Wow, Jedi is an amazing keyer.

He was on a floor that I keyed earlier today and was an amazing teammate. He's a great all around Dger and I'd love to DG with him more in the future.

But in all seriousness guys.

Skill ladder is coming out next update, roughly april 12th.

I'm pumped. Finally, a way to reasonably test a player's ability to skill efficiently.

And, if anybody in RS is efficient, it'd be us.

I say we pwn this ladder, whose with me!

whats with the weird avatars/sigs?

That was an incredible floor considering you needed me for 90% of the skill doors. Looking forward to seeing you break 20:00, shouldn't be long.

I would be. Sadly half the weeks are probably going to be useless skills (like this week, Cooking) that will be stupid to gain XP in for most. It would give an incentive to train those skills that I hate but would love to gain lots of levels in.

As a general thought - this CC is awesome. I have sucky internet, virtually no DG experience outside of w117, but thoroughly enjoy my time here. I'm taking a break for now to get 99 Slayer + Summoning, but will be back soon enough.

we need a memberlist for the skill ladder.

Which is being released on april 18th.

So if you're interested, please post here or PM a relevant person (IE Me, Mc, Cheeesy, or Obtaurian) before said date.

The CC competes in 3 skills per war and submits 5 people to represent them in each war.

So please mention what skills you think you can get high xp/hour rates in.

Yes and I want to key as much as I can.

DG will be my break from slayer once and a while.

E: looking into the skill ladder thing, might be down.

Warring and ladders have been dominated by combat-based clans for a number of years but, as we all know, clans aren’t all about PK’ing or indeed combat. That is why we launch our first ever Skilling Ladder today to give a competitive element to the Skilling community that will be officially led by Jagex.

Using the same techniques, rules and formalities of the Skilling Cup section of the Jagex Clan Cup from 2009 and 2010, the ladder will present a weekly battle of supremacy to see who can skill the best. The wars will be arranged and fought by the clans while the results will be processed and presented by our Jagex Elves*. The ladder will be launching as a ‘Beta’ meaning that rules may change in the future. Since a ladder is an on-going process we want to tweak it so that it meets the community's best interests.

So what better way to test out the new clan features then by organising your clan to participate in the ladder? Work out your winning strategy in the new clan area, pick ranks for the chosen few that will represent all that your clan stands for, set up your battle standard among the trees, rocks, and scenery so that the RuneScape populace will learn the name of your clan and help it go down in RuneScape history!

If you are already raring to go or want to find out more information about this new and exciting chance to prove your skilling prowess then you need go no further than the Jagex Skilling Ladder (BETA). It contains everything you need to know to take part and compete so what are you waiting for? Help us test this new feature for clans and skilling groups!

* May not be real elves.

I'd consider doing it. Skilling might be more entertaining if it's actually being done for ranks

Wait is this skill ladder of "my" choice skill?

Or is that a weekly determined skill? - I'd love to race for skills I LIKE to play, so I'll gladly help gaining ranks there if it's in my possibility.. However for skills I deem boring/are unable to skill thanks to rsi (I gave up on firemaking & hunting completely) I obviously won't help..

Does that mean I can stell be "in"?

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Put me down, I'll still be on Easter break while that's going on so I'll have nothing better to be doing :P

It's both. When a skill war happens, each clan chooses a skill they feel they can do well in, and there's a skill of the week.

There are a LOT of skills that involve seeing which clan will spend the most money to win, notable among them herblore and construction. Then there's the which clan has more 99/120s skills, like dungeoneering, mining, woodcutting, etc. The whole thing seems pretty silly to me- no skill besides dungeoneering takes enough real strategy or thought to be an interesting competition, and you aren't competitive in dungeoneering unless you're 120 and have your top floors open. Every other skill is a mix of spending cash and trying to pull off pixel perfect clicking for an hour in a skill you've already maxed.

The competition is about efficient training, and the fair few on these boards/clan are big fans of this.

Ditto. I see nothing weird.

First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.

First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.

First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015.

It's not about efficient training, it's about fast training. Demonic thrones aren't efficient, but they'll sure as hell win a construction war. A level 80 miner mining at max efficiency will lose to a 99 miner who isn't really trying.

Fastest /= most efficient.

What's with the weird sigs and avatars? (third time asking  )

Basically, they're seeing who can be the fastest, playing it like a hiscores race. I guess there's no harm in efficiency...

what....what does that have to do with rainbows, stairs and bright girl-like colored sigs and avatars?

Put me down, I'll still be on Easter break while that's going on so I'll have nothing better to be doing :P

We will only want to submit so many members to each war (five)

So it has to be the 5 best in the 3 skills being battled out.

so it'd be nice to know what skills u think ur good at, and what xp rates/strategies you think can execute.

of course if you have a very very sweet strategy, don't just post it in public, pm it to someone.

Disclaimer, is that, while you can join the wars, you may not partake in many wars, if at all based on your stats.

But that doesn't mean you cannot support the 5 competitors in getting faster xp.

Once again, the players that do compete, will be chosen based on the strengths/weaknesses of the opposing clan, and the 3 skills being warred.

Naaxi.png

I, for one, hope that DGS doesn't participate in these kind of wars. The highest leveled dgers will have to group together to get the best exp, and if that was a noticeable issue by some before, I can imagine it being problematic due to an intense competition.

Perhaps they enjoy the feminism on the internet? Although... there is no such thing as girls on the internet...
