I am curious what the tip.it community uses on other sites and how they can contribute to expand tip.its competition with those other sites.

Personally,I use RS Wiki frequently for its very informational bestiary and I feel that tip.it's bestiary is a little on the light side and would like to see much more expantion.

I want tip.it to look into expanding its monster guide with such things as drop rate % of charms and other significant drops such as d picks, handcannon's, d claws ect... (tested over many kills of course) and monster weakness's and fighting styles.

But what do you think?

Post why you use other sites, and how tip.it could compete with it.

But also discuss how tip.it could set up new content, if you think tip.it should have a better bestiary discuss how adding drop rate %'s would work or not work

or if tip.it should make a charm dropper's guide based on color and charm drop rate of different monsters

[hide=Idea's fo expanding tip.it]

--> Adopting and refining good AOW Guides as "official" (or "unofficial") tip.it guides, and providing links some where on the main page...

Personally this is something I've always wanted to see inplemented

--> Overhaul many guides includeing quests, monsterhunting, minigames and others

I thionk to compete with that, we should do some sort of thing letting forum users taskes to writing certain parts of the site with the crew implementing them. At the moment the crew also do a large chunk of the research which takes up a lot of time. We have so many great guides in the AOW that would really help on the mainsite for those who don't want to view the forums.

Letting the community write certain parts and haveing the crew go over them could cut down on alot of stress and time. Great idea.

--> A more informative bestiary with drop tables percentages and maybe fighting style/weakness (info provided by a big community post), Also a guide that lists some of the best monsters to get a certain color charm/ type of herbs from

I would really like to see an addition of gp/xp on the current skill calculators.

--> gp/xp additions on tip.it calculators is a really good idea and could be implemented easily.

Shouldn't this be in questionaries? D:

I use other fansites every once in a very blue moon. I haven't really had a need to use any besides Tip.it forums (the only features that I use on the main site are the calculators, planners, and equipment builder).

EDIT: Some of the MHing blogs on Zybez are very much worth looking at.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Salmoneus has the BEST quest guides I've ever used, at least up 'til about a year ago, from which time I haven't had any difficult quests to do. They are far too slow to release guides though. Their forums are also rather full off noobs.

I use RSC/Zybez occasionally due to the fact of the clan discussion is more active than here, plus it involves more clans so it's nice to read up on how other clans are doing.

A plus/minus rep system may seem dumb and cause drama/ false representation of a person but I think most kids enjoy that, so I think tip.it should probably include that >.>

Also I thought Tip.it was working on making a more sophisticated Runehead system and that would attract more people as well if it ever gets released lol. Well anything new and really useful or cool can grab more traffic to tip.it so if thats what they wanted then I'd suggest to think big and come up with something no other fansites have, while still trying to keep up with the other features that other main fansites have.

But I can't complain, they finally got better forums, allowed us to change names, and added a community teamspeak (Even though no one uses it :l)

i like rs wiki because if i just want information on just one item/character/place/monster, say, raw beast meat, i can type it in and it'll bring up ONLY the relevant information on raw beast might. on tip.it it can be a bit more of a hassle finding snippets of information in another guide

I use rswiki a ton, but I don't actively edit it (I will change ridiculous bad info, though).

I'll occasionally stumble on one of the other sites listed through a search engine, and I was active on zybez years ago, but nothing else really.

I only use Tip.It, though I've used the quest guides on Sal's once or twice when I was completely stuck. I find the pictures easy to understand :P

u can control my tip it account, but youll never control how fine i am!

This is by FAR my favorite song:

I love N_odie and would never edit his posts! I love Rainy_Day too <3 And also Cowman_133. <33 Oh, and Laikrob is a going to hunt me down and kill me like a pest kangaroo if I reveal how awesome she is. I owe tripsis skittles. DarkDude feels like he's missing out. This is my siggy! - n_odie Rainy_Day MINE! - n_odie Rainy_Day And meol shouldn't feel left out. Oh, and Y_Guy is a noob awesome

Basically only Tip.it. Back when I was playing RuneScape more often, I would occasionally use a quest guide from another site, but that's it.

And we're always open to suggestion to help improve Tip.it in any way :)

I only use Tip.it and RS Wiki. I mainly use RuneScript though, but that uses the Tip.it databases.

Mainly Tip.it. But I do post on RSC mainly because of the activity in the clan community. Only have about 300 posts though, most of it from Recruitment.

I use Runescoop for its forums and RSWiki for its item pictures. I genuinely don't like the Wiki for anything else, the fact that anyone can edit it isn't bad, but the fact that it's extremely sloppy as a result is.

Tip.It is my main reference site pretty much just because I know where everything is. I'm sure any other fansite will have the same kind of information in say, it's treasure trail section, but I don't want to learn a new fansite when I already know where everything is here.

The main site is lacking in certain areas, and a huge percentage of it is outdated, but that's what the forums are for. The Fight Cave guide in the AOW section is amazing, for example, while the one on the main site is basically an outline.

Tip.It, RuneHQ and RS Wiki. I find that RuneHQ's quest guides are much better than Tip.Its. I don't like reading a wall of text while I'm doing quests. Pictures and small relevant text is much easier to use, in my opinion.

I use RuneWiki for the comprehensive search option, and because the pages are uniform. I do not use their community anything, however.

Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig!

I personally use the Wiki from time to time, but I'm interested in what can be done to further improve the site.

One thing the Wiki has that Tip.It can't claim is a much lesser degree of responsibility for accuracy. When the Wiki has bad information, it's understandable. But if Tip.It has bad information, it's not. The Wiki also is open to everyone, meaning the entire world is essentially the crew. Just some things to keep in mind.

I also use the runescape wiki quite often.

The price graphs for items are more intuitive to use, their market watch is impeccable and what I like THE MOST by comparison is the list of drop rates for items on monsters. The inclusion of everything relevant to each and every thing I look up is very nice, it allows for a higher intake of information and better understanding.

That said, I do enjoy tip.it's level tables and guides over the competition

"In order to lead, you must learn how to carry your followers upon your shoulders"

"A man is not only defined by his abilities, but also by those of the men with which he surrounds himself"

"The meek fight for skill and fame, the strong fight for power with the skill and fame they already have"

"There is no good without sacrifice and no sacrifice without mercy"

I don't really use tip.it for anything but the forums lol. I'm not too inclined to use guides for anything but quests, and RS wiki can't be beat on speed and accuracy for those, although RHQ does a good job as well. I think both of their quest guides are more accurate.

As for monster hunting guides and stuff, I've found that official fansite guides tend to be pretty bad haha. For good information you need forums (tif is good for that, although if Zarfot has made a guide on it you'll be wanting to head to the RSOF) or just talk to the people who do it - DGE or OTG irc.

I use RS Wiki when i need in-depth information on an item, or something like that. Or if i simply just need a second source for something.

Due to the fact that a lot of quest guides on tip.it are out of date, i tend to go to RuneHQ for quest guides from time to time. Not often though, since i don't exactly need in-depth explanatory quest guides.

Also i think tip.it could improve their official minigame/monster hunting guides a bit. Like when ever the game is updated to the point where it provides an extra method or item to the activity, i think they should actually rework the optimal equipment sections to include the new item or what ever it is. Instead of just adding a small footnote at the bottom the the guide. An example is the FoG guide. There's nothing in there including strategies for curses, chaotic weapons, or powerful spec weapons like godswords or claws. That being said, even the given armor setups are sub par at best.

Hexiled Razz. Player since March 8th, 2005.

I don't play Runescape anymore and when I do log on, there's nothing I need a guide for. Therefore only tip.it, for the forums.

I used Zybez once. Got banned.

runetips for the community.

runehq wiki for quest guides and item info.

I mainly use Tip.it for the calculators, treasure trail guides and forums. Every other thing I go to RuneWiki for help as it's really alot easier and has more depth to it. Quest guides on RuneWiki also update really fast.

Break the Walls down!

Like many others, I use wiki for a quick search. Hard to beat it for random info.

I used to use runehq for quest guides. I preferred them over tip.it's, however I haven't done any quests in around a year so can't really comment on that anymore.

RuneWiki is the only other site I use, it cant really be beaten when searching for data. Rest is all on tipit so I don't need to go elsewhere.
