Smuggling Dungeoneering Items

I'm sure we are all already familiar with the many bugs and glitches associated with the new skill Dungeoneering, the most notorious being the exp glitch resulting the the rollback..

Anyway, I was looking at the various items in Daemonheim and wondered what would happen if any got out (smuggled). Lo and behold, a few hours later I discover that someone has dropped some argonite and fractite arrows in the party room chest. Later someone showed me an argonite arrow in a trade at the GE. I also found a picture (posted here on Tip.it (not mine)) of someone wearing various Dungeoneering armors in the Daemonheim lobby area.

So what if some of the bigger stuff gets out? :ohnoes:

Any thoughts?

Btw, I remember that when Stealing Creation first came out, the sacred clay arrows were listed in the GE and I put offers to buy but none ever sold. They even changed in price until they were removed. Also, it's interesting to note that the argonite arrow in the trade has a value of 320 gp. However after the drop party some people claimed that they bought the arrows from other players and that they simple disappeared from their inventories after the trades were completed. So I'm not sure how stable these smuggled items are.[/hide]

UPDATE:

I found an even larger drop of dungeoneering items in the party room. This time there were many armors and weapons. Interestingly there were also duplicates of several runes that apparently are not stackable (airs, bloods, and deaths in the chest). I managed to get some Novite arrows. Here are some of their properties:

-Tradable

-Bankable

-If you log out they do NOT disappear (from either bank or inventory

-NOT equipable

-If you drop on the ground they disappear

-Bindable

-Once bound they become untradable, unbankable, and undroppable (must be destroyed)

Crazy arrow version:

My conclusion is that although these items can get out, they do not seem to pose a threat since they cannot be used (equipped). Since I did not get any weapons or armor, I cannot confirm whether or not they are usable. However, a black appears to have formed for these items and some players are reportedly paying a lot of money for them.

UPDATE #2

I purchased a Katagon chainbody from another player who got it in the party room. It has the same properties as the arrows. But it does have a significant trade value. These items are appearing more and more frequently now in drop parties. I believe the secret of getting them is out now. Although they cannot be used in combat, they represent quite a bit of money if someone was able to smuggle out a full inventory of it (I hear the street prices are quite high as well). I fear that they will be used to scam noobs and potentially get them in trouble for possessing this contraband. By now Jagex must be aware of what is going on. As such I am discarding my dungeoneering items and submitting my bug report. This will be my last update to this post but feel free to discuss this issue.

UPDATE #3

(Sorry I lied about not updating)

These items are alchable for the values shown!!! I foresee possible abuse of this bug to quickly make a bunch of money, assuming that the bug can be reproduced quickly. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! :shame: I am positive that Jagex will act quickly to stop this and possible take action against players who abuse this bug.

Wow...

What if someone manages to smuggle Tier 11 equipment? That would be potentially disastrous! :ohnoes:

Apparently the glitch is easy to do, I know how to. Fortunately, not many people know about just, just like how Stealing Creation was.

Yet again, those weapons.. *shivers at Tier 11*

If more than one person knows, it isn't a secret. And this will be a really big problem.

99 dungeoneering achieved, thanks to everyone that celebrated with me!

I'm sure they made it like SC where if you log out with the item it gets deleted so you can't take it to pvp.

Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x.

PvP drops: 359 Brawling Gloves, 11 Vesta's Longswords, 41+ Zaros/Ancient Statues

9 Dragon Full Helms, 3 Dragonfire Shields on the old PvP loot system

Brawler guide is being finished!

im sure somone got the class 5 dagger out of sc and in to a pvp world though

Yeah it happened before you couldn't log out with them, so he was able to hop and take it everywhere. After they did that it didn't happen again though it might - I saw a video where someone got a lent item into BH (and this was way after the original BH update)

I doubt it though and it will take some really complicated stuff to do that, and the people that find that sort of stuff are a small group of the best buggers that don't leak anything.

If you stand around the rares section of W2 for long enough, you'd sometimes see dungeoneering items being bought/sold. Something's wrong with this game. Saw a "Selling R.A.R.E Katagon arrows for Crown!!!" offer earlier. This game is getting dumber. Or at least; the players are.

wondering if they fix this now in this update, does current smuggled items become collectible rares in market

I believe that Jagex would probably attempt to remove any of the items that are present outside of Dungeoneering rather than let this occur.

I guess things aren't so terrible without them being able to be equipped, but the alching issue is still quite a bad one. Of-course, there's other implications such as quick junk for people real-world trading or transferring gold / items. This topic unfortunately will bring light to the issues for those not so positive, but I do hope it'll bring the issue to light with Jagex too. :)
