I have a test on Thursday and Friday + other stuff.

At least I won't waste all day waiting for an update that was never supposed to come.

How can you be disappointed in something which you had no idea was happening? Jagex never said an update was coming today, so now that one isn't coming today, they get blasted? I do not get this community sometimes.

Is it really that unreasonable to think that updates usually come tuesday? or that we get a game content update at least every 2 weeks?

It usually happens, so what's wrong with getting used to it.

 

 

Just because some updates are on Tuesdays does not mean this one was. It just seems strange to me that you can be disappointed that something not confirmed for today didn't happen today. They have not said it would be out today, so it didn't come out today. I can't see the problem.

How is it crappy, when an update that makes huge modifications to the world map (Jade Vine maze in particular) can potentially have game-breaking bugs if released too early?

 

But that's the thing, those are crappy low level updates lol. ESPECIALLY the world map. Only low levels use that...

Having unrealistic expectations is quite a natural human condition, and the things people are expecting from Jagex aren't quite that unrealistic either.

If we go by the 'two week' rule, and that the last update (BOAESU) was two weeks ago Tuesday, logic would lead us to believe today was the last date they could have released a new update and still be sticking to their rulebook.

The inherent risk of optimism is disappointment; if you have an expectation JaGeX will update and they don't then you should also be prepared to deal with being let down. I'm not disagreeing with you, and I was hoping there'd be an update today too (Hasn't been a lasting game update since warped floors and before that the void quest :shame: ), and there's nothing wrong with expectations but they carry risks.

Yeap, Agreed. I think disappointment is a cheap price to pay for optimism though :P

Because it wasn't delayed because of bugs, it was delayed "because they wanted to make some other minor modifications with the update that weren't ready".

 

So they delay last week's update for a whole week to release it alongside this week's update, and now apparently THIS week's update is being delayed for whatever reason.

 

I die a little each time a Jmod *has* to post on RSOF that there will be no update. :rolleyes: I'm looking forward to updates, but I'm not complaining when one doesn't happen every week.

 

Well excuse me if we'd all like to know weather or not it's safe to delve into an hour long large dungeon without seeing the infamous "UPDATE IN 10 MINUTES".

I personally think they should stop tying old content upgrades and fixes with newly released content. Once they become entwined and when one gets delayed, they both get delayed.

If there is no update tomorrow, then I have to say shame on you Jagex.

Anyway, doesn't effect me. I hate hunter anyway.

You'd have thought they'd make a bigger song and dance over the HP update. Maybe not a whole one of the three major updates per month, but they'd mention it in the BTS somehow.

perhaps, but IIRC, there was no specific mention of the original hitsplats / bar change, and there's been heavy cosmetic changes that have gone officially unannounced before. examples escape me, but i know theres been some.

Yeah, they mentioned that bank interface update in the BTS, and that was basically nothing. Hitsplats would be a bigger deal than that for sure.

My enjoyment of RuneScape has NEVER hinged on whether an update is on time or not. Patience is a virtue my friends ;-)

One thing I've learned my lesson with Jagex about is: Never buy members for the updates that are being released, only buy it for the updates that are already released.

If it was, why was this posted on general DISCUSSION? No discussion value about giving us that information, really, and as i said, fightcaves aren't affected by updates anymore, so only dungeoneering really suffers, but not alot(you don't actually lose anything).

Hard to update when you're hungover. ;)
