Soloing the glutton (or something) beast was ALOT easier then with a team, for me anyway.

I just slap on soul split + turmoil and stand infront of the 1 carcass there is. Dont even have to eat. (He's at 156 when I did that.)

P.S. Nice one libs. :P I ment the name of the song you got the beat from. ;)

[hide]

How do you kill the thing that eats in a duo... My friend and I were trying to kill it, and the thing *always* started eating again when I ran back in after dieing... I just logged out after 7 deaths. We had no problem doing a lot of damage while we were still alive, as we were standing in front of the food, but when either of us died and ran back inside, it would start eating again. None of us attacked it as we ran back inside.

... Annoying.

Also, if you solo, are you given puzzles/monsters that require more than one person to kill? Let's say I'm soloing. Would I have to fight the Gluttonous thing by chance?

Edit: Another thing. How do you "reset" prestige (as in locking it in place once I get a good level)?

You don't die.

That can't seriously be the only way...[/hide]

You reset prestige on the party forming interface.

And the other way is to play with more people. With 3 people there are only two carcasses still, so there's some flexibility. But I like my solution better.

And er... whoever answered "make a gatestone," how does that solve the problem at all? The problem is someone needs to stand between the monster and the carcass, a way of escaping that's not dying doesn't help. >.<

Any more than two people, and the dungeon takes ages to complete...

Your criticism is extremely thought provoking.

Great, found what I thought two knowledgeable tipiters that picked up all the drops and refused to make armour for me because 'it wasn't needed'.

Guess who just lost the boss fight 5x in a row.

Enough of whining, in other news:

They cannot be equipped but the runes do work (they have a different id though).

knew it would only be a matter of time until that happened lol

How do you complete the light one with one person? Where you stand on the pressure pads? It was required and I only had one person... >_>

No it doesn't? We were going through fairly quickly, if you don't count Shorty's tendency to go "OMGSTEGGYTHINGY" every time we met one of those trappable things, and spend 5 minutes catching it.

Besides, I prefer long dungeons. You get more time to build up your equipment, and you get much more experience to compensate.

@3pointman

If you think you need multiple players for the light obelisk, you're misunderstanding that challenge. You stand on the pressure pad to hold that light still, and you need all 4 lights to hit the center simultaneously. Just adjust them one at a time...

No but surely if you create one inside the room with the monster you can teleport back in quick enough after you die.

I wonder if the items give drop potential if you die in PVP.

Can you? My first encounter with this monster was a disaster. When my brother and I finally figured it out, he accidentally stepped out of line, and stepped back into position. That split second was enough for the beast to move through anyways...

Full prometheum, w/ battleaxe. The platebody is my bound piece.

What a shame to lose this and start over... again & again & again.

PvP is not for me

Doesn't work when you have level 100's as your partners... Being level 138, the monsters are still really difficult with a group of weak people, but they never do any damage, so it never helps... A lot of my higher level friends are level like 30 something Dung, so that wont do me any good, either, lol.

I've no idea but it might be worth trying if you're really stuck. The gatestone might also block the monster off similarly to how a player does, again I've got no idea. :P

Level 5 so far, and I'm loving it. However I do not think it would be wrong to say dungeoneering is the best minigame Jagex has ever made.

One thing I would like added would be on the map, a small picture of what is needed for each door. Its annoying getting a key and then having to search for the door it opened that you left 10 minutes prior. Especially when you have the maze room with the portals which is tedious to keep running through.

not like i'm going to do it but that's what was told to me

is it the obelisk thing with four colours streaming across the floor into the center?

if so the objective is for the colours to reach the obelisk at the same time, so you stand on the pads one by one to stagger them so they enter at the same time. start with one colour, get it going at the second rate of another etc.

Overview of the weapons for now (correct me if I am mistaking)

Rapier - Best atk and str for 6 speeded weapon

Longsword - Best ATK and STR for 5 speeded 1 handed weapon. More ATK than Rapier, less average DMG (because of the lesser speed), more DMG than rapier on higher level monsters (because of the attack bonus)

BattleAxe - Best STR for 4 speeded 1 handed weapon. Less ATK than Longsword and less average DMG on low level monsters(because of the lesser speed), more DMG than longsword on higher level monsters (because of the attack bonus)

WarHammer - Best ATK for 4 speeded 1 handed weapon. More ATK than Longsword and less average DMG (because of the lesser speed).

Maul - ?

Spear - best ATK and STR for 5 speeded 2 handed weapon. More ATK and DMG than longsword. Most likely more DMG than rapier because of the bigger attack bonus. Less defense since you lose the ability to wield a shield. Can attack in all 3 melee styles with decent attack bonus.

So for now the spear is the best melee weapon ?

Best choice for:

Fastest weapon - Rapier (better than dagger)

Best Stab - Spear

Best Slash - 2H

Best Crush - Possibly Maul

Best Overall - Spear (2nd in speed, best Stab attack, mid-slash attack and near-best crush attack)

Yo. :)

Lvl 37, soloing - up to floor 16 so far i think, over 1k tokens ;)

Did you go into the boss room with plenty of food? My brother and I stash away all the Salve Eels we find on the tables, and I fish more up if necessary (but rarely). If that's still not enough, have you tried Beasts of Burdens with additional food? Healing familiars? If your partner isn't doing enough damage, have you tried making potions?

Go ahead and continue posting, Libs. You'll just continue being a worthless poster that most people will disregard.

An intelligent voice of dissent is a lot more worthy than yet another dogpiling twit.

If you disagree with her, then reply to what she says in a rational way, rather than just spewing insults.

Whats the matter know-it-all, found a skill you don't like?

Just remember anybody that disagrees with you is a fool and people that agree with you are voices in the wilderness.

Oh and go back to preaching the beauty of half [wagon] summoning instead of stinking up this place along with mehateeverything.

yeah good overview, i currently have a t10 rapier bound and it does quite well but a crush weapon is useful against warriors in full plate.

maul is slow but probably best crush, wouldn't really reccomend it though

i found battleaxe good against bosses

Well, I had plenty of food, but after the first two deaths, I was just out of everything. I didn't know the eating thing was gonna be a problem if I just ran in without attacking it. That's why I'm asking if there's another way.

Unfortunately there isn't. If you want though, select a single player dungeon for your two player team. That should change the boss room to only have one carcass... however, just remember that the Gluttonous Beast is the first of many, many bosses. Use Gatestones to escape, stock away food, and try not to waste too much figuring out what's going on.

There wouldn't be a problem if I could just get a better team... Or I can just solo. Gonna wait to see what the best ways to get EXP are. My friend is level 40 something, and he said he's basically getting one level per dungeon, so the EXP rates do increase.
