POLL: How did you first discover Tip.It?

Featured Replies

I actually heard of RuneHQ before Tip.it, but HQ was way too g-rated for me.

Anyways, I marked other because I actually heard about tip.it just reading the chat one day while I played. I don't remember exactly what I was doing, but one player said to another, "That is what you get for using tip.it". I didn't know what they were talking about so I googled it and viola. I didn't register for the forums for awhile, I just read the information, but I don't think the forums were quite as Jagex butt-kissy as they are today.

The joined to the left is the second time I joined. Started reading tip.it over 4 years ago.

I used RuneHQ for guides back in 2004 and 2005. But in the summer of 2005 I was doing a clue scroll so I asked a friend for help, and he said that TipIt had a great clue scroll guide, which it did. So ever since that I used TipIt.

Yes, that sig was annoying.

Searched RuneScape help when I was a noob and used the calculators for about a year before I saw the forums and decided to have something to read while smithing cannonballs...

Either "Runescape Help" from Google or a Friend mentioned in RS.

It was so long ago that I can't wuite remember, but I think it was the site that all my friends were using when we played in school. Ah, the good ol day when we would go to the computer lab at lunch and sit in a row and just play RS....man! That was like 6 years ago.

Anyway, once I got the internet at home I signed up for TiF and lurked for a while, forgot my password, resigned uo with this name, lurked for a couple more years, mostly only posting in Rate This (probably why my post count is so low).

Only recently did I start really posting here in GenDisc.

I used Sals for months when I first started RS, all my friends encouraged me to go to "tipit", but I always thought they meant tipit.com, not tip.it

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

I actully made an account on Tip.it because of the memories this poll brung back.

Way back in 6th grade (like 5 years ago). A guy named Kane with a double set of front top teeth told me about a website to help me with quests, called

'Tip Dot It Slash Runescape Slash'

Since then I've found other runescape help sites, but they are just too laggy, even for my new Vista. I dont see me leaving Tip.it anytime soon, and five years is along time to use something without making an account <3.

P.S. Thankyou for aiding me in obtaining my QuestCape ;)

it was mentioned in a Q&A on Sals' main site somewhere.

I typed in "Runescape fansites" or something like that. I was more interested in the TET events at the time though :D

I agree with baconisbacon, Cbow looks freaking sensual

I needed help with Romeo and Juliet, so I asked a friend and he showed me tip.it.

Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here!

I stumble upon it when I was in a world and a TET event was going on.

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

A guy I knew in real life told me to go to it. I'm pretty sure I was bugging him for quest help and he was getting annoyed. I think it was about mid 2005 or so.

[bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp

Quite amazing to see the word of mouth advertising our site is getting ...Tip.It has come a long way since its humble beginnings.

Answer:

I was also introduced to this site by a friend who sadly no longer plays anymore. Was asking advice on one of the nooby F2p quests and basic skilling...he directed me here and I've been here ever since . Took me awhile to get a little braver and actually create a forum account though.

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

Through a RL friend who also introduced Runescape to me (I remember there were 6 servers then). Tip.it comes to my mind first whenever I need help ever since then

I believe I was looking at quest guides, and I was also fascinated by The Gallery board.

My IRL friend got fed up with me asking him for help with everything under the sun so he told me to Google Tip.It and I did. Never looked back since
