I was searching for runehq but i stumbled upon Tip.It instead

Googled "Runescape" help when I was a wee newbie.

First runescape site, it's only competitor was runevillage, I chose tip.it because the forums had more life.. but I attended runevillages drop partys, henner and hiker (I think those are the names) sure knew how to host drop partys! like monthly phat sets dropped, dmeds etc awesomeee

I was searching for a guide on the Stronghold of Security, because I just wanted to know how many spawns of each monsters there were.

 

It turns out I stumbled across this Nintendo-something name who had a great guide posted on Tip It. He also wrote about F2P mining, it seems.

 

I lurked for a while, and finally joined this awesome community. :)

I found Tip.it for guide and help in Runescape back in 2004.

Through RuneHQ. I clicked the partner's page and saw tip it. Turned out to be so much better than RHQ.

Then my friend who had introduced me to Runescape showed me the magical Tip.It and I've loved it ever since and I never use any other RS help sites... ok well maybe I've cheated on Tip.It a couple times with Zybez and RHQ but only a few times.

I used Tip.it since 2007, but only joined Forums in December.

I heard someone giving advice to another player in Falador and they mentioned Tip.it. Curious, I went to check it out and never left :P

Dude. I made this account in 2004. I can barely remember what I had for breakfast yesterday let alone how I found a website 6 years ago!

I think my brother showed it right back in RSC when this website came up. However, I used this site for at least 4 years, before I found out it had a forum LOL. man, when I discovered the forum I was like "o [cabbage]"

Friend was annoyed that I kept asking him questions so he made me go to tip it. I never used the forums from 03 - 06 then one day I got so bored I made an account and here I am.

Trying to do doric's quest, I needed help so I asked around. A guy told me to visit tip it, as it was basically the only help site back then. Joined the forums 3 years later and been here ever since :thumbsup:

I remember when me and my friend used tip.it frequently which was mid classic and I didn't like quest guides but I think I had trouble on ernest chicken the lever bit so I didn't know how the guides worked (turns out you had to highlight the text for spoliers) but now it's evolved slightly since then!

For me it was back in the day when jagex had the links for fan site on their main page in 2001/2001

Only ever really been tipit for fan sites for me, the others just felt wrong as a community to me.

I think I just remember googling "Runescape help" or something and it showed up, along with Zybez and Sal's.

I searched for help on something I can't remember. Back in the day when I had no idea what a 'Forum' was. I eventually decided to click on it, and my life was complete.

Can't quite remember how I came across Tip.it, pretty sure it was a search engine as I ended up telling everyone on my friends list about Tip.it afterwards which means it couldn't have been one of them telling me in the first place. I was probably looking at some of the quest guides on the site, I do remember joining the forum sometime shortly after finding the site to trade coal and iron in the marketplace.

O.o good question. I remember first using a finnish fan site, Lord Timppa's rs pages, because I was relatively newb and my english skills were limited. After I quit Runescape for couple of years I came back and saw that Lord Timppa had shut down his sites but there was a link to tip.it. That's how I probably started using Tip.It actively.

Back in around 2001 or so I found it. Used it for a while but I was a bit of a troublemaker back then and got banned :P Joined again in '05 and the rest is history.
