Sir_Kurity
Are you trying to prove a point? Because i honestly can't see it... I know. Just come back in a few years. Great arguments there... Newsflash, i didn't see it because your post made no sense. Your quoted post was only borderline relevant to the topic at hand, and two of the 3 points completely opposed your point of view. Not to mention there were no actual arguments in the quote, only a few sweeping statements. ------------------------------------------------------------ I'm just wondering, because i have to ask. What exactly are you trying to prove here? Is it that all runescape players don't play for "fun"? Is it that you are somehow superior because you do play for "fun", or are you just trolling for the sake of it? O.O
Zygimantas
I hate dungeoneering. So in other words, hell no. and yet you have level 80. So either you don't hate it that much, hate it more now then before, or grinded it for the sake of rewards while not having fun.and in return got a chaotic weapon thats fun to use for the rest of his time on rs  Yes, but thats still:Multiple hours of forcing yourself to play a game vs. Multiple hours of enjoying a gameI'd pick the 2nd one.Why have fun to enjoy the game later, when in a proper game you should be able to enjoy the game now and later. 99 Hunter - November 1st, 200899 Cooking -July 22nd, 200999 Firemaking - July 29th, 201099 Fletching - December 30th, 2010

Ever heard the term "hunger is the best spice"? As much as we would like to be always having fun, thats simply not always the case, and even seemingly fun things like PVP, castle wars, etc, get boring when you do it too much, despite being great fun when you first start. Its often the anticipation of fun which makes the actual fun much more fun, if you catch my drift. :shades: Not to mention that those hours of "forcing" yourself to do something (and its really not that bad half the time, you can often entertain yourself by talking or through other methods), make the rest of your game time, as he said, much more fun. Its like grinding magic through high alchemy. I could rush straight into castle wars and start fire blasting people, which is quite fun, or i could do a little magic training, and instead ice barrage people (very fun :)) I mean comon, even your sig says you have 99 firemaking. You can't have honestly had that much "fun" on the way to 99 firemaking, its one of the more stale skills in this game. But the sense of achievement may or may not have been worth it (i donno, ive never done it myself and probably never will) O.O

Jehosaphat
I dungeoneer for both fun and experience - if I end up on a team of people who don't talk about anything besides where Key Door Y is, I'll usually end up either getting bored and leaving or blathering on until one of them talks and/or kicks me. Regardless, I usually have some pretty fun dungeons, even with people from w117. (As a matter of fact, there's a guy on my friendslist now from w117 who I help with rushing through early floors.) Sir_Kurity
I understand what you mean. But wouldn't you rather do something that allows you to enjoy the journey and the reward? Most definately. Which is why i rarely train skills like mining or runecrafting. And instead pick skills that i can typically pay little attention to while i talk to friends, watch TV or browse forums. (I did go for 85 mining once, but then i decided my sanity was worth more...) O.O

(I did go for 85 mining once, but then i decided my sanity was worth more...)It's not that hard to talk while runecrafting (resting, while you craft the rune). And I can talk while mining anything not named iron. As for dungeoneering, I used to team with friends a lot, but my connection made me a bad teammate so I was forced to solo. Still pretty fun though. Trey
I think the skill can be very fun but you have to play with the right people. I like to hop into a skype chat with a few buddies and my cousin while we all dung. I had more fun skype dunging with my cousin when the skill came out, than I've had in 3 years. I will say that the skill is unbearable when you dung with w117 people.

Which could mean he hates it because of doing it so much, which makes sense ( as you said, everything gets boring). But if he hated it for the most part of him training it... Idk, I just would not do that. Its a game after all, there are always other things you can do in rs or other games you can play to have fun. People can play the game how they want, I just would not grind a skill if I disliked it that much. But, Runescape does give you the flexibility to play how you want and do what you want. 99 Hunter - November 1st, 200899 Cooking -July 22nd, 200999 Firemaking - July 29th, 201099 Fletching - December 30th, 2010
Viv
1-82 - fun lol i barely reember and i got my rapier learning the skill and with friends whole time. then i took a break for other skills and got my last 2 99s besides dging 82-89 - these lvls were ok still had my good friend playing it and enjoyed it but felt like it was getting harder to lvl 89-90- pure hell complete randomers my friend got lvl 99 :S 90-97 found a semi perm team and dungeoned with them alot and even talked on vent very fun :) 97-99 ughhhhhhhh lol i just wanted 99 and used tokens for the lvl 769k of em..... 99-101 just did 1-3 dgs with my friend + randomers every nite 101-102 :) occult floors are fun and new been doing some 3:3 larges with my best rs friends. on abandoned and doing occults 5;5 large.... when i join a w53 or a dge team without my usually dg friend i sometimes get bored as i feel like im just killing stuff dont really have a part in the communication and stuff but its good cuz the floors are generally fast... sometimes people are bossy or annoying in 117 its pretty fast to fin a team for lower than 39 and hard for 39+ but eh they usually dont work out as well they require more leadership /babysitting more likely to have a ragequitter on your team. but sometimes the dungeoneering clan dont have the floor your doing or harder to find a team and prob in 2 weeks it will be way harder to find teams in those worlds.... anyway i like doing 30 min floors but im also ok with relaxed 40-55 min floors a horror abandoned team would be 70mins+ for occult i think 40 mins or 50-70 mins .. i guess a horror occult team would be like 1hr 40mins or more once everyone learns the new bosses and puzzles the floors will go waaaaaaaaaaay smoother lately ive been dungeoneing for eagle eye shield and chaotic crossbow i barely notice the exp piling on.... I LIKE RUSHING I DONT LIKE RUSHING AT THE COST OF MY OWN SURVIVAL so if im fishing and cooking for 5 secs dont complain tbh

Silvertaler
Actually I only train it when I feel like hanging out with a friend of mine, which actually makes dungeons worth the time. Otherwise, I don't train it. So yeah, I guess I play for the fun of it.
jimmy_jim
When I tried dungeoneering I enjoyed it immensely at first, after I got to about level 22 I began to find it boring, all the puzzles, bosses and monsters were the same thing over and over again. I gave up at level 24 as I really don't enjoy repetition (which is what a lot of RuneScape is I guess :P) RIP Michaelangelopolousu can control my tip it account, but youll never control how fine i am!This is by FAR my favorite song: I love N_odie and would never edit his posts! Sly_Wizard
I usually play in W117 and quit if it's not a rush. I hate people like you. I just wanted to say that. And I hate people who don't rush =/ It's a waste of time that I can avoid by quitting Then stop joining groups who aren't advertising rushes? Also, don't be surprised if you find yourself on some kind of "Do not dung with" list.

Jeda45
I only dungeoneer for fun; hence my low level (45, my second-lowest level). I've never understood why people would pay money to play a game they don't have fun playing. If you jump into a river in Paris, you're insane. If you jump into a river in Egypt, you're in denial. Bladewing
In response to the defamation of those who dislike dungeoneering but train(ed) it anyway: I enjoy combat, and a chaotic weapon will help me with that. I didn't really enjoy MA but I got 300 rank there. I don't enjoy getting tokens and killing cyclopes, but I got a rune defender. I know some people dislike the fight caves (I don't personally, this is anecdotal), yet they get their fire capes because it'll help em. I know some people hate barbarian assault (I don't personally), yet they get their fighter torso. Some people hate quests, yet they do recipe for disaster. stormveritas
Dungeoneering is fun to play but sucks to level. It is simply far too tedious, and requires absolute focus. The rewards are now transferrable (with chaotics) but not necessary. Non combat skills offer you little to nothing. Since most time is spent rushing, skills like farming, herblore, smithing, mining, woodcutting, and hunting are not used (although they could be). Level doors are based solely on YOUR existing levels, so you never need to level up to open more doors (which is incredibly dumb). Dungeoneering is the skill to train when you're done with all the other skills. Once you have chaotic weapons and any buyables you really want, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to dungeoneer. I understand the same can be said for most skills, however the level 120 implies a higher priority for this skill. I'd still give the skill an 8/10; it is far more "good" than "bad".
