Mike_Ike111
So it's a skill that's leveled with a mini-game, who cares. Apparently quite a lot of us care. It's not a skill leveled with a mini-game. That would be Thieving leveled by Pyramid Plunder. There is no other way to level Dungeoneering other than playing the mini-game. It doesn't even feel like a skill. When Slayer came out, it felt like a skill. Farming felt like an entire skill. Construction: well how else were we going to be able to make a house for our own. Runecrafting is a skill. Hunter even is a skill even if it's a bad one. Summoning is a skill, and even a large part of combat. Dungeoneering however: mini-game.
Soma2035
Sorry if this has been answered already, but I'm still confused about how resetting prestige is good. Why would you want to complete all the previous floors if you are not stuck on your highest floor? I thought I would test out the reset button at floor 8, just to see what it would do, and boy was it a big mistake; after I reset I started getting junk prestige exp. Now I'm trying to powertrain through all the previous floors at complexity 1 just to get decent prestige exp again. So i'm not sure why you would want to do the previous floors again if you aren't stuck, seeing how previous floors offer less xp than your highest floor. And even if you are stuck on your highest floor, will the time spent having to do *all* the previous floors all over again be worth it? The most obvious reason is if you're playing with friends. Let's say you have access to 1 through 9, and have completed 1 through 8. Your friend has access to 1 through 6 and has only completed 1 through 3. If you play with him, you will use a 0 prestige score for dungeons 4, 5, and 6. If you both reset, you will use your 8 prestige score for all 6 dungeons. He will use his 3 prestige score for the first 3, and his score will rise for the next 3. By then, hopefully he can continue to 7, 8, and 9.... and you can move on. In other words, if you plan on replaying a LOT of dungeons (either because there's no new dungeons to play, or you want to play with a lower leveled friend), reset. Otherwise, leave that button alone. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!
NukeMarine
My own observations: - I use artisan potion to heighten my smithing skill, allowing me to make better armour. So far, I haven't needed it, but I hope this kind of adaptation will be needed in the largest, most difficult levels?- I try to make a healer (blue charm, 2 blue crabs), because they increase EVERY food you eat with 90 LP, which has proven invaluable to me. Also, when I can make another, I make scrolls, and they heal similarly (but less) to unicorns. - magic is the most helpful skill in my opinion. Not because of the combat spells, but because of: humidify for filling of vials, and indeed the gate stone which will become invaluable on larger floors for sure! -Haven't had to worry about boosting my levels yet, but I can see that can come into play. -Skinweavers are going to be a big thing to summon.-I'm still not using magic to it's full potential here. Mainly I'm not used to having access to all three spell books at once. Still, the idea of curses, poisons, and ice barrage (or binding spells) coupled with Lunar assist spells is cool. Noobzy
Healing familiars are generally ineffectiveI don't agree.. even the mushrooms and potatoes become decent healers in between fights with one of these (I have the lvl 89 -adept skinweaver- with me if possible) by your side. And guess what, the healers even fight which always help a little... "He really calls himself Noobz?" [hide=STATS][/hide]
Bloodstain
7) Boss fights aren't straight-forward, be ready for the gimmicks, and try to catch on quickly. Once you figure it out, make sure your team knows too - you don't benefit if your team mates die and suffer huge XP penalties, it will just slow you down later when they can't venture as deep. I had an alter in one of my dungeons. This is still good advice though. I will confirm the occasional prayer altars. However, they look nothing like any prayer altars you have seen before and it's easy to miss them. zotto
I'm only level 6 dungeoneering, so I am only giving my first impression and opinion. I tried the automatic joining of a party first, but that wasn't a success. My fellow dungeoneer just stood there. Luckily my levels were vastly superior, so i could easily complete the level. Very steep learning curve in the sense that all items and resources are new. It will take a while before I figure out exactly what is what, and what is best. But that is fine, that is part of enjoying a game. The second day a friend came to my world and we did 2 levels together. That was actually really enjoyable. I actually had the feeling I was playing a game! Instead of grinding! The only thing to compare it with is doing GWD with friends, but even that is pretty monotonous compared to doing a level of dung together. Therefore I have a good first impression. Everything looks good, the is fun to play together with a friend, and I actually had to use my brain once in a while.

Yes, however sometimes it's double your max level, so in other words you can only use each alter once (or twice) from 0 prayer depending on which one you stumble upon. Grimy_Bunyip
2. What's the best thing to skill in each dungeon: Thus far it's been leveling runecrafting (buy lots of rune, craft highest level) max xp/hour doing this is 31k, so i recommend not doing this unless you really love afk xp. I was maging, in full soulbell gear with 130 water surges, we had a tank in a mix of Zephyrium -> Gorgonite gear and we had a ranger with corpsethorn shortbow, argonite arrows and full gallimystix gear. I had 86 mage, our tank had ~90 melees and our ranger had 79 range. We all took full inventories of Salve Eel Potatoes* (Heal 230) with summons** which could hold 22 slots, all filled with Salve Eel Potatoes aswell. I died 4 times, and both my compadrés died 3 times. At the end, me and the ranger were dropping our food for the tank, I died twice really early because he hits like a truck (400+) on my mage gear. And at the end it was the ranger kiting, with me and the warrior hitting the boss as much as we could, with retribution prayer on. The boss room was only 4 rooms from the starting area so it was fast to return. We defeated him with no food left, and that's 143 pieces of food which heal for 230. *Protip. Farm the [bleep] out of cave potatoes and drop any food you collect back at the starting area. At the end you can make blue crab potatoes (Requires 83 cooking) which heal for 250 and blue potato salve eels which heal for 230 before you go into the boss room.**Summons last for an hour, if you get the materials for a worldbearer pouch (Green charm + Bovistrangler Logs OR Green Charm + Spinoleather torn bag in my case) make it as early as you can. At the very very start of the dungeon, you should get 5-15 cosmic runes, law runes, earth runes and air runes crafted so you can make a gatestones. This way, you can take EVERYTHING that drops, when you and your familiar are full, gatestone down, home teleport (In the dungeon, Home Teleport takes you back to the starting area), drop everything, gatestone teleport. This allows you as much money as you can get for armour and gear and you can pretty much make mincemeat of the bosses. In this case it was very required. Click my signature for my blog! SirHartlar
I've started getting into soloing this, but is it worth buying as much rune essence as possible at the end and getting free xp by reselling runes? Noobzy
to ca2theone: why not use your gatestones also just outside the boss room? no need for walking through 4 rooms if you die there. Also, which summon lasts an hour? The knowledge base is not correct in my opinion. It says my favourite summon, adept skinweaver, will last for 10 mins, where in fact my summon interface tells me it will last for 30 odd minutes. Or are there any factors that will make your summon last longer, compared to the times in the knowledge base tables? "He really calls himself Noobz?" Returned3
There's usually little to no need to go to all the trouble farming/fishing/mining the highest tier you can in order to kill the boss if you're soloing. Simply kill all the monsters you encounter while opening all bonus rooms, and the food they drop is more than enough. Then again, soloing gives really crappy item spawns/rewards. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down!
