10-Aug-10 A Void Dance

What are you supposed to do in the room with the workers? I have the metal strip but I can't do anything with it

Get another pocket tool and use it on the workbench that has a broken hook on it then combine the two.

Who told the bartender the truth? I told him the lie but I'm curious as to what he has to say if you tell him the truth. Same thing with the void leech, who killed him? I set it free, but I wonder what happens if you kill it.

I told him the truth and he didn't even care

Where's the next bush with tracks after the rune shop? Every possible bush reveals nothing of any interest.

Really good quest and a nice story line. Can't wait for the next part of this series! Props to Jagex for this, in my opinion one of the best quests since WGS

"Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."

I reckon this quest is more important than the rewards suggest. Over the course of the quest, you make 3 decisions:

[hide]1. Whether to tell the truth or lie to the Rusty Anchor barman.

2. Whether to kill the doorkeeper or just knock him out and tie him up and shove him in a box.

3. Whether to put the pest down or set it free. [/hide]

I think those decisions will make a big impact for the rest of the series.

EDIT: Oh, and I really liked this quest. The whole series has a genuine feel about it.

I'm pretty sure Jagex has said that player's decisions won't make more difference than minor dialog changes, because it would be too difficult to design sequels for multi-pathed quests. That's why Lucien gets the Staff of Armadyl and Hazeel is resurrected regardless of player's choice.

They did, but I think they might have changed their approach this time. If you look at the quest journal after you complete it, it very explicitly doesn't cross out the parts where you make a choice, as if to make it clear that these events are still important even after you've completed the quest. To compare, the Shield of Arrav does cross out your decision to join either the Black Arm or the Phoenix gang.

I hope you will actually get to go to the pest's home plane next time and not just have us stop the black knights and have everything go back to normal.

So many questions.

Why does the queen want to invade gilenor?

Why can they only make their portals on an island and not on the mainland?

From your conversation with the void pest you find that he isn't under control of a hive mind and that he actually has self awarness, so does that mean that there could be pests who would resist the queens invasion?

Will we ever get that void sword??? :ohnoes:

edit: the pest also says that we should go save the hive of falador.

Jagex could have just said to go save our people or something. since the pest is able to distinguish between "hives" as he puts it, could it mean that there are more then one hive and queen on his home plane?

[spoiler=click you know you wanna]
Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

I really liked this quest and we finally get a long one. I don't remember the last time we had a quest this long.

The storyline is pretty good too, I want to know who this queen is.

Jagex said they wouldn't do quests where choices altered the course of the story. The way Hazeel Cult did or Temple of Ikov did, this saves them doing fixes like the message ppl got u stopped lucien in ikov to allow story to continue.

These choices could however effect our quest.

In the final quest cahcnes are we have a battle with whoever masterminded this scheme and the choices could easily mean we have extra allies to fight beside us or not. Or could open up extra rewards, for example the workers could give u something for not murdering them. The pests might help you if you set him free.

etc.

You can ask Korasi for it early in the quest (during the Port Sarim section), it contains information about the origins and beliefs of the Void Knights. I don't know if you cang et it after the quest though.

Haha, but it's different, that quest was long because it was one huge puzzle.

This one had a really interesting storyline, puzzle, combat and character development.
