (as previously mentioned) and would require in-depth knowledge of the market and a lot of patience...

... Maybe we should stop giving them ideas... #-o

There is already frequent RWT going on with heavily bought out items. For example, when uncut dragonstones were bought out, I know of a person who sold his stock of over 5K stones for mid for around $300 USD, allowing the person to turn over 200M over the course of the buyout. With rares it's to a lesser extent because of their actual demand along Runescape players. However, I'm sure it goes on sometimes, but it is not something a company, per say, can organize like they used to.

3rd age is at the rise again. they're bought out for sure since people are trading them for rares.

Stonewall, I'm pretty sure that a lot less people are willing to pay for fake online game currency than online game currency.

I would call their current 'set prices' system effective at preventing RWT.

Well, let's assume bandos chestplates are crashing, and are trading at a street value of cash for mint + BCP. Consider this:

 

You buy a mint from a RWT site.

You buy a BCP for minimum, instantly on the grand exchange (-23.8m)

You sell a BCP for med, with a mint (25.1m)

 

You made a profit of 1.3m. If historical rates apply (adjusted for inflation), you would probably pay about 2.50 USD for 1m, or 3.25 USD for a mint. A gold farmer could gold farm about 800k an hour playing gnome restaurant one one account, and take the mints (about one every ninety minutes) to sell to more players. 800k + 866k = 1.66m per hour, or about $4 an hour, which is a lot better than what standard wages in developing nations are. I'd say the risk for mint RWTing is very likely, if it's not already ocurring.

the BEST bet would be obby capes. if you look at the graph, it may stabilize in a few days which means that more buyers would prefer them over other junks.

Basically any item that is falling...h'weens(big maybe), santas, gwd armours. Look into it and if you see a lot of people selling that item and taking junk buy it min and sell it with the mint. Quite simple, but you have to find the item ;)

 

@Obby capes...the thing is noone but desperate people will take them. Most people who want mints aren't all that desperate, so I'd advise against them.

Spectrals and Arcanes are now selling with 1-2 mints, so they're almost recovered. Eysian and Divine have taken a hit, and are not wanted anymore on the street. Not sure of their price, but it is still well above GE.

Maybe thats a bit to much, I'd rather think they would choose Mjolnirs, since you can only obtain them once on every account. (And looking at their prices, it has already begun for the saradomin one)

Elysian and Divine took a major hit in street price lately. They are not selling for partyhats and are barley getting away with being traded for edibles. I have yet to sell an Ely or Divine sell for straight cash with junk added so don't get your hopes up there. What you can try to do is get a disk or two eggs (approx what an ely is worth) for cash (junk added to the edibles ofc) and trade for an elysian that way. Expect to pay roughly 550-600M for the elysian or try to get lucky in the GE.

I can't buy a green for purple + mints, but when I sell the purple for egg I can buy the green and sell all of the junk I get (with leftover mints)? I hate the discontinued market.
