Can I join the clan? My stats:

Fluid_Totle.png

I don't have a hood yet because Jagex hates me. I got most of the levels off 117 and dging with friends when nobody knew anything about dg so I'm kind off clueless relative to the more epic guys in this cc.

I somehow end up with Berserker and battle mage on most of the floors I go in. I just kill stuff is all, which is what a DPS is supposed to do, so I don't see it all that special.

yes you can join, anybody can.

some things to note:

first and most important, make sure to have at least t7 berserker(only relative to you being 90 dung, this isnt for everybody), and upgrade when you see fit. At 90 dg no token amount until t8->t9 should really make you turn away.

listen to keyers, don't make worldbearers, have the best 2h/plate bind you can get(both gorg in your case)

also get a surge box as soon as you see one.

Gate doors on your own if you see one, let the keyer know immediately. usually most keyers will have already told you to gate it, but dont hesitate in just doing it.

being that you're 75+ con always be prepared to make an altar at home if you are asked to.

always, no matter what, make cosmics/laws/astrals at the start of a floor and buy a toolkit.

have fun, most people are easy to get along with.

E: one last thing, if you have "downtime" (no gds/keys to run to around your gate etc), mine some gorg for blood ragers, they help on bosses a ton.

If you quote me please be sure to note that I'm extremely mad.

When I keyed I still got berserker most of the time. Getting berserker is just a matter of knowing how to pray flash properly

I'm positive i've gotten meat shield at least 95% of my floors, I've never keyed.

Probably 80% of my floors I get berserker unless im with gwyn who cheats just fyi

I don't see it as an achievement or any form of initiative to get both of those, I pray and have a hood.

I get it every single floor as well but that's mainly because I have yet to get a hood.

I'm 75 defence and I dung with maxed players all the time, I'm sure that has a bit to do with it ;P

Just a friendly reminder to everyone:

You should ALWAYS have AT MINIMUM a t5 berserker ring, regardless if you only plan to DG to 80 or 85. t5 is 2665 tokens, which is 26k exp. That's nothing, and even a (imo pathetic) t5 ring will make you far more useful to every team you are on than just a t1. Honestly, everyone should have at least t7 (only 12.8k tokens cumulative) zerker, but I understand that some people are really stingy with tokens in the beginning.

I get that some people are new to DGing and don't really know about the importance of rings, which is why I am posting this. This isn't to criticize anybody, just to remind you (if it applies to you). Your berserker ring level is almost as important as your weapon, really.

Probably one of the least cooperative floors I've ever keyed. Still was sub-30 though.

I was wondering, for keying, what advantages does sagi body have over primal plate? I've been told it's better, but I was wondering for what reasons in particular?

Tanking shades and sort-of tanking mages. You can run through rooms with ranged pray on rather than mage pray, though you'll have to be very particular about when you choose to do that. I keyed with a sagi body for a day and it definitely helped a lot, but I've never keyed with a primal plate, so I can't really say which one is better for the average keyer. In any case, try it out for a couple weeks and see which one helps more. It's important to note that sagi body lowers your melee accuracy.

has a lot more mage def, which could possibly save you prayer points in rooms where you would usually pray mage, and adds bonuses if you have hex, personally i wouldnt bind a sagi body if i dont have a hex, but im sure grimy knows the specifics.

I prefer primal platebody.

mages will still bind you through a sagi body. And that is the worst

Only real advantage of sagi body for keying is tanking shades, and rooms where there are no forgotten mages.

but the latter is already covered by the shadow silk hood.

Primal platebody for keying if u can bind 1 armor piece for keying.

Jimi doesn't always key though, and the sagi body helps him when he's DPSing

It's up to him to decide how often he keys and how often he DPSes.

And how much of his DPS he's willing to trade for Keying ability.

I'm probably getting sagi body + primal legs for 2 bind keying though.

Rooms with shades really eff you up.

I've only ever keyed with plate, but in theory I don't like the idea of keying with a body. There are a lot of enemies that require you to pray magic when they're around like forgotten mages (to avoid being bound) and books (because they rape). It's not a great idea to try to tank either of those regardless of armor. Meanwhile, there are tons of enemies that do melee and ranged damage that you don't normally pray against, and more that you need prayer for without a plate that can be tanked with a plate, like ranging zombies and skeles. And, of course, plate doesn't lower your accuracy.

This all flies out the window if you have a hex and 120 dg, of course.

Primal plate cuz it looks better, duhh!

Nah, just kidding. I'd say it depends on your binds, and what you do. If you don't have a Hexhunter, I don't see any point in binding one, just my opinion.

If you're DPSing, go for a Blood Necklace, and in the mean time, go for Promethium/Primal Gauntlets, imo. You have 3 other people with you, usually, so you shouldn't take too much damage (for long, at least).

If keying, I'd say Primal Plate, because you can only protect 1 combat style (magic), and the plate stops a considerable amount of damage from range and melee both.

Primal rapier or celestial staff over primal gaunts I think. ;)

Was a good time, nonetheless  Regardless of how much it improves your time (and it does), DGing on Skype is just way more fun. Some of my best laughs of the day come from the Skype conversations while DGing.

I heard Jax is a pro keyer

Thanks for that

EDIT : I also just noticed only he survived that dungeon.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Well it should alllow you to tank rooms with shades / demons only as keyer? - And for dpsing I think saggi body is better when meeting necros..

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

i wouldn't recommend sagi body for DPSing without a hex.

A necro/mage may not bind you, but getting hit by a -10 strength/attack spell will put a dampener on your DPS.

sagi body for DPSing is mostly there for the range attack bonus than for anything else IMO.
