06-Oct-2010 - The Void Stares Back

When compared to ZS this is good substitute for a cheaper corp weapon (assuming it doesnt do half dmg). Combined with a rune defender this weapon has only 5 less stab bonus.

This is a pretty decent 1-handed weapon and is a decent stab weapon for people who want to slay metals and do not have a chaotic weapon.

Has anyone else noticed that Jagex tends to give certain characters a personality that's really kinda detailed, then just have them 'killed' in a GM quest? I mean, really? I kinda liked Kurasi, Hazelmere, and even Nomad. (Granted, the "go die in a hole" bit from Nomad was a bit offsetting, but still....) <_<

I killed Jessika.

[hide]I don't get why we couldn't have killed grayzag, or whoever he is. Sure the queen still would have been summoned but she is summoned either way....[/hide]

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

[hide]As I recall, he said they'd both die if you did that? I don't know how that works, but eh. [/hide]

Do either of them really die? I chose to save Jessika, but during the fight Kurasi was sitting there leaning against a pillar. I talked to her to get my sword back, and she said that she'd be OK.

Probably a bug. But I don't think it matters either way, as I heard neither of them show up ingame after that anyway.

I'm kind of getting mad that so many of the NPCs end up dying too. It's starting to feel gimmicky and lame. I actually really liked Korasi and Jessika and I didn't want to choose either of them. I wish the third option had actually been an option (along with the other two); I think that would have actually had more of an emotional impact and would have made the player think more about what they were choosing (i.e. sacrifice a friend while trying to divert a disaster, or go ahead and be the direct catalyst for a disaster so you can save both friends). Missed chance to have a bigger moral dilemma. Bah.

Plus, I'm also going to miss how subtexty those two were together. Sigh.

Can someone post a picture of a full void set being worn with the Elite upgrades? I'm curious to see how that hideous top melds with the rest of the ensemble.

Can't get a picture atm, but it looks a) better than it does with the regular void bottoms and b) worse than the regular void set.

honestly, once you see the full set together, the "hideous top" is basically a slightly modified void knights top, with a voids seal on, both recolored.

Anwyays..here you go. Elite voids, executioner (black): picture2vw.png

not such a good pic, but it's all I have of full Elite voids, guardian (white): whiteelitevoids.png

@Tim, you can change the color of the robe bottoms. Just use them on Commodore Tyr, and he'll offer to upgrade them for the cost of 100 Commendation points. However, he gives you no option to pick the color, and gives you the robe that matches your top. In other words, its not so much as "changing the color of the robe bottoms" as much as "changing the color of the set".

EDIT: I honestly don't remember how to change the color of the set, but I think I heard money (100k?) was involved? If it does't cost any Commendation points, I'd be happy to change to all three kinds of Elite void knight armor for better quality pics (they are all identical except for looks).

Oh yeah. I'm going to try changing mine to white and see how I like the look. Atm though, it's very late for me, and I'm so tired....I'll do it tomorrow.

I did use it extensively at clan wars today, both with and without pots, against all sorts of level and setups...and one thing that became very clear to me, was that Elite void knight gear seemed to make me exceptionally accurate. I ripped through lvl 138s with bandos and DFS as if they had rune, and I was quite surprised really, as I always hit at least a few 0s. What really startled me was, this was a fairly consistent effect, player after player. I even tested it against barrows gloves, and the drop in accuracy was very visible in longer fights. I know this is exactly what voids set effect is supposed to do, but I was surprised at how...effective it was, compared to my normal experience with voids.

Long story short: does anyone else think that Elite void knight set provides a higher set effect boost than regular voids?

Oh yuck, I thought they'd change the color of that stupid undershirt. Who thought that bluish gray color would match the rest of the set?

Looks green-y blue on my graphics mode. And it sucks. If they'd change it to black or white or something (Preferably black, as I think that'd look good with my Guardian torso), I'd be really happy.

The conquest game is actually really easy, the AI of the pests isn't all that great and you have regenerate so you can wall most of them with your champion. Just watch out for the Ravagers (I think it was), they're the only threats to your team in my opinion.

^ I just kept regenerating my champion and using him to pwn everyone, as all of the other troops got ripped to pieces by the void pests :S

Still haven't figured it out how to kill the queen lol :(
